Ed Kearsley (00:43):
Hello and welcome to another episode of Let’s Make a Comic Book. I’m your host, ed Kiley and joining us tonight we have Nick Quick Cleary and Don Tio and we’ve got season on the Buttons and I’m also going to be drawing a panel tonight, so I will be the third artist in the mix.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:11):
Nice. So

Ed Kearsley (01:14):
We’re doing, this is season two and this is our character that was created by Alex Major and Peter Wilson and Nick May, who’s called Bitsy the tradie cat.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:26):
Good liar.

Ed Kearsley (01:29):
Thank you. And let’s have a look at our last week’s page. We’ve got Sha j, David Shiri and Sean Craig and we’ve got the octopus space. Octopus is attacking and says to bitsy your toast, and I’m a whale and we’ve got bitsy saying, but we can talk about this. And then the octopus yells, where is my $20? And that’s where we will be picking up from.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (02:08):
Is it?

Ed Kearsley (02:10):
Let’s find out. So we’re going to do the hand of choosing and we’re going to start with Nick. You get to choose,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (02:24):
Let’s go big three, right in the middle,

Ed Kearsley (02:27):
Big three, right in the middle.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (02:29):
Take me there. Oh sir. Sitting back pretty

Ed Kearsley (02:37):
And done. You get to pick one.

Don Ticchio (02:42):
Oh, I guess I’ll pick number one then.

Ed Kearsley (02:44):
Number one is number two.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:49):
Oh, Ed’s starting this one. I get to start early. Tell you what, can you put

Don Ticchio (02:58):
That the character drawing of the character showed before? Because I haven’t got a full one, so yeah, lemme just take a screenshot of that and

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:11):
I should be able to send you a picture. Sorry Don, I got slack.

Don Ticchio (03:14):
It’s all right. I got it. All good.

Ed Kearsley (03:18):
Okay, so now let’s find out what layout we’re going to use. Let’s spin it to win it and it is this one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:44):
Oh, nice.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (03:45):
Capital T.

Ed Kearsley (03:48):
Capital T.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (03:51):
The big T.

Don Ticchio (03:52):
Okay, so

Ed Kearsley (03:54):
I’m going to move that one. That’s worked everything. Now I’m going to find that. Send it to Nick. Just hold on everyone at home. So that is in the private chat now, Nick.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (04:20):
Excellent. I’m in a big rush now.

Don Ticchio (04:25):
Okay, I’m back in.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:30):
Cool.

Ed Kearsley (04:30):
Want to take some comments while I start?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:34):
Yeah, I’ll some comments. We’ve got Carrie said hello with lots of little emojis. Hi.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:39):
Thank you Gary.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:43):
He’s done his day mate.

Don Ticchio (04:45):
Sorry guys. Can you give me a refresher on this? What happens? Ed draws a panel and then I wait to see what he’s done and I go off that.

Ed Kearsley (04:54):
Yeah.

Don Ticchio (04:55):
Okay. Alright. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:04):
And then we’ve got, where’s my favourite Australian. I’m not sure who red’s referring to, but I agree Red. Very strange character or Bity.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (05:15):
I’m right here. Red mate. Goodday.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:21):
An evening chaps from Robbie and Fred. Anyone who’s detecting that? I’m talking a bit funny. I had a wisdom tooth out today, so I’m just putting that out there.

Ed Kearsley (05:30):
You still showed up,

Don Ticchio (05:32):
We don’t believe you.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:39):
Straight up for the choke. Yes. So Ed’s just, I’m not sure what Ed’s doing actually

Ed Kearsley (05:51):
I’m just drawing. I don’t want to share my screen right yet.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:54):
Oh, yep.

Ed Kearsley (05:56):
It’ll pop up

Ed Kearsley (05:58):
Up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:59):
Nice. So Nick, you last so I’ll pick on you first.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (06:06):
Good.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:08):
Well hang on, we’ve got a nice, I didn’t get a warning from Stoppy tunes or Alex. I didn’t. The didn’t ring ya get you. Hey gang. Yep. Thanks. Well we’ve got a puppy dog in the house.

Ed Kearsley (06:23):
Nice. Hey puppy.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (06:29):
Don’s off.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:30):
Doug heard that and he looks like he’s jealous. He might be jumping up soon. Yeah. Also the painkillers are making my brain not work so fast.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (06:48):
Sed, where are you going to take this comic? You got any ideas?

Ed Kearsley (06:51):
I do right now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:59):
We’ve still got to fix blank blank. Finished?

Ed Kearsley (07:04):
Yeah. Oh we’re doing, oh sorry. Go.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (07:10):
Just going to ask, are you going to move this narrative somewhere else? You’re going to keep it where it’s sort of headed. What’s your plan, Mike?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:18):
Personally I get you now.

Ed Kearsley (07:23):
I have brought a little bit of the spanner in the work, so

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:32):
Spanner in the works. I want to give all these suggestions and I can’t because that’s against the rules.

Ed Kearsley (07:38):
It sure is.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (07:39):
I thought sizzle could suggest he’s sort of

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:42):
No, I can’t a

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (07:42):
Mediator.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:44):
I’d push the story a certain way for sure.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (07:48):
Name the cat something else.

Ed Kearsley (07:52):
Sis gets to direct the story when it’s his turn to draw a panel.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (07:57):
That’s it. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:58):
My turn now we’ve got a cute little,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (08:01):
That’s the one. Well he’s trying to get comfy. An uncomfortable place on my lap.

Ed Kearsley (08:15):
So we’re doing a new thing for this series. We’re asking for one word prompts for next episode and then that’s going to be randomly selected and then it’s going to be one of the artists on the next episode is going to have to put that somehow into their panel.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (08:37):
Wow. So you haven’t started that yet?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:39):
No. So people in the audience get to pick a prompt, give us some prompts. One word prompts. One word prompts puppy. There you go. There’s the first one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:57):
First

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:57):
One. Hey. And you’re not in the audience. Cheah.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:01):
I’m sitting pretty 40 minutes. I’ll be in the audience.

