Ed Kearsley (00:42):
Well, hello and welcome back to another episode of Let’s Make a Comic book where we make a comic book with a different artist for every single panel. And tonight is no different. We have three great artists here with us. We’ve got Spie, Justin, and Tom, and they’re going to be helping us to create a page for a comic book. And before we get to that stuff, let’s take a look at last week’s effort where we had Shane Sdel, who has the

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:22):
Never

Ed Kearsley (01:22):
Heard the octopus called Whale says No cash, pound flesh Bitsy says Crap. And then Nick May’s bitsy, did you disconnect the detonator with the callback to the little character from the first ever panel and introducing some drama And then Rob O’Connor’s got, yeah, as you could see, I’m in a bit of a tight schedule. Do you mind accepting the cash body? And that’s where we’ll be picking up from this episode. And for the artists to draw something, they need a layout to draw so we can what

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (02:15):
Not that triangle one.

Ed Kearsley (02:19):
Let’s hope it’s the triangle one for spending.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (02:24):
Please know that’s the second worst. At least it’s not the worst all. I’ll repeat number. The person who gets the second one, the second panel there.

Ed Kearsley (02:43):
Did I press the wrong thing? There you go. Says if you want to have a look at the comments while I get the Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:50):
Sure. Okay, we’ve got the fourth monkey saying, ha ha ha. I’m first. He commented that about half an hour ago, so

Justin (03:01):
It’s better to be a number one than a number two.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:03):
Yeah, that’s true. And he is like, can’t wait to see what bits he gets up to tonight. And then William’s like, good day everyone. William.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (03:15):
William

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:16):
And then Shay quite the regular and quite excited about Tiny Tom.

Ed Kearsley (03:22):
Yay. Tony Tom. All right, so the thing is in the private chat legend, and now is the time where we pick the order of torment with the hand of choosing and we’ll let Spie get the first pick.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (03:49):
Rick Flair, Barry Wyndham, who was the other big guy? Mongo, McMichael, and of course Anderson. They are the four horsemen. I’ll go number four, please. Yep,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:02):
You are second. That’s the

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (04:04):
Triangle. Come on, bro.

Ed Kearsley (04:11):
Justin.

Justin (04:14):
Well, if the fourth monkey was number one, I better be number two. It’s only fair.

Ed Kearsley (04:21):
Number two is the special choose. So you get to choose one or three.

Justin (04:28):
Oh boy. I guess I’ll take one.

Ed Kearsley (04:35):
One. Stupidly awesome. And that makes Tom for number, right? I’m on third. Yay.

Justin (04:47):
Who’s on third?

Ed Kearsley (04:49):
Who said, well, we’ve got Justin will start drawing. Let’s have a chat to our other guests. So Spie just had a Kickstarter finish. Very successful effort.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (05:16):
Yeah. Yeah, I guess you could call it that. Thank you. It was a bit of a debacle actually behind the scenes, but Oh really? Wow. Yeah, look, yeah, it was printed three different times, but that’s besides points over here and it’s just beside it. Yeah. Vamoose the biggest issue yet. 80 something pages. My favourite collaborators, people from no stranger to this show and drink and draw and comics in general. And then of course the pink Flamenco finally got to spread his wings that he doesn’t have. He’s officially out in the wild now, arriving on people’s doorsteps today and yesterday and I’ll be at Bendon on the weekend and so it’ll be the first time Moose and pink flamenco get to be on a table. So we’ll see how it goes. Selling a $20 book. It’ll be a good

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:24):
Crowd for it. They’re pretty good up there.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (06:26):
Yeah, well, so it’s hard enough when you’ve got $10 books and people are like, how much is this? And you say 10 bucks, and then you watch their hearts and wallets break and they’re like, when did comics become $10? Well wait till you see this big fat $20 one. So I got wallets.

Ed Kearsley (06:46):
They’ll be able to tell by the sheer weight of the thing that it’s

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (06:50):
20

Ed Kearsley (06:50):
Bucks worth of gold

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (06:53):
And it comes in two variants. One with writing on the spine and one without writing on the spine, which was part of the whole printing debacle. But it makes, there are two variants out there and which one will you get? One that you can’t tell where it is on your shelf. It’s just a blue spine with nothing on it, and then one who you can put on the shelf. You got to

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:15):
Market that. Print. What?

Ed Kearsley (07:19):
You’ve got to market

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:20):
That as a misprint.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (07:21):
Yeah, or a Mr. Print, whichever

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:27):
Collector’s item.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (07:30):
I’ll collect you in a minute.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:31):
Sign your own name on there. That’d be even worth even more than you could charge 25 or 30.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (07:37):
Whose name would I sign on there, sis? You said sign your own name on there. Oh, well spell it wrong on the misprint.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:46):
Oh yeah, of course.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (07:51):
That’s all I got for you. Do you want more from me or are you going around the room?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:54):
We’ll come back to you.

Ed Kearsley (07:56):
I’ll let you be for a bit. I could see there’s a couple more comments that come in.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:01):
Yeah. And using words I can’t pronounce except triangle. Ha ha. Triangle for sped. Nothing like a inadvertent who’s on first moment should always have them and hooray for, I don’t know. Yeah, sorry. Why am I the one who reads the comment? Seriously? We know I have a thing with English.

Ed Kearsley (08:37):
We’re just hoping you’d get better.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:42):
Never happened, dude. It’ll never happen.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (08:44):
Learn by doing

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:46):
48 years. Oh, hang on. Yeah, 48 years of not knowing how to speak properly. It’s not going to change. So I had to work out then how old I was.

Ed Kearsley (08:56):
It’s all good. So let’s have a chat with Tom.

Tom Tung (09:03):
Sure thing.

Ed Kearsley (09:06):
We love it. Mini Tom.

Tom Tung (09:07):
I thought it was weird because you only ever see my hands and I’m like, see, you don’t always know what I’m talking because I’m like, I’m just going to have this little felt. Tom just come off from bottom of the screen and chat and move around

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:19):
Because the hands are weird. Yeah, definitely. Seems good.