Ed Kearsley (09:05):
Okay, Anna, you can put my

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:10):
Screen

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:11):
Easily. Alex, easily. We can now do AI any day of the week.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:21):
Ai. ai. So

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:27):
Oh wow.

Ed Kearsley (09:30):
We’re got bit a jukes up. So you got your 20 bucks right here.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:40):
Bucks. Yeah, bucks is a big word if you’re putting bucks in

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:48):
Bucks

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (09:48):
And now Don’s going to draw 20 punches in one panel.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:58):
Be done.

Don Ticchio (09:59):
It can be done.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (10:01):
All the next 20 panels are done. That’s it. How many episodes we got for 20 panels? It’s just the same nailing into a octopus.

Ed Kearsley (10:16):
It can be done.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:19):
I love it. Violence is the solution.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (10:24):
Here we go. He’s off. Still enough. Straight hand. I usually leave the hands last. I’m like, I don’t want to draw hands.

Ed Kearsley (10:33):
It’s in the foreground.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (10:35):
Yeah, sure. Is that your general operation Ed foreground first?

Ed Kearsley (10:42):
Yeah.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (10:43):
Yeah, right. I think I just started the eyes and work out as my default. I don’t know.

Ed Kearsley (10:53):
Where did your heading first when I Oh, there you go.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:59):
Mine’s quite random if you’ve watched the amateur hour. I was just like, my pen feels good here. That’s where I’ll start.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (11:09):
Yeah, good old ear. What’s

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (11:14):
Going on? Drawing.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (11:17):
You got ideas Don?

Don Ticchio (11:22):
Well I’m toying with the idea of him taking him on eight against two is not really a fair fight. Is it

Don Ticchio (11:35):
Working?

Ed Kearsley (11:39):
That’s a good snappy comeback from the octopus one stuff.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (11:42):
I’ve got 160 bucks here. Little math joke.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:52):
That’s what it was. Knees Nick Ma convinced me started the knees.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (11:56):
The knees. Yep. Start at the converse shoes. Work your way up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:09):
Yeah, he gave this character thongs.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (12:12):
He did some metallic thongs. It’s a bold choice. It’s not terribly efficient. Look at this little ewok. I got rock in here.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:24):
He’s what?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:27):
Little Vegemite? Yeah. What we mean red is like a prompt word to sort of guide what they do in that panel to a certain extent. So they’ve got a fit in that word somehow into the panel that they do next week.

Ed Kearsley (12:55):
Yeah, so it could be a thing they draw or something one of the characters says.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:11):
Yeah, so I hope that makes sense. We got an okay. Oh we’ve got a prompt word for next week. Oops. Thanks nickname. That’s a good one.

Ed Kearsley (13:31):
Oops. There it’s,

Ed Kearsley (13:42):
And then the prompt will be randomly chosen and the person that has to use the prompt will be randomly chosen next week as well. That’s right. Add a little bit of spice to the

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (13:56):
Yeah, that’s a real thumb.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:05):
Really add to the randomness of this comic.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:10):
Yeah. Is it something you might put in the book somewhere? Like prompt number three was on panel two of blah blah blah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:25):
It’s not ready

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:26):
In the final

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:27):
Look.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:28):
Just to keep a record of the random.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:40):
I’m good Ed.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:43):
Oh yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:45):
Of the fisticuffs and the little, I love that. The little things that control like two levers can control entire body. I love that

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (14:55):
It’s all mental and then the stick are suggest for

Don Ticchio (14:59):
Okay to get you started. Oh

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:04):
Wow.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (15:05):
Dawn, really

Don Ticchio (15:06):
Rough. Just the idea. Let’s see if I can see it. So he’s got all his fists up in the air but then he goes again, where’s my 40 bucks? Every time he argues going to go up.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (15:30):
I couldn’t quite see that.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (15:32):
Can you

Ed Kearsley (15:33):
Take a snap of it and send it to sis?

Don Ticchio (15:37):
Yep, yep. Hold on.

Ed Kearsley (15:39):
Be able to bring it up on screen.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (15:42):
I replicate too much so he’s front and back up and doubling the price.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:59):
I know red that kind of describes the story really blind. We’re stuck on an island with a broken leg. That’s nice. Nice way to describe how random the story is.

Ed Kearsley (16:12):
Yeah, the whole thing’s random.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:16):
It’s a very random story. Each artist brings something new to the table each week to each panel. So three artists each week bring something new to the story. So yeah, it’s the beauty of a jam. Comic

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (16:33):
Jam.

Don Ticchio (16:41):
Sorry, my phone’s on the charger upstairs. I’ll just scan it in and I’ll send it to you.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (16:47):
Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:49):
Okay. Yes, red Brandon’s probably a good way to say it because there is no overarching story that they have to follow. They just have to continue from what happened in the last panel for all last few panels. So yeah. Yes, we’re doing this comic for fun. Yes, that’s probably a good way to say it. This is just for fun. Sorry. Are you emailing that to me Don? Or sending it to me on messenger? I’ll send it to you Messenger. Perfect, perfect.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (18:05):
I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:15):
Dunno, it sounds like a suggestion. Richo, sorry. I think is how it should be said calamari out of the space. Squid. Nice. I don’t think the audience is meant to make suggestions. What’s going on? Chaos. That’s what I’ve got to learn to edit things like that.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (19:07):
Get that fist up there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:10):
I’ve done it once and I couldn’t repeat it. I did it to one picture and I went whoa, I know how to do it now and then I can’t do it anymore. Sorry guys.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (19:20):
I’ll have to send it from the other place.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:23):
All good buddy. Get there eventually. Nick is Nick quick after all, he doesn’t need much time. Nick

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (19:42):
The boy

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:46):
If what I saw was right, it was a picture of the octopus with fists on each of the eight legs.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (19:53):
Oh really? And he’s just matching that pose.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:59):
I think that’s what I saw. I probably better check just in case. Hey, you sent me the name of the file but not the file. Sorry to

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (20:29):
I got one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:34):
I like it

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (20:55):
Pal.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (20:57):
You got your 20 right here pal? Yeah, it come through now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:07):
Oh yeah, hang on. It says I’ve got attachment instead of just a word. Oh yeah, it’s the stuff. That’s what we’re looking for.