Tom Tung (09:22):
Yeah. I’m legitimately a human here. I promise

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (09:31):
Actually to back you up there, I have felt Tom and he is real. That was a

Tom Tung (09:39):
Yes. Not felt like, I mean what this is made of.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:45):
Yeah.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (09:45):
Felt in a non-sexual, but loving sense, loving.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:50):
Blink twice. If you need help,

Ed Kearsley (09:54):
Show us on the felt doll where he touched.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:07):
You’ve got three from Peter. Before you ask Tom any questions? Good

Ed Kearsley (10:11):
Evening, Peter. What’s been going up in the Tom and Tongue universe?

Tom Tung (10:20):
What’s been going up? Not a lot. Just mini Tom every day and it takes me away from drawing other things.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:28):
I still can’t get over how many of those you’ve done. That’s crazy.

Ed Kearsley (10:33):
Tell the audience what that is. If people are just tuning

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (10:36):
In, can I guess because I did know the number at one point and it was over 2,100 I think. So I’m going to guess 2,212.

Tom Tung (10:48):
2,212. Anyone else want to guess before I confirm?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:53):
I’m not even going to try.

Ed Kearsley (10:54):
I forgot what species said.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:58):
2,212.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (11:00):
Well, how about this? Higher or lower ed? 2,212. Higher or lower?

Ed Kearsley (11:06):
Let’s go higher.

Tom Tung (11:08):
You’d be right. 2,679 today.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:12):
Whoa. Holy

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (11:13):
Shiza. Wow.

Tom Tung (11:16):
Just almost a year off the big 3000. Wow.

Ed Kearsley (11:22):
That’s ridiculous.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:25):
We’re a very stubborn man to keep doing that no matter what happens each day.

Ed Kearsley (11:33):
So that’s a daily comic strip that you do

Tom Tung (11:36):
Every weekday?

Ed Kearsley (11:37):
Every weekday

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:38):
Page, weekdays. Oh, thank God for that.

Tom Tung (11:40):
Yeah, and it keeps it a multiple of five so I can keep track. So if I’m posting it on Friday and I type a number, that’s not zero or five, I know I’ve mucked up somewhere.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:53):
Good system.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (11:54):
Have you ever cheated and done two on the weekend or something to give you a break in the week?

Tom Tung (11:59):
Oh, I try to draw ahead if I can.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (12:03):
And a body and the whole,

Tom Tung (12:05):
Yeah, and all the organs and everything. I know what those are.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (12:11):
You turned into a pirate there at then. I know what those are.

Tom Tung (12:14):
I know what those are. How are you going, Justin? What are you thinking for panel one?

Justin (12:23):
Well, you got to draw that octopus, right? That octopus is just too much fun. Oh yeah. If I was an intergalactic octopus and a cat in a spaceship with totally bizarre and difficult to draw, legs had come to me and said, come on mate, let’s put the 40 bucks away. I would be, I say the name my friend, I want your 40 bucks. And if he then threw Buddy, no, we’re not buddies. Give me my money. That’s what it comes down to. So I’ve got a very angry octopus just pointing out that their friendship level may not be at the buddy stage just yet. Nice.

Ed Kearsley (13:11):
Have you got anything we can take a look at yet or,

Justin (13:15):
Yeah, sure. Just bear with me. I’m really, really slow at this stuff, so you’ll just have to give me a second. I’ve made the mistake of using clip studio paint instead of procreate. Procreate instead of procreate, which is something that I’m learning to use rather than something that I’m really good at. And so what I’ve had to do is, because I didn’t quite know how to get that angle of that panel shape, I’ve just downloaded the whole freaking page in and I’m just drawing on the page, so I’ll send it through in just a sec.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:50):
You can share your screen if that’s possible.

Justin (13:53):
Yeah. How do I do that

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:55):
Down the bottom? Present.

Justin (13:57):
Present

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (13:59):
Comex presents?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:02):
No, just present

Ed Kearsley (14:03):
Number four. Is that now?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (14:04):
Is there a, so I was reading up, and so Sean Craig introduced the where is my $20 and then Don Tio decides again, where is my $40? So the money goes up with interest

Ed Kearsley (14:23):
Every time he says something dumb. So I had the bitsy try to start a fight and then the octopus was like, narrow day owe me more money now.

Justin (14:39):
So I shared that correctly.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (14:41):
I don’t want to drag a legend like Don through the mud here, but he says again, where is my $40? Which would say that he’s previously said, where is my $40? Come on, Don.

Justin (14:59):
I mean octopus are good at manipulating their environments, but I’m not quite sure their memory is excellent. Maybe they’re not good with money.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (15:05):
They have three hearts, I think Octopus. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:09):
He’s making that up.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (15:11):
No, I didn’t

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:12):
Thing

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (15:13):
Did the triangle thing. I did research for my mini comic called Octo, bro. But yeah, I can’t remember if it’s three or two or what, but I’m pretty sure

Justin (15:29):
Have I shared that correctly guys?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:31):
Yeah, you have have.

Justin (15:34):
I’ll continue to.

Ed Kearsley (15:36):
Oh, that’s awesome.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:38):
That is cool.

Ed Kearsley (15:39):
It’s good enough for Spie to,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (15:42):
Well, I know what I’m doing and I’m going to turn the drum up a notch.

Ed Kearsley (15:49):
Excellent.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (15:52):
Should I tell Tom what I’m going to do or do I just start sketching it?

Ed Kearsley (15:58):
You can do whatever you want.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (16:00):
I do whatever I want. Sweet. Suddenly bits. He’s got boobs

Tom Tung (16:07):
Please.

Justin (16:08):
Booby the cat.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (16:13):
Tom, I’m going to have the octopus wrap its tentacles around. Bitsy and pull. Pull his head off. Not his head, but the bubble that he’s in. So expose him to the space.

Ed Kearsley (16:28):
Oh,

Tom Tung (16:29):
Okay.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (16:31):
Whether he can breathe in space or his eyes pop out of his head. That’s your call, but eyes

Justin (16:36):
Pop. Eyes pop. Eyes

Tom Tung (16:38):
Pop. You are breaking the little cylinder open.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (16:43):
Yeah,

Tom Tung (16:45):
I can roll with that.

Ed Kearsley (16:47):
Just tell us in chat. Should the explosive de combustion or

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (16:53):
Yeah, eyes pop. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:55):
Give us some ideas.

Tom Tung (17:00):
Bitsy can’t be dead on page page eight. That’s crazy. Talk page seven. Sorry.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:08):
We’ve got Shay saying whale doesn’t have any hearts.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (17:12):
Well, that’s not true

Ed Kearsley (17:18):
Octopus.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (17:25):
All right. Now because I dragged Don, it’s only fair. I did trip over that when I was shade and Jew. Come on mate, you are toast. And I’m a whale. Very clearly shade and this is an octopus or a shalu even. I would’ve even taken squid, but a whale,

Ed Kearsley (17:47):
It’s like people giving their pets people names.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (17:51):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:52):
Yeah. Imagine someone calling their cat Doug.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (17:57):
One of my ideas was if I was number one, I was going to introduce Botsy and it was Doug driving a man body thing.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:13):
Oh, nice. I’ve got Peter Lane here. These are comics. You can always be resurrected

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (18:23):
Peter Lane. If I was an octopus with three hearts, I would love you with two of them, my friend.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:29):
Oh, sorry, I missed Williams here. Triangles are terrible. I’m working on a builder figure that has a triangle shaped gem as an elbow guard. Little thing is under eight millimetres fell on the floor and I’ve been cleaning the garage to find it.

Justin (18:49):
I hate that. I’m a bit of a miniature painter and builder myself, and I’m sure that there’s more little bits of grey plastic on my floor of this room than what there is actually on the table ready to be painted.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:05):
Oh, here’s an interesting take on it. Bitsy is secretly an elder God and the exposure to space reveals this scaring well off.

Justin (19:16):
There you

Ed Kearsley (19:16):
Go. I’m not going to start again. There was tentacles in the panel that you drew on the blank version of Let’s make a comic book where Tom was on. That’s right.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:37):
Oh, tying. I’m loving this angry octopus. This is awesome.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (19:48):
Yeah, Tom, you should probably know I actually changed them from tentacles to testicles, so he’s got eight wrapped around him.

Ed Kearsley (19:55):
It’s a common mistake. That’s very common. Yeah.

Justin (20:01):
We’ve all tried to impress a partner by telling them something that’s a lie.

Ed Kearsley (20:12):
Let’s hear from Justin. Tell us what art and comic book stuff that you do and where people can find you.

Justin (20:24):
Sadly, I haven’t had anything published.

(20:31)
It’s a bit of a long story. I’ve recently moved to the country and am looking to do things that I used to do and I wanted to restart drawing again properly. And so I’ve set up my studio and I’ve got my comics and stuff everywhere and the intention is that I have a comic sitting in my chest that’s ready to come out and I’m practising my fundamentals at the moment to try and try and be better at doing the actual panels as far as any sort of professional work is concerned. A few years ago I did a poster for the Sydney Roller Derby League. They were having Rocky Horror Picture show night, and so I did a poster of Magenta and Columbia chasing each other around the ringed track.

(21:37)
I’ve done a couple of little bits and pieces like that. I also, believe it or not, weirdly, in my graphic design journey, I designed a garden fence for somebody, which is an interesting New Zealand couple, and they moved to Australia and they wanted to build a fence that portrayed their love of Australia and their love of New Zealand. So I came up with a design using the silver fern to represent both countries and it was something different and I sort of did this thing as a little tiny structure for them and was completely and utterly stunned when I saw the size of the damn thing in their backyard and it’s not going anywhere. You talk about some art not being very permanent. I mean this thing’s stuck in their backyard until that place is bulldozed. So my legacy is is that I’ve done that to somebody’s house, which is pretty cool. But yeah, I have a comic story in my chest that I’m waiting to get out about a girl who’s recently been released from prison. She’s moved back to the old farm. Her father passed away while she was in jail, and when she gets home she discovers that maybe his death wasn’t natural causes.

(23:06)
I’ve always liked Nancy Drew and stuff like that. And one of the key things about this story is that I really like the film from Dust till Dawn. So we all know that halfway through from Dust till Dawn, it goes from being a bit of a police and crime drama to flipping to being a vampire horror movie. Well, I’m hoping to do something like that, but not with vampires. So

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (23:32):
Could I suggest one thing for the story is that the old man, what he died from was having a literal comic book in his chest.

Justin (23:41):
He was entailed by one. Yeah, I like that.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (23:47):
This thing writes itself.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (23:50):
Got, oh, sorry. You got fourth monkey saying sensational angry octopus. Justin.

Justin (23:55):
Oh, thank you Stu, I appreciate that.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (23:59):
I’m about to start an angry octopus myself, which sounded dirt than I meant it. I just meant

Justin (24:08):
Insert Michael Scott G there.

Ed Kearsley (24:12):
Let’s have a look at SP’s Dirty Octopus.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (24:16):
That’s what she said.

Justin (24:17):
Oh, it’s very dirty.

Ed Kearsley (24:20):
It were. Oh, that’s nice.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (24:24):
As you can see, I’m trying the hardest to use this goddamn triangle. I

Justin (24:33):
Just love the casual pop.

Tom Tung (24:36):
Oh, it’s popped off. Okay, hang on. No more glass shards.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (24:40):
Oh, sorry.

Tom Tung (24:43):
Easy fix. Easy fix.

Justin (24:44):
Oh no, he’s got a pretty tight grip on that. I reckon that he’d pull it off and then smash it so there was no chance of regaining it.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (24:50):
Yeah, he could squeeze it till it pops. If you want to shard it up,

Tom Tung (24:55):
I know what to do with it.

Justin (24:57):
I just want to point out, this is over 40 bucks. This isn’t nothing to sneeze at. This is,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (25:03):
I thought for a second you meant the comic’s going to cost 40 bucks and I was like, oh golly,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:09):
This is a collector’s item. This will be starting at 60. Thank you.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (25:14):
Well, RO, he did draw it in cro, so that’s a one at a time programme.

Justin (25:22):
Stop that. English is my second language.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (25:34):
The fun bit then is then you’ve got to kind of fit eight tentacles in.

Ed Kearsley (25:39):
You don’t have

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:39):
To. They can be off the page.

Justin (25:42):
That’s what I’m doing. The trick is to not show the full testicle. It’s just to show a part of it. Yeah,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (25:50):
My wife asked me, actually, she said if you could get rid of the whole testicle, that would be great.