Don Ticchio (21:15):
It has come through. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:17):
It has come through.

Don Ticchio (21:18):
Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:21):
I haven’t checked what it is. I’ve just sent it to Nick so hopefully it’s not,

Don Ticchio (21:24):
Hopefully you can see because the pen might be a bit light.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:32):
I am curious now I’m going to download it and check you Haven tax documents or something. Oh,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (21:37):
I see it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (21:41):
Oh, all the things are coming up. Every octopus limb is now in play.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (21:53):
No,

Don Ticchio (21:55):
It doesn’t come through.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:57):
Yeah, it’s come through. Oh,

Don Ticchio (21:58):
Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:06):
Oh thank you. Yep. Boost you up. See? There you go Don.

Don Ticchio (22:12):
Yep. Okay.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (22:18):
All that’s about. Alright, let’s get to work

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (22:26):
And

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:27):
Then we, sorry I’ve missed a few comments here. Whose panel is that on the screen with the fist? Looks great. That’s

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (22:39):
That’s mine.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:40):
That’s Richo.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (22:43):
That’d be Trav dog H reckon sizzle

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:46):
And Trav dog. Yeah. Red is saying turn the squid into a Turo stick. That’s different.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (22:57):
What’s a Teo stick

Don Ticchio (23:00):
One? Oh is

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (23:01):
It? Did I say it wrong? Oh, good evening. Nice panel Peter Lane. Thank you. And Shawnee’s come in with a no, I got distracted playing with Lego. What’d I miss?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (23:26):
Tell Shawnee about the

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (23:27):
Prompts. Yeah, Shawnee, we’ve got prompts now you give a prompt this week and we’ll randomly choose from people’s prompts next week to give to random panels to include that prompt word somehow in the art or it can be something that’s drawn, it could be inspire what happens in the panel? It could be a physical, well an actual thing they say. Yeah, so it can be used however the artist wants to use it I guess. But yeah, you get to pick a prompt word. So I think what Nick may did was a good idea. Write the word prompt and then after it one word. That’ll make it easy to find those words later.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (24:20):
Okay,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:25):
I’ll show you what he did in case I’m not making sense. He gave us the prompt word. Oops. Thanks. Red. Not quite getting it but good. Thank you for giving us a prompt sentence. I like my egg. Well done. Always. It needs to be just a word red, just a word so that it can be, it could be egg, we could just pick egg for that one. That way it can be interpreted many, many ways and it gives the artists a bit more freedom. Okay, egg. Awesome. Prompt word, egg and oops so far. Thanks. Red.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (25:36):
I cut your 20 right here, pal

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:39):
Or pickles. Oh no, not pickles again, but we will put it in there though. Pickles. It is no red egg and pickles. Two prompt suggestions from red. Thank you very much.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (26:07):
Thanks Rand.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:17):
Now I’m interested how that would work after what’s happening on this page now I’m kind of interested to see how the artists will interpret those words and make a page that fits. That’s the idea. You can’t run away from pickles. I guess you saw that episode of Chinwag. I’ve had some great what? This? I’ve had some great story moments in the past from random prompts at artist meetups. Oh cool. Maybe pickles is like a cuss word, like pickles or eggs in the family friendly way. Okay. I am trying to sped, but the old jaw doesn’t want to accommodate that at the moment. And thank you Jackie. Sausage sle at your surface. Oh, what do you got here? That’s what’s so cool. It could be the shape of the ship or McGuffin of the whole story. Cool. Oh yeah, that’s right. A lot of people have come in late. That’s why I’m not talking much. I had a wisdom tooth removed today, so I’m a bit doped up and sore as Carrie just said. You’re lucky that I’m upright. I like that. I like that though. I McGuffin or just the shape of the ship. Thanks Alex. I’ll be fine. I think it only takes a few days to heal if I remember correctly. I hope that’s all it takes. I’m really not in the mood to be able to commission for that long.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:04):
Cool.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:08):
Keep drawing the same line. I was going to say that only just came up for me, Kerry. Yeah, I was wondering what you were talking about. As Spie says I take it back. Talk quick.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:31):
Quick.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:33):
I think I’ve got an idea.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:35):
You got an idea. Awesome.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:37):
Started yet.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:40):
Thanks.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:42):
Just freaking out about the whole process really.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:50):
Just remember,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:50):
Don’t have to finish it tonight.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (29:53):
Yeah, that’s right. I think vibe. You know what’s fun about this, about bitsy is you can kind of get a couple gestures in. You can get the robot body to do a thing. Then you get double up that emotion inside with a cat. I think I can do that it. I’m playing it

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:23):
Down the bottom here. Red. I’m sizzle going. Alex, quick say something interesting. How about a riddle? No pressure.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (30:44):
I don’t know any riddles to me these riddle. Not a riddle guy. Sorry,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:04):
Nick May has said he’d love to see some legs in your panel. There been a lot of Nick May legs in the comic so far.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (31:14):
I was just drawing a mid shot so I may have to, but you know what? Full body might work better. Maybe

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (31:31):
I,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:40):
Nick May says he’s out.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (31:44):
See mate,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:47):
Have a good night. See you.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (31:49):
Bye Nick.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:52):
Oh, we’re getting riddles now. Why is a Raven like a writing desk?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (31:57):
Oh geez,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:02):
Don’t know.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:07):
Probably’s going to have to give us the answer to that one.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:11):
Why is A what? Why is a Raven

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:14):
Like a writing desk?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:18):
Raven, feathers. Black, Raven dark. I got no idea. Desk writing desk. Is it writing desk? Is that right?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:31):
Yeah. Oh, here we go. We’ve got the answer. It can produce a few notes even though they are very flat. There you go.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:41):
Oh, a Raven’s not very musical.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:45):
I didn’t know that actually.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:47):
There we go. What is on the back of Bit’s neck?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:54):
I wish we all knew that.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (32:56):
A bit of

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:56):
A debate. It’s the big controversy. Yeah. Some say it’s an exhaust pipe. Some say it’s a scarf. The guy who drew it says it’s a scarf and scars

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (33:12):
Got, I would’ve called the next piece. I see how it’s a scarf now. I thought it was a, you know how Mozart would wear or Beethoven would have the

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:22):
Oh, big frill

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (33:24):
Thing, whatever that is. That’s why I’m reading it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:29):
How a lot of people did.