Justin (26:04):
That’s cold. I like her.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (26:08):
They’re often quite warm.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:09):
Hello? Hello? I’m waving. Hello.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (26:21):
Is this actually a chatu? What is a chatu? It’s a giant octopus on a man’s body. Right?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:30):
I think it has more than eight tentacles though. Or testicles or whatever you want to call them.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (26:35):
I want to call them testicles. Well,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:37):
It probably has more testicles as well. Who knows?

Justin (26:40):
Realistically, you don’t want to have more than eight testicles on your chin, what it comes down to.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (26:44):
Yeah, that’s a hell of a Tuesday night.

Justin (26:47):
There is an upper limit.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:49):
There’s an upper limit. Yes.

Justin (26:51):
I’ve heard. So I’ve heard, just to clarify, so legend has it

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:06):
Now. Oh God, I just keep wanting to say testicle now. It’s not good. I just went to say nice testicles. I made tentacles.

Tom Tung (27:19):
I’ll draw it for you guys later.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:21):
It’s okay. I can get that all the time though. Nice testicles. Look at you. People fly around on these softwares.

Justin (27:37):
So I was telling one of my friends that I occasionally stream video games with last night that I was doing this and he was like, oh cool, that sounds great. He was, how are you doing it? Are you doing it digitally or are you going to do it pen and paper? And I said, oh. I said, well, I’m going to use more wake on. You spend stupid money on these things. I probably should actually use it. And I just got this. Oh, I can’t abide by that if it’s not paper and pencil. It’s not real art.

Tom Tung (28:09):
What?

Justin (28:10):
Yeah. Who is this person? Well, he’s blocked, so it doesn’t matter.

Ed Kearsley (28:18):
You did the right thing.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:21):
Excellent. Move trick. I need to learn.

Tom Tung (28:32):
Yeah. I love that mentality of Oh, you just do it on the computer or it doesn’t take anything.

Justin (28:37):
Yeah, I do find that something to, when I show somebody that I’ve drawn, they’ll be like, oh, did you do this on the, especially because I digitally paint before I draw realistically, and I will show people stuff that I’ve digitally painted and I’ll be like, yeah, but it’s on a computer. It’s not real. So the only difference is that I didn’t have to clean the paint off a brush. Exactly. So surely that’s a better thing.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (29:08):
Don’t call me, surely.

Justin (29:10):
Yes, exactly.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:11):
The speed Spie is doing this. I’m a little confused if it’s actually sp, it kind of looks like you’re moving ai.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (29:22):
Ai. I’m drawing it myself.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:27):
Hilarious.

Ed Kearsley (29:30):
So on Saturday, we’ll be able to watch says have a drawer on his tablet.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:38):
You know what I am. And it’s like, oh yeah, I am. Tell us about that. Si. Well, I’ve decided, and I can’t remember why there was a reason, but I’ve forgotten the reason. For some reason I’ve decided to draw the first thing. Oh, that’s right. Shay Shahawney suggested that I draw the first comic I ever read and I went a first character and I was like, well, I can’t remember the first one, but I do remember the first comic I got in Australia, which was a drudge dread in a show. Oh wow. So I said, I’ll draw that. And then I looked him up and I went, crap, why did I do that? This man has so much crap all over him. I have enough troubles drawing something simple like gene Grey. Oh, well it’ll be fun. It might be over an hour. It might go for quite some time.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (30:42):
All about

Justin (30:43):
The helmet. That’s all you’ve got to do. You’ve just got to get that helmet right.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:46):
Ooh,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (30:47):
Yeah. I’d have more trouble. Excuse

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:49):
Justin. I’ll just draw the helmet and instead Justin said I could. I like it. Go talk to wrong this.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (30:56):
I’d have more trouble drawing Jean Grey trying to make it look like a woman and stuff like that. Give me a helmet any day. Yeah, I didn’t mean anything by that. Give me a purple helmet.

Justin (31:12):
Does that helmet come with a side order of testicles?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (31:16):
Well, that’s on the secret menu.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:19):
Where have you taken the show Zi? Where have you taken it

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (31:23):
To the depths of animals

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:26):
Straight to the testicles. The depth doesn’t help that I’m encouraging it. I’ve got an art book from when I was really little. I’m sure I tried to do a judge dread of my own. I’m trying to find it. I drew back then

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (31:48):
My favourite fantasy book was Lander, so I was 14 when I read it. So I promptly went home and began working on Skylander, which was my complete ripoff of that. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:05):
Nice.

Justin (32:07):
How did you feel when Skylanders as a toy came out

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (32:09):
Then? Yeah, I know. Then I didn’t feel so guilty. I thought, oh, that’s all you got to do. Just change a word.

Justin (32:19):
So if I may ask, what was everybody’s first comic that they can remember

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (32:27):
That’s personal.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:28):
I’ll start. If you go back to the very, very, very, very, very first, as far back as I can remember was Asterisk and Oix.

Justin (32:39):
Oh wow. Yeah. Good choice. Nice. Yeah, there’s so much detail in that comic and you just forget how detailed they were.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:52):
Oh, smart. I didn’t draw him. I just drew all his bits. Well that doesn’t sound right. All his gadgets,

Justin (32:59):
Like his helmet.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:01):
I drew his helmet and his gloves and his belt. Oh,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (33:04):
All right. See, come

Ed Kearsley (33:05):
On.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (33:08):
I just drew his bits, like his helmet. Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:12):
I drew his clothes, but I didn’t put ’em all together. I was a smart kid. Yeah, they

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (33:16):
Were crumpled up on the floor, weren’t they?

Justin (33:18):
Yep.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:21):
I stood on ’em on the way through.

Justin (33:25):
Oh dear.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (33:27):
A female dear.

Justin (33:29):
Because it is funny that one of the things I was thinking of when I was watching Drink and Draw the other night with Shazam, never heard of it. Shazam was one of my first comics and I had one of those, I don’t know if any of you guys remember the Marvel Treasury editions and DC did them as well.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (33:47):
They were good.

Justin (33:49):
I’ve still got some of mine. They’re amazing. And I had a Shazam one of those and about two weeks later spotted Amigo Shazam.

Ed Kearsley (34:01):
Oh, cool.

Justin (34:02):
And had to have it. And that thing went with me everywhere. Both the comic and the toy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:10):
Sweet.

Ed Kearsley (34:14):
Let’s hear from the people in the chat. What was the Chatter’s first comic books?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:21):
Yeah, yeah. Come on. People first comic books.

Ed Kearsley (34:24):
So mine would’ve been either a Dandy or ao, the British Comics.

Justin (34:32):
Bino is so good. What was your favourite Beo character?

Ed Kearsley (34:38):
I can’t really remember the Beo ones. I can remember from, there was one called Buster. It’s a different book, but it was basically the same thing. And there was a character called Face Egg who pulled funny faces and always got in trouble. Face

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (34:56):
Egg

Ed Kearsley (34:56):
Face. Egg

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (34:58):
Tummy face.

Ed Kearsley (34:59):
Yeah.

Justin (35:04):
I think I like the Bast Streett Kids in the Bino. The Bast Streett kids are always amazing.

Ed Kearsley (35:12):
It’s been so long since I’ve seen one. I can only really remember Dennis the Menace.

Justin (35:17):
Yeah. What was his cat’s name? Nasha

Ed Kearsley (35:21):
N. Yeah, I think it was a dog.

Justin (35:24):
Yeah, that’s right. It was a dog. That’s right. Many of the minks had the cat. That’s right. I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:35):
Excellent recollection of your, oh, I can’t even speak God. Why am I the one who speaks on this seriously recollection of, oh see, even after someone tells me Word, is it

Ed Kearsley (35:52):
Recollection?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:53):
Yeah, it’s that. That’s what I’m trying to say. Oh, it’s been one of those days. Yeah. Great ones. Everyone with their first comments, comics giving, but they’re not saying anything. Oh, here we go. I think technically my first comic book I ever read was Foot Rot Flats. Yes, yes. I forgot about that. That’s probably when I came back to Australia. I started reading those, which is funny. Based in New Zealand.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (36:22):
I think that technically is mine as well. Not that I really read it and enjoyed it and I got a Phantom and a man, Drake and stuff in them show bags. But my first ones were Captain America versus Captain Britain, which I think was in Captain America, like 3 0 5 or something. Random Marvel Tales featuring Spider-Man and Return of the Jedi part four. Thankfully I’d seen the movie. My dad just took me to my memory is that he took me to see Return of the Jedi and then took me to get the comic book and we got those other two comic books at the same time. He says, I never took you to see Return of the Jedi, so now I dunno where I’m coming from. I told that story a thousand times. It was

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:09):
Other dad.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (37:11):
Yeah, was the mailman and dad.

Ed Kearsley (37:13):
Fuck you. How’s your drawing going, Tom?

Tom Tung (37:22):
Yeah, not bad.

Ed Kearsley (37:24):
Did we get a look at that?

Tom Tung (37:32):
I tend to letter before I do anything else. So has the guy in the rocket ship gotten the name yet?

Ed Kearsley (37:39):
No, I think it’s a woman.

Tom Tung (37:44):
The woman? Yeah. What?

Ed Kearsley (37:48):
Yeah,

Tom Tung (37:50):
So she’s gone bit No bitsy. And then you pan down and you see something on the back of the octopi neck and bitsy yells Bit ship. I have repurposed the ator.

Tom Tung (38:05):
Blow it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:12):
That’s awesome.

Ed Kearsley (38:14):
Free voice acting.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (38:16):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:20):
Take that

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (38:21):
Answers my question as to what Bit’s voice would’ve sounded like. So that’s good.

Tom Tung (38:25):
Is that how you imagined Bit’s voice to sound, had you thought about it?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:32):
Yeah, kind of like one of those sort of

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (38:34):
1950s sort of characters. A hundred percent. I kind of saw him as talking more like this. As you can see, I’m on a tight schedule. Do you mind accepting the cash buddy? Suppose he’s a trade, isn’t he any takers? How about we get on smoke after this? Get a sausage roll meat pie from the seven 11.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:05):
Nice. And we’ve got a, I’m loving the layout on that panel. Spie.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (39:11):
Ah wow. Sometimes life gives you a triangle and you’ve got to turn it into a triangle with drawings in it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:24):
Did you draw a heart in each corner? Just saying,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (39:30):
I don’t understand because it’s got three hearts. Oh, nicely

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:37):
Done. I amuse myself. No one else but myself.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (39:41):
You but yourself. Nice.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:51):
So you could say that someone in the next week is going to draw an explosion. I guess

Tom Tung (39:58):
It could go wrong. There’s still

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:00):
Time. It could go wrong. That’s true. It could go wrong. Depends how long they want failed in the comic for, I guess.

Tom Tung (40:07):
And

Tom Tung (40:08):
Depending on whether they want it or not, I have given a little bit of an out because the arms from Bit’s Body are reaching out to grab him.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:29):
This is the quickest. We’ve had everyone drawing

Ed Kearsley (40:32):
You say that every week.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:34):
Do I?

Ed Kearsley (40:35):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:36):
No, I have no concept of time.

Ed Kearsley (40:44):
It’s also 40

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:45):
Minutes. I definitely didn’t say it on the one I was on, that’s for sure. I didn’t say it last week because it took me half an hour to get the iPad working. Okay, everyone, I can tell you what I’m going to draw now that we’re always halfway through the show.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (41:03):
Oh, you weren’t first were you?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:05):
I was first and I was like, I was trying to figure out my iPad. I didn’t know what the hell was going on. I’m like, I can get a file onto the iPad, but I can’t get the file into Clip Studio. I hate Max. I hate them so much. Something along those lines.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (41:23):
I don’t like the sound of this Max fella. I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:28):
Can’t be trusted

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (41:29):
Jokes.

Ed Kearsley (41:32):
Let’s get a look at Justin’s. I can see some activity going on there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:36):
Oh yeah. Some cool stuff going there.

Ed Kearsley (41:40):
Look at this.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:43):
That’s one angry octopus.

Ed Kearsley (41:45):
Hell he is. Hell yeah,

Justin (41:49):
He He’s heard about all of that. It’s it called Fugu, the live octopus that people eat. Is that what it’s called? Is it Fugu?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:57):
People are weird. Yeah.