Don Ticchio (33:42):
I just don’t have my mojo tonight.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:49):
It’s okay man. You don’t have to finish it tonight.

Don Ticchio (33:52):
Oh no, this is rough. I want to have a go once I’ve got it, I’ll get it on the iPad and draw it up with the iPad if that’s okay. Of course. My pen work tends to be a little bit scratchy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:15):
It may not be musical, but Ravens can sing really? And they can talk.

Don Ticchio (34:26):
Nick, I added another word balloon to my one. That one stuff you up. Will it

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (34:31):
Go on? What is it? I got to know.

Don Ticchio (34:35):
Well in the first panels go, I got your 20 right here and he says, well holding up his two fists. And I go, well I have eight, so where’s my 40 bucks? That’s just gone up a bit more. If that stuff’s up, I’ll get rid of it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (35:01):
No, that’s cool. Thanks for letting me know.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:11):
Nice one Nick. No excuses. Don.

Don Ticchio (35:16):
I’ve had a rough day.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:19):
You have? Well I love that Ed’s first one gets us into a fight. Nice.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (35:44):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:48):
Let the violence continue from blank.

Ed Kearsley (35:51):
Yeah, it was bound to happen sooner or a later,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:54):
So why not just embrace it?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (35:58):
Nice.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:02):
Well I won’t pester quick because he’s trying to come up with some ideas. Don’s had a bad day so I guess that only leaves you Ed.

Ed Kearsley (36:12):
What’s up? I’ve

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:12):
Got to pe You and the comments have slowed. Sorry, I’m starting to get a headache now too. Yeah, I’m drinking water. It’s okay.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (36:28):
Drink the water.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:32):
I just can’t drink a lot at once. That’s all. It hurts. That’s why we might not get you back on Alex because it’ll turn into a soft core adult romance if you get your hands on a panel. Yeah, we might not even make back.

Ed Kearsley (36:57):
That’s soft course though, right?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:59):
Oh guess

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (37:01):
I guess

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:04):
Ed’s the boss. You’re back. You’re back in. Yeah. No, I haven’t tried drinking a beer. That was one of the things he warned me not to do for the next two weeks was to drink alcohol or smoke, which funnily enough I don’t but still told me not to so I guess I can stick to that one.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (37:34):
Why can’t you smoke? Why would smoking be bad

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (37:36):
For?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:37):
I think it slows the healing process down in your mouth.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (37:40):
Ah, I’ll buy it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:48):
And

Don Ticchio (37:48):
Everybody’s doing stuff for these things all on some sort of digital platform. Is that what could you guys find a lot easier to work that way?

Ed Kearsley (38:02):
It’s mostly so we can show people what we’re drawing.

Don Ticchio (38:05):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:09):
I’ll stick my hand up. It’s easier. The back button’s a lot easier than an eraser.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (38:16):
True that.

Ed Kearsley (38:17):
Yeah. I do prefer to ink on the computer now

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:27):
Thanks to amateur hours. I’m getting a little used to doing it on digital, doing on the iPad.

Don Ticchio (38:36):
Yeah, I am getting there slowly. I just don’t use it enough or practise enough on it. And some of when you’re working in layers, even though the layers are locked, every time I touch the panel it just jumps to another layer and I find it frustrating but that’s purely because I’m pretty certain I’m not using it properly.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:13):
Oh, here we go. Here’s the medical reason, Nick. It stinks. That’s why

Don Ticchio (39:22):
It stink.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:34):
It is not sadly dude, I don’t drink. It’s all good. I can if I, oh no actually I can’t if I wanted to. Not in massive amounts anyway. Gets me in too much trouble.

Don Ticchio (39:51):
All in moderation says

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:53):
Exactly, exactly. Does biscuity have whiskers? I don’t know. That’s what those little lines are on the side. It’s your panel dude. You’re in control. Whiskers, why

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:19):
Inhalation exhalation.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:26):
Oh Terry just googled why smoking is no good.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (40:32):
Oh yeah, we’re learning tonight folks

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:36):
In moderation, my friend in moderation. You’re smart ass.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:42):
And

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:49):
Alex says slaves shaves her whiskers. There you go. There you go. Funnier looking or just funnier. Alex, you’d think that wouldn’t you? Shani, there should be a setting that stops you from jumping from two different layers. I up to interpretation. He’s thrown in there afterwards. Well, since your scarf became an exhaust pipe on the first page, I guess that’s true. I mean what is the robot running on that it needs the exhaust pipe.

Ed Kearsley (42:08):
That’s a good question. I am going to change my answer to scoff.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:32):
I’m just going to put this up here. Looking good, ed. Thank you. And are you ready to share yours Nick? Or not quite?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (43:11):
Give me a little, give me a sec. I’m almost there. I think I’ll have a little, give me a few moments so I’ll make it a bit more punchy for it’s revealed.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:18):
Okay.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (43:21):
Just the idea. I’m trying to draw my version of Alex’s cat.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:37):
I am looking forward to that.

Ed Kearsley (43:42):
How’s Don going?

Don Ticchio (43:45):
Crap,

Ed Kearsley (43:48):
That’s not good

Don Ticchio (43:49):
To be honest, but I will send a cleaner version

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:00):
Better than that.

Don Ticchio (44:01):
Sorry.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:04):
I was just saying, I’m sure Dawn’s going better than that. Your crap is my masterpiece. How’s that?

Don Ticchio (44:14):
No, could have done better. I think my bad day just reflects in my hands.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:22):
Oh no honour is humble pencil wizard. I’m sure it’s amazing. It says

Don Ticchio (44:50):
No, I scribble with a pen over it, but like I said, from here I’ll transfer it to the tablet and try and do clean lines because at the moment it gets the idea across in here. I found,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:34):
Oh, Don’s got the best Instagram to share.

Don Ticchio (45:38):
I have,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:40):
According to this, you have no posts yet.

Don Ticchio (45:47):
It shows you how much I get onto it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:51):
I’m looking forward to sharing that one bit. Oh there you go. Don Shawnee’s jumping in there with the same thing. On my best days, I can’t do as well as Don’s crap.

Don Ticchio (46:09):
There you go. No, it was a bad day with work. I’ve never had one of these in almost eight years. Oh wow. But I’m still very tired so I’m really, no, I shouldn’t say that. The client was pretty good about it. So it’s all sorted out

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:41):
As long as it’s sorted, I guess. Ready to be thrown the deep end. Nick,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (47:04):
Give me 30 seconds.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:08):
Can do. So any more prompt words from the audience, those who came in late and didn’t hear us talk about the prompt words and we’re looking for one word that will be used next week to prompt the panel of a random artist for next week. Or is it all three panels, ed?

Ed Kearsley (47:57):
No, it’s just one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:58):
Just one. So one panel gets randomly, one artist, sorry. Gets randomly picked to use the prompt word in one way or another and we’ll pick the prompt words from this week randomly and one word will be picked and then one artist will be picked.

Ed Kearsley (48:18):
Exactly.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:29):
There’s three reflection circles happening. There we go. Another prompt word snag.

Ed Kearsley (48:42):
That’s a good one. Let’s see if this fill bucket works. No.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (48:55):
Alright, you can show where Nick’s quick set

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:02):
Ready to show

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (49:03):
I think so. I’ve set up Don’s quote as a reference for me.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:11):
Okay, well here we go then.

Ed Kearsley (49:24):
That’s excellent.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:25):
That’s awesome.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (49:28):
See if they get to the all fight next week. Ed,

Don Ticchio (49:33):
I’ll send you a pick of what I’ve got so far.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:39):
Oh cool.

Don Ticchio (49:43):
Just didn’t know. Wanted the full pager, just the panel.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:48):
Oh yeah, either or. I agree. I getting into that part of the show, aren’t we?

Ed Kearsley (50:01):
No.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (50:04):
What looks more anxious? I’ve tried to get a lot of Bugs. Bunny tilts out him like he’s about to step out of the frame

Ed Kearsley (50:15):
That way. That one,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (50:17):
There it was. That’s how I’ve dropped it. I wonder if I tilt the head a bit more. It’ll be funnier or something. You know that kind of talk your way out of shit energy. That kind of, well

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:37):
Another prompt work from Nick May is legs.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (50:43):
No legs there a largely legless frame.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:53):
That’s what I’m looking for. Well I’ll just pop up so everyone can have a look. See that It is not the crap that he swears it is. Look at that

Don Ticchio (51:16):
Really, really raw.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:22):
It’s awesome man.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (51:24):
I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:27):
You artists. You’re all too hard on yourselves.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (51:32):
Let’s talk.

Don Ticchio (51:33):
We’ve got to be mate with AI coming to take our jobs.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:38):
It’s coming to take mine as well, man. It’s horrible. I saw a AI display thing where they showed to build an entire website just from a few prompts.

Don Ticchio (51:47):
Yep. I’ve seen it too. I watch a few things just to keep in the loop. I hate it but a lot of other people like it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:02):
Yeah, go figure. Does ZZ Top know a lot about legs? There you go. I sure do. I vaguely remember that song Don. That looks great. There you go. You got a dang don.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (52:21):
I reckon that’s better. That head straight on for some reason that works for me. If you see where I’m coming from,

Don Ticchio (52:30):
Yeah, that angle looks,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:32):
That was cool man.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (52:33):
Put it back and then I’d go. Yeah, because bits, he’s

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:37):
Different angle than Theo.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (52:39):
Yeah, he’s trying to compensate with some clarity. Now it’s the scarf going to add a little bit of tipping points. You can see what my focus is tonight. It’s that awkward balance stuff. Tried to draw his tail doing like a bit of a whatever it needs.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:15):
That’s the other controversy is does he have a tail?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (53:18):
Yeah, I can see a tail in the first pick. It’s of curving around I

Ed Kearsley (53:26):
That’s his hand on the

Don Ticchio (53:28):
Jewish. Yeah, he does have a tail,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (53:30):
Right? It’s his hand. It’s just a bit lower. That’s why I thought. Yeah,

Don Ticchio (53:36):
It’s right there.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (53:37):
Alex, you what have you guys done? You just, well anyway, I’m drawing the tail where it’s like, you know when you step on a rake and it goes,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (53:50):
I like it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (53:53):
I think the sharp ears work better even if it’s hitting the glass more of that and the teeth are chattering, but there might be a better way to do that. You could give it the old, the bony gumble kind of. Let’s go again. I’m starting it. You know that one?

Ed Kearsley (54:22):
Yeah. Like the Charlie Brown.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:24):
Yeah, the Charlie Brown.

Don Ticchio (54:31):
Has he ever a heart tattooed on his belly? Has he?

Ed Kearsley (54:35):
Oh yeah, that’s right.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:35):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Ed Kearsley (54:38):
That’s some,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:42):
There’s the side mouth. He sort of changes the line a bit.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:48):
Let’s

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:48):
Talk,

Don Ticchio (54:52):
That’s

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:52):
A bit more,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (54:55):
What did you say there?

Ed Kearsley (54:59):
That mouse? A bit more tense with the clenched teeth.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:02):
Yeah. And what were you saying Don? You guys jumping,

Don Ticchio (55:09):
What programme? What are you working in?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:12):
It’s just Photoshop.

Don Ticchio (55:13):
Okay.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:15):
I think I’ll finish a few things I’m working on and then maybe jump ship to something a bit cheaper.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:26):
Another prompt word Thorn.