Justin (42:00):
People

Ed Kearsley (42:02):
Tell us in chat. Is it called Fugu? I

Justin (42:05):
Think Fugu is the Blowfish. Oh yeah, Fugu. The poisons part of the Blowfish. That’s right.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (42:10):
You are thinking of Hootie. That’s who you

Justin (42:18):
Who in the Blowfish? Where are they now that we

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:21):
Made? Oh, sorry. God, that lag. Another comment. Unless the detonator is repurposed into a disco ball.

Ed Kearsley (42:34):
Oh, that’s fun.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:38):
Bitsy and whale can dance. But yeah, sped seeing why I don’t talk much on drink and draw. Are you understanding now?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (42:55):
Why don’t you,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:59):
You haven’t been listening to the show.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:02):
You’ve

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:02):
Just been concentrating on drawing.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:06):
Yeah. Well I just don’t totally get what you mean because you’ve been saying weird things.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:11):
I can’t speak English.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:13):
Oh right.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:20):
You’re too nice a man. I’m making fun of myself. And you didn’t want to join in?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:24):
Yeah, well I wasn’t sure. So

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:26):
What

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:27):
Angle you were coming at from? Didn’t

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:28):
Want to start something and make me cry. Thanks man.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:33):
Be like, yeah, you’re right. Sys. You’re so shit.

Ed Kearsley (43:41):
You know what? I agree. You’re sacked.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:46):
Keep talking like that. Ed might sack me. It’ll be great.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (43:50):
More testicle talk. Great.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:56):
Took a while. Took me a few seconds, but I understand that the connection gradually Looking good guys by Nathan.

Ed Kearsley (44:05):
Thank you

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (44:06):
Nick. Cheers Nathan. Thanks

Justin (44:07):
Nathan. Thank you.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (44:11):
I assume, of course. That’s Nathan Ian from TV’s Firefly.

Ed Kearsley (44:15):
Yeah, it is.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (44:17):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:19):
We’ve got a Hi Ed. Hi Siz from Nathan as well. So

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (44:22):
Yeah, good day Nathan. Thanks for the shout out there mate. Yeah. Righty

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:33):
Is a great looking page. Oh, sorry.

Ed Kearsley (44:36):
No, you go.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:38):
That’s all I was saying. Stu says a great looking page. He’s complimenting everyone without using name. Thank.

Ed Kearsley (44:47):
Okay, I’m

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (44:48):
Trying. And stick up a stew.

Ed Kearsley (44:52):
If someone wanted to send in some fan out of Bitsy or Whale or their mysterious one-eyed woman from the spaceship, where would they send that? Sis?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:02):
They would send that. Oh, that means I need to find it. I keep thinking you are the button man. Here, do bit of music there. Okay. Comex Show slash Art. So you can just go to Comex show. There’s a button there that’ll take you to art or you can type art up to you. There’s a form you put in your art, you tell us what show you’re putting it in for. Tell us a little bit about it if you want. That’s optional. And send it on through. And then what you can do is have sis remember that you sent something through so that you can put it on the screen like he’s about to now.

Ed Kearsley (45:47):
Oh, we got a new one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:49):
We got a new one. Bit. Saucy.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (45:52):
Saucy. Very

Justin (45:53):
Exciting. Oh, like sauce

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (45:55):
Bits. He got some bits.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:58):
I actually thought this was from, well the style didn’t make me think of Alex major, but just what they were doing made me think of Alex major.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (46:08):
I know that’s from Horny McGee.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:10):
Matt Cook.

Ed Kearsley (46:15):
It says nice legs.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:28):
Quite different than your lips on your octopus, that’s for sure. Slight difference.

Justin (46:37):
I’ve made a terrible error. I should have gone for the Kissable stuff.

Ed Kearsley (46:47):
And we’ve got this one from last week, which we’ll show again.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:51):
Oh yeah, this is amazing. Oh

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (46:53):
Wow. Oh

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:54):
Wow.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:56):
Fan art from,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (47:02):
Sorry, who was it? Did you say this?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:04):
Shawnee. She sent it in. She made this for, oh, can’t remember. For the show and for something else. I just remember the show because I’m a little one track mind. It’s for us, not for anything else going to tell me otherwise. Bitsy looking like she’s more issuing a challenge than in that kissing booth.

Tom Tung (47:43):
Anyone can do a comic where a fight an octopus. But

Ed Kearsley (47:50):
I think there’s lots of comics

Tom Tung (47:52):
Like that. Oh no, you’re right, you’re right. You can import a lot of that. That I’ve heard.

Justin (48:01):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:15):
Oh hang on. That’s right. I’m on the show. Stop watching SP Z

Ed Kearsley (48:21):
What sp to him.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:23):
I’m watching him down in the little box. I’m allowed to see that.

Ed Kearsley (48:28):
I will put it on the big screen. It’s over. We could see

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:33):
You’re just moving very quickly. And it fascinates me. That doesn’t fascinate me. Spie the drawing. It’s the drawing fast.

Ed Kearsley (48:49):
It is looking good.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:59):
Well, I’m glad we rigged the spinning wheel and the fingers so it spreads. You got on a real, really good job, Lee Chalker giving multiple emojis. Geez, that’s turned off. Why is it still making noise? Stupid. Watch. It’s turned off. It says there. Oh no, it’s not turned itself back on somehow. How’s it do that anyway? Yeah. Interesting show. Shane. Talk about your watch.

Ed Kearsley (50:00):
They’re telling us more about this amazing watch.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:03):
This is what people tune in for. Is Steve yelling at technology? Well, it worked last week. There was lot yelling at iPads.

Ed Kearsley (50:14):
Tune in on Saturday.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:17):
Oh, yell at more iPads. Yell at the iPad, yell at the Apple pencil or whatever it’s called. Yell at my phone for not connecting to the iPad. Yell at my computer for not to connect any to the iPad. Yell at Doug. Just cause

Ed Kearsley (50:38):
What did Doug do?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:39):
I don’t know. I’ll think of something later.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (50:42):
Doug’s not connected to the iPad either. As far as I remember.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:54):
Actually, a day in the life of Doug is pooping and sleeping. So he did either of those two.

Justin (51:00):
Same Doug sometimes at the same time. I must admit.