Ed Kearsley (55:29):
That’s a good one.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:34):
All right. Now we’ve gone for a bit of a zombie bite. Certainly more, I’m more unsure now. I dare say I had it

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (55:51):
At the start

Ed Kearsley (56:03):
Since we’ve already got my panel and now we’ve got Don’s

Don Ticchio (56:14):
Somewhere down the track when this story progresses. So I like someone to actually be able to draw bitsy in panel where in a situation where his legs become telescopic

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (56:32):
As long as his legs are rolled,

Don Ticchio (56:35):
It seems they look like they could accommodate that

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:40):
Go gadget legs. I love

Don Ticchio (56:42):
It. Yeah, go go Gadget legs. Yeah,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (56:52):
I’m just looking at scarf continuity through the, it’s certainly an exhaust pipe in a few.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:00):
Yeah, it is. It.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (57:01):
It’s become exhaust plate. It really has. I can’t break it now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:05):
It was a exhaust coming out of a backpack in one of them.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (57:09):
Yeah, there’s some mean pictures there. Oh yeah. I can’t make it a scarf now. I get taken off the air. Oops. I might just skip it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:32):
Okay. I think this is a drawing programme. Affinity have six months for free at the moment. Is that what Yeah,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (57:38):
Some suggestions.

Don Ticchio (57:39):
Yeah, I just actually, because I’m getting the shits with Adobe, they’ve upped their prices on their plans and all the crap that they’re doing about who owns what and whatever. And you can’t buy the licence. You get a subscribe for ever in a day. Affinity was having a sale and I’ve been playing with the programmes. They work just as well as in design and for 130 bucks you actually buy the licence. That’s it. You don’t have to worry about anything else as opposed to almost a thousand dollars that I’m paying with Adobe. So I think eventually I’ll give Adobe away and just work with the other programme.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:31):
And we’ve got Shawnee saying that they love clip studio paint. That’s what I’m using.

Don Ticchio (58:43):
And the beauty about the affinity things, I’ve actually installed them on the iPad. I can instal ’em on as many electronic equipment that I have. Computers and iPads, a phone, whatever. Just in one price.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:04):
Yeah, that’s pretty cool. Betsy just said I made a switch from Photoshop to Affinity photo and I wish I’d done it years ago.

Don Ticchio (59:13):
Yeah. Oh there you go. Well, I’ve started playing around with it to see for the books and things that I do. How well it works. But so far I’ve tried out the illustrator version. It’s fine. Pretty much the same. Photoshop. Well, Photoshop. Photoshop, doesn’t matter who use it, but I think my IT guy was saying that Affinity’s Photoshop version is better than Adobe’s Photoshop. And I got to try that out. Sorry guys. I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:56):
Was wondering who that was

Don Ticchio (59:58):
With anointing.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:59):
So still and not reacting. I’m like, oh okay. That’s the, so boss, what’s the plan? Do we get everyone’s stuff together to show the page or?

Ed Kearsley (01:00:25):
Yeah, we just, I’ve got, got mine. So if we let Nick draw the face in there and then

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:38):
Oh yeah. Cool.

Ed Kearsley (01:00:39):
Get him to send his in.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:00:41):
Come on quick. Yeah, I’ll obviously be putting a lot more into mine, but I appreciate you guys letting me figure out some of the finer comic angles. Tilts.

Don Ticchio (01:01:03):
It’s fine. It’s interesting watching it Nick. Keep doing.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:01:09):
I liked talking it through you guys. I thought that was fun. Just seeing the input of what’s like, yeah, leave the head straight while the body air. I love that stuff. I wish I could just ask more about that process. But it gets difficult online and you know you’re being watched. It changes the way you operate a fan. Even now I feel like I’m running it 50%. I know. There’s just nice.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:48):
Yeah, sure. I do hate it when the audience forgets to turn off their

Don Ticchio (01:01:54):
Horrible, Hey, I’m old. My kids tell me off all the time. Here we go. And of course to them I’m the king of,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:21):
So that was you. Oh, okay.

Don Ticchio (01:02:25):
So is that a yes or a no?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:30):
I got a phone number from someone and it was someone’s butt, but I couldn’t make out who?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:02:34):
Someone’s someone’s butt. What do you call these classic cartoon gloves? Do they have a name?

Ed Kearsley (01:02:48):
I always call ’em Mickey Mouse.

Don Ticchio (01:02:49):
I always thought they were Mickey Mouse gloves

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:02:53):
Because Mimes wear ’em too. And I think they’re sort of linked to those horrible, what are those Gogo dolls called? The blackface dolls? What are they called?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:13):
I forget.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:15):
I think there’s, I’m not

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:17):
Sure there’s a name for it, but

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:19):
Because I’ve heard there is sort of some sort of minor racist touch to the white glove.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:27):
Oh,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:28):
But I’m not sure. Call Mickey Mouse

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:30):
Gloves.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:32):
It’s why

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:34):
Mouse? Nicko.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:37):
Gollywog. There we go. We’ve

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:39):
Got so many eyes are watching you. So many eyes and legs. Nick says is we’re also watching.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:47):
He wants the leg drop. A leg really wants just one these, is that what he is looking for?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:52):
Yeah, I think that’s what he is looking for. Just one leg up

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:03:55):
There. Certainly. It’s a different vibe. It’s sort of like, hey, let’s talk about payment plan.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:08):
It does change the vibe, doesn’t it?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:11):
I hate it. Let’s sort it out between us. What do you say?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:18):
Ah, gollywog. Yeah, that’s it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:20):
Yeah. Golly, you go.

Ed Kearsley (01:04:22):
It’s either that or bit’s trying to escape from the panel.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:26):
Yeah, I like it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:28):
I do like the idea that it’s trying to do a little zip on the way out.

Ed Kearsley (01:04:35):
Do you want to send your panel in Nick?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:38):
Sure. I’ll just bump up some stuff and make it more presentable. But that

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:50):
If it helps, I’ll go back to Ed’s picture. Will that help?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:54):
No worries.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:55):
So you can work at full speed instead. Half speed.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:04:57):
Half speed. It’s not really speed, it’s confidence is the issue.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:04):
You should be 100% confidence my friend.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:05:09):
All right. I can make this work.

Don Ticchio (01:05:13):
That is the key. It’s confidence. That’s why I admire people that could sit down and do characters in front of all these people and just with such a confidence that you can turn out a good job. I mean, I know a lot of it is engaging your sitter and chatting and relaxing everybody and you become comfortable too. But I could never do it.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:05:49):
All right, I’ll send you that with image. There we go. What happens if I should we not? No.

Don Ticchio (01:06:12):
Oh, that was interesting.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:06:18):
I’ll send you the whole thing and then you’ll do some. All right. Who am I sending that to

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:39):
Me if you want. If that’s easier.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:06:40):
Just on the F book.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:43):
Yeah, why not?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:06:44):
Cool.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:01):
Sorry, I forgot to throw in Nick May’s comment. It works so much better. I’m guessing he’s referring to when the leg was up there.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:07:08):
Yeah, that nice. I’ve sent that to your Facebook.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:14):
Thanking you sir. This will probably be quick, far unintended. Not really. Wasn’t intended just happened. But what we going, oh crap. Did I set this up? I didn’t set this up. So while Ed puts that together, I’ll share everyone’s Instagram.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:07:52):
Oh my.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:53):
Even Dawn,

Don Ticchio (01:07:55):
Is that what you’re asking? That’s what

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:57):
I was asking buddy.

Don Ticchio (01:08:01):
This

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:01):
One might be a bit quick again, no pun intended. There we go. Don. Woo. Read the words. No posts yet.

Don Ticchio (01:08:12):
I’ve got 20. Yeah, I don’t go for Instagram. I should, but I’d never,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:08:19):
There’s 23 people just absolutely waiting. They’re like, come on Don, we want so bad.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:26):
And if you look at the top, I’m one of them.

Don Ticchio (01:08:30):
I guess I’ll have to put something in the near future. Right.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:35):
Well we’ll go to the next one, which is Nick. Hopefully I’m following that one. Yep. Good. That was an embarrassing moment or anything.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:08:43):
Look at my last update.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:45):
Is this the right one?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:08:47):
Yeah. What do you

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:49):
Mean? Okay. I just know some people have lots of them because I remember you did these drawing things quite some time ago. That’s all.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:08:56):
Yeah, I do have a private personal one for like,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:01):
Oh, well I’m glad I didn’t share that one.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:02):
Family photos or whatever. But that one gets less action than this. So yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:11):
Nice.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:15):
There’s a lot there. There. I should do a few updates.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:25):
Oh, I haven’t seen this one. The Lego bgy.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:29):
Lego Bgy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:32):
Is that what it is?

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:34):
Yeah, definitely click on that. Drag flash. Let’s see. Drag flash a bit more.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:40):
This one full

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:41):
Screen.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:44):
Oh, it’s a bit of drawing. Okay. I didn’t realise there was a video. Cool.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:48):
Oh, I didn’t know either. There’s me working on poses.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:53):
I love the little flash down the corner

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:09:56):
Chatting away. This would be a TikTok.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:01):
It doesn’t say how long it is.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:10:05):
Oh, too long. These are the things I did while my girlfriend was watching RuPaul’s Drag Race and thinking, well what can I do? Oh, this is the only thing I’m allowed to watch. I guess I can turn this into something interesting.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:24):
Cool.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:10:27):
The big hair’s nice for a drag flash. I think it works. It

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:33):
Works

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:10:37):
With the flash bars holding up the hair as well. Some sort of, I’m not sure how well that video’s transferring, but I know that I grabbed, yeah, I do some legs for Nick May. I’m just like, I can get a bit more pop. Lift the crutch a bit. Let’s get the stretch marks around it. But like the bulge, you can’t ignore the bulge on a drag character. There you go. A bit of colour.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:06):
Nice. That looks at the end. Yep.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:11:09):
That one’s for you. Nick May

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:11):
Just for you, Nick, we’ve got quick Ed’s. Lots of pictures. That’s right. Ed, I threw you in there since you One of the artist drawers. That’s a very technical term. Ed Kiley Art. Find him there. Oh, and Quick was Detective Budgie? That’s me. Yeah, was the name. And John. Well, Don’s just on Teo, but

Don Ticchio (01:11:44):
Oh well. I guess

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:47):
We should get hundreds of followers for this account. That’s what I want.

Ed Kearsley (01:11:51):
Hundred.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:11:52):
I’m ready. Before you post

Don Ticchio (01:11:54):
Something up.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:11:56):
A hundred followers. One picture.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:02):
I’ll take

Don Ticchio (01:12:03):
This back in the day, I used to have things on Tumblr.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:07):
Oh cool.

Don Ticchio (01:12:08):
That’s still around. I don’t know.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:10):
I think it is actually. Yeah.

Don Ticchio (01:12:12):
Yeah. But I don’t spend the time. I know. I’ve been told with social media, you have to spend at least one or two hours a week to go in and service everything. Well, you do it every day. Most people do. I don’t.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:33):
Didn’t notice.

Don Ticchio (01:12:36):
I occupy my time with other things.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:40):
Smart man.

Don Ticchio (01:12:41):
Yeah. But if I was a younger person wanting to really get in there my career, I would. I’d be all over the place. But Rabis with all his stuff, all my daughters, they’re all over the place. But I tried, but no, it doesn’t grab me. Sorry

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:08):
Guys. Well, Nick May has put it out there. Maybe you could post some legs.

Don Ticchio (01:13:15):
No, my legs aren’t as good as they used to be.

Ed Kearsley (01:13:24):
Should we have a look at the page?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:26):
Yeah,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:13:27):
Let’s do it. I want to see it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:33):
Do you want me to add it? Yes.

Ed Kearsley (01:13:36):
Thank you. So here’s my one.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:13:40):
Well, the blacks in that are really popping.