Ed Kearsley (51:17):
Do you reckon it’s about that time, sis?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:19):
Oh yeah. I wasn’t watching the time. Yes it would be.

Ed Kearsley (51:25):
I will

Ed Kearsley (51:25):
Pretend like I’m not getting the thing up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:30):
I did it again. Again. Why am I on this show?

Justin (51:38):
Because you’re a legend.

Ed Kearsley (51:40):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:42):
Interesting definition.

Ed Kearsley (51:47):
Okay, so if you guys want to send your drawings into cs,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (51:55):
Is it time up?

Ed Kearsley (51:57):
Yeah. Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:58):
You can finish afterwards. You don’t have to finish during the show. It’s just to put it together and see how it looks.

Ed Kearsley (52:11):
We’ll have a look@thecomx.net au slash shop. We’ve got some new stuff in there now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:24):
Yeah, we do bristle mouth and human fly fly super humans as well, but I haven’t put them in yet, so I’m busy. Sorry about that. IPI.

Ed Kearsley (52:38):
So the classic late seventies Marvel comic. He is back. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:44):
It’s pretty awesome.

Ed Kearsley (52:48):
So this is where you get your Australian comics from the comics.net au slash shop and that helps support all the shows. The drink jaws. Let’s make a comic book. Chinwag. Recent reads, what else? The amateur hour. I just got all these four here. I just got those.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:20):
Nice. Okay. I am going to send a secret message to everyone.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (53:29):
Sorry. Yeah, I started to export it and there was some messy bits that would’ve been a pain in the ass for you. So I’m just getting rid of those

Ed Kearsley (53:42):
Mine’s just scanning now. Nice. Here’s the thing with the fast guy. So we can play Australian comic books. There’s some sped stuff.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:00):
Yeah. Double

Ed Kearsley (54:01):
Toilet and sluggish. Yeah,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:04):
It might be the only copy of the Devil’s toilet number one available at all. It is. Oh,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:13):
How many left? Sold one? Oh, hang on. No, that’s the glitch. There’s none left. It was bought.

Ed Kearsley (54:20):
Oh, so this is sold

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:22):
Out glitch.

Ed Kearsley (54:24):
You can’t even get that one anymore.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:27):
Who bought it? Oh no, that’s not my place to say

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:31):
Someone hate bought it.

Ed Kearsley (54:33):
Give us our address and credit card details.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:36):
Yeah, sure.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:37):
Sorry Siz. Do I send

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:38):
It to you into a banner as we speak?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:44):
Do I send it to yous?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:45):
Yeah, sure.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (54:47):
Oh slash It won’t work as a, it’s the bit of the show where everyone talks about JPEGs and

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:55):
Good old JPEGs.

Ed Kearsley (55:07):
We’ve got Bo number one. It’s by Peter Wilson, who’s one of the designers of Bity.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (55:23):
Right. See I’ve actually sent it to you email because then it’s a proper,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:26):
I put it on the messenger. What was wrong with that?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (55:28):
Well it’s a proper PNG that will make it so much easier for Ed to just drop in. But what ifs?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:38):
Give Ed some work.

Ed Kearsley (55:42):
This is one of my books. See Mantles from Earth.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (55:46):
Yeah. It’s so random that they’re from earth when they’re like the weirdest looking creatures and we’re reading it on earth.

Ed Kearsley (55:58):
It’s all to be revealed in leader issues. I just forgot there’s the moose.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (56:09):
Yeah,

Ed Kearsley (56:13):
That’s one of yours, isn’t it Benzie?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (56:15):
It is, yeah.

Ed Kearsley (56:19):
You got the octopus and that one.

Justin (56:23):
So is this about scissors Watch? It says not on my watch down there. Is that about

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:33):
S wishes he was in the moose?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (56:38):
You’re welcome. Anytime.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:42):
I thought it was a quality book. Make up your mind.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (56:47):
I’m sorry. In the latest issue, I’m pretty sure

Justin (56:51):
I’ve stopped doing what I’m supposed to be doing to look at the comics that are in the screen.

Ed Kearsley (56:58):
Just waiting for Justin’s one I think.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:03):
Oh, did I send that to someone else? Okay. Some random friend of mine just got that picture. Okay. They’re like what’s with the angry whale? Angry whale? Jesus. Angry multiple.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (57:20):
Oh golly.

Ed Kearsley (57:26):
Well you could get one of these hats. The official comic community

Ed Kearsley (57:32):
On a hat.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (57:34):
They may or may not cause you to lose half your vocabulary and send emails to the wrong people.

Justin (57:45):
Does not come with an annoying watch.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:48):
No. Very expensive, annoying watch.

Ed Kearsley (57:51):
Okay, I’ve got all three now. So I am going to put the page together while Siz has a look at something else.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:11):
Something else? Yep, yep. I just need Rob to answer a question on your messenger. Dude,

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (58:21):
Sorry I don’t have it open. I will open it.

Justin (58:28):
How many testicles does an octopus have?

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (58:32):
Yeah, sorry. So seven inches but eight on a good day. Which question am I? Oh no, instagram.com/sp z.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:48):
That just SP Z because I saw that one and I wasn’t sure if that was just art. That’s all. So I’ve made the habit of, I’ve not made the habit. I have accidentally shared someone’s personal one on here before.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (59:01):
Well the giveaway that that’s my art account is that it’s exclusively got artwork on it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:08):
I didn’t open it yet, so I wasn’t sure. Oh yeah. Alright, cool. We’re safe.

Tom Tung (59:16):
I’m just going to keep drawing because if not, I’m going to draw something with eight testicles instead

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:33):
Just taking its time. We’ll start with sp because that’s where I had it.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (59:39):
Yeah. Am I meant to narrate what happens here?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:46):
No, no. I just go through it point at stuff. They can narrate if you want. I need to learn how to do these things up here. That’s how technologically un advanced I am, man with big sword birds. I dunno what’s happening there. Are they muscular? Those

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:00:15):
Are space mice mate.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:16):
Space mice. I went with muscular mouse. This picture is amazing. It looks like a photo.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:00:24):
Yeah.