Ed Kearsley (01:13:42):
Yeah. I decided to go with the shadow on the tummy and then Yeah, that’s Mess it up on the face. I’m going to have to figure that out later. But no, it’s working. Everything’s working. And got your 20 right here pal. The things it’s going to be, whoops, going to be black background with stars. So there’s my one and we’ve got tonnes of, yeah, well I have eight and again, where’s my 40 bucks

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:14:14):
Price?

Ed Kearsley (01:14:15):
Looks so good with all the,

Don Ticchio (01:14:17):
Yeah, I’ll fix ’em up when I send the final one since

Ed Kearsley (01:14:26):
I think they looks really good. The tentacles of trying to make fists.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:31):
Yeah, it’s awesome.

Don Ticchio (01:14:33):
Got to fix ’em up a bit.

Ed Kearsley (01:14:36):
And then we’ve got have

Don Ticchio (01:14:37):
Them more like put up your dukes like this.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:41):
Oh

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:14:41):
Yeah, yeah. It’s implied. It’s all there.

Ed Kearsley (01:14:45):
Got nicks. Let’s make a payment plan.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:14:51):
Unless I’m looking at these next to each other, I feel like if I make him smaller, it’s funnier. If he’s a bit just smaller in the frame, I think I can get more of a laugh.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:03):
Yeah. Make him look

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:15:06):
Bit more meek.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:08):
Yeah. And you’ll get the angle from

Don Ticchio (01:15:10):
Both of them.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:12):
Oh no, I’m on the wrong thing.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:15:14):
Just mine. And then, but again.

Don Ticchio (01:15:18):
Oh yeah, I see what you mean. You got the overbearing, daunting one, then the meek one at the side. Yeah. Yeah.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:15:26):
I want to be tiny in contrast, but if you’re tiny enough to get the legs in, that would be ridiculous.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:35):
Putting around there.

Don Ticchio (01:15:37):
I said that’d be good if you could do that across the panel.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:15:42):
What are you doing at the moment, ed? What’s your,

Ed Kearsley (01:15:47):
The directional device of having the weather. Oh,

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:15:51):
Drop down. Smaller and down. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Geez. Maybe the legs will fit in.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:59):
You could just shrink what you’ve already drawn.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:16:01):
Yeah,

Ed Kearsley (01:16:03):
Be quicker. But that’s the page that we’ve done today in today’s show. It’s page four I believe. I’ve just drawn all over it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:18):
Cool. Thanks. Or trap dog.

Don Ticchio (01:16:22):
Love the panels. Shane. If ever I come on this again, I will have mastered my iPad then I’ll actually be doing it digitally.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:35):
What’s this If, what’s this business when you come on this in the next season, my friend.

Ed Kearsley (01:16:46):
All right, so that is our show for today. Don’t forget to go check out the comic shop.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:16:55):
Yeah. Battle for Busle. Just in battle for

Ed Kearsley (01:16:59):
Bustle. There’s outlaws out soon. Is that out now?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:17:03):
No, that’s in there as well. Outlaws in there.

Ed Kearsley (01:17:06):
Outlaws there. Nick’s got books. I’ve got books there.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:17:11):
Just put some of my books in.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:17:13):
Yep.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:17:16):
Bundle guys. Get in there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:17:19):
Get the big bundles. Make me use the purple boxes. They’re the bigger boxes. Just so that reference makes sense.

Ed Kearsley (01:17:27):
Where do we get your books from? Don?

Don Ticchio (01:17:31):
You go to silver fox comics.com.

Ed Kearsley (01:17:37):
Okay.

Don Ticchio (01:17:39):
I think it’s dot com.

Ed Kearsley (01:17:41):
I’m sure it’ll come on

Don Ticchio (01:17:42):
The Silver Fox comms. It’ll take you to it. And you’ll see all our stuff on there where we’ll be redesigning or revamping the website to include a lot more merchandising there. Like the pins and t-shirts and what have you. Which we had at Supernova and they did quite well. So we’ll be adding to the merchandise and there should be a notification there that we’re working on the next BZA Adventure and the rise of the Killer Caucus. Hopefully we’ll start artwork. There it is. Silver fox.com au. We’ll start artwork hopefully in September for a release date next year. Maybe next Supernova in Sydney. Dunno. We’ll see how it goes. But yeah, that’s where you go. Still foxcom.com au.

Ed Kearsley (01:18:52):
Awesome. Alrighty. So thank Don and Nick for coming on the show and says, for pressing the buttons and the chat for all the help with the prompts and such forth. And we’ll see how that works out next week. And until then, there’s Dika draws tomorrow and there’s a bunch of other shows. I think there’s a show every week, every day of the week. Just about

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:19:21):
Every day of the week now. Almost.

Ed Kearsley (01:19:26):
Alrighty.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:19:27):
New crew. Tomorrow night there’ll

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:19:29):
Be new crew off week.

Don Ticchio (01:19:34):
So what’s tomorrow night’s drink and draw?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:19:37):
Fat, fat Woman.

Don Ticchio (01:19:40):
Oh cool.

Nick ‘Quick’ Cleary (01:19:42):
Oh God.

Don Ticchio (01:19:45):
I’ll sit in on that. I mean, I’ll be watching it. Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:19:52):
Thanks Don.

Don Ticchio (01:19:53):
Thanks. Very inviting me along to this fun event.

Ed Kearsley (01:19:58):
It’s always a pleasure.

Don Ticchio (01:20:02):
And how many pages is this going to go for?

Ed Kearsley (01:20:06):
20.

Don Ticchio (01:20:07):
20. Like the last one. And is the last one already being printed or in the process or what’s happening with it?

Ed Kearsley (01:20:13):
No, in the process I’ve made an ash can and it looks really good. Cool. Look at that.

Don Ticchio (01:20:23):
Cool, cool. Yeah.

Ed Kearsley (01:20:25):
Nice. But we will make a proper one at some point. Put it in the shop. Oh yeah. All right. Si, play us out. Yep. Goodnight all. Thank you very much. See you.

Don Ticchio (01:20:42):
Goodnight.