Ed Kearsley (01:00:26):
That’s really good.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:28):
Sp what are you doing? Not showing off these skills.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:00:36):
I found this cool way to do photorealism and that’s take photos.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:45):
Cool, cool. Very cool. I won’t ask. Oh no, I won’t ask. Hey, it’s Doug. He does that all the time except for the men with guns. Nice phantom.

Justin (01:01:14):
Yeah, that’s a great phantom. I love that. That’s cool.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:18):
That’s

Justin (01:01:19):
Very awesome. Not very good for being camouflaged in the jungle, but

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:25):
You’re obviously not going to the purple tree jungle.

Justin (01:01:28):
That’s my problem. Yeah, that’s right. Although if his flowing undone, you wouldn’t be able, you wouldn’t know.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:35):
Oh, it’s angry Fred.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:01:37):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:41):
He got the donut after all. That’s good to see. And that’s where you draw characters of people that are certain workplace.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:01:58):
That’s just a fruit shop near me that always gets me to do stickers of all the employees.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:04):
Oh, that’s so cool.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:02:06):
And if you go there and they have a wheel, they’re called Carter Bros. They have a prize wheel. If you spend over $25, you get to spin the wheel and one of the prizes is the stickers. And it’s like I’ve done maybe eight different sets of five or six employees. And if you go to the shop, it’s insane because the car park, I’ve only been there a handful of times. It’s up in the hills. But if you go to the shop, the car park is almost always filled with cars covered in my stickers because that’s awesome. The shop there and they get the stickers and people want to collect the whole sets. Nothing to do with me. It’s the staff there are really cool. And so everyone wants the latest Harry sticker, the latest BJ sticker, the latest Jess sticker of the different cool employees. It’s a really fun and this one, they wanted to be Simpson’s characters. One that I just finished a week ago or so. They all wanted to be criminals of different types. So there was the Wall Street sort of conman criminal and those outlaws and there was escaped convicts and pirates and yeah,

(01:03:23)
It’s fun.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:25):
Sweet. And just, I think it has something to do with you Spie. I think the art will make a difference for people wanting them.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:03:37):
Yeah, yeah. But no one knows it’s me. A guy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:44):
Sorry, I got excited.

Rob ‘Spedsy’ Lisle (01:03:47):
That must be coming up. I haven’t finished that page so

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:54):
Well. That was sped the awesomeness now for some Justin awesomeness.

Justin (01:04:01):
Oh no. Yeah, there’s a lot of uneven rubbish in here. You can see some of my painting on there as well, but

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:09):
Where’s that? Oh

Justin (01:04:12):
Yeah. And also whatever I’m watching while I’m drawing tends to end up on there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:16):
That’s really cool.

Justin (01:04:19):
But another thing I’ve been doing lately is actually drawing my favourite artists. There’s one of Stew’s character, but I really like Robert Crumb, so I decided to draw a picture of Robert Crumb. But yeah, some traditional stuff as well. I like to actually do video, the procreate or procreate. You can record video of your artwork as well. And I like to sometimes record. Oh yeah, stop there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:51):
Stop there.

Justin (01:04:52):
Yeah. No, that’s all right. I couldn’t remember. It was Instagram. Yeah, sometimes I draw some fan art for friends and I’ve got a friend who likes has been hotel and she asked for a very, asked for a very specific thing with has been hotel, so yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:13):
Yeah. Moving on to Tom

Justin (01:05:15):
For the

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:16):
Best. For the best. You’ve got the many time and then you’ve got all these other things as well. How do you find the time?

Tom Tung (01:05:31):
What is sleep?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:33):
Ah yes. Sleep overrated. The rest is for the weary. Sleep is for the dead. Correct. Sorry, I love many Tom. I’m getting into it.

Tom Tung (01:05:57):
Yeah,

Tom Tung (01:05:58):
With back there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:00):
Oh, oh yes. Very nice. I think Ed has caught up to me because I’m going so slow. So I will take this off the screen and put us back how we should be.

Ed Kearsley (01:06:19):
Excuse me. So here is our page. We got Justin’s buddy buddy. We are not buddies. Look at this guy so mad. And he’s gone in for the attempted murder on the bitsy. And then we’ve got the mysterious one old woman saying no bitsy. And then there’s the bomb. There’s bitsy to ship. I have repurposed the detonator. Blow it now. That’s really cool. The robot suit grabbing bitsy.

Tom Tung (01:07:11):
There was this force comic where NDA was writing and he didn’t realise he’d gotten a character to carry three things but only had two hands and the artist picked up on it and in the panels leading up to that panel, he’s drawn a third arm coming out of Dark Beasts back. So we can carry all three things.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:39):
Yeah. I’ll quickly go through the comments. Stu was saying, I’m lucky I’ve got one through three of Devil’s toilet. Awesome. He action not to do him in, but I think he might’ve bought the last one. Then we’ve got a Hey Justin from Natasha. Hi Natasha. Natasha. Then we’ve got a Hi Justin, miss you from Eric.

Ed Kearsley (01:08:07):
Hi Eric.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:08):
There’s other people. Eric wants you to draw some art for him. God, what the hell is that? Some sick artwork apparently. And then Stu is really nice work guys. Thanks Stu. Thanks Stu.

Ed Kearsley (01:08:34):
Thanks Drew.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:37):
Screw chopped up. Carrot. I just want to be different. Everyone else is saying the nice thing about him. Where were you when I was drawing? There was none of this nice work guys. Then

Ed Kearsley (01:08:53):
I’m sure there was.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:54):
Oh, that’s crap. Okay. Sorry. Was someone else controlling the comments when you were drawing? No,

Ed Kearsley (01:09:13):
We have wrapped up another episode of Let’s Make a comic book to thank Spie Justin and Tom for coming on and lending their artistic expertise to our crazy project. And we’ll thank everyone who’s watching now and watching Leader and everyone who’s commented. And don’t forget to like and subscribe to the Comex YouTube channel and we’ll thank Sp not sp again. Si Siz for pressing the buttons.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:57):
Is that what I was meant to be doing? Okay, cool. Write it down. I don’t forget.

Ed Kearsley (01:10:07):
Want to play us out Siz?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:10):
Yeah. Good night everyone. Thanks everyone.

Ed Kearsley (01:10:13):
Thanks Fortune.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:14):
Thank you.
