(there will be errors in the following text)Voice Over (00:08):
Let’s make a comic book, but let’s make it a little bit different. Instead of one person or a team making the whole book, we’re gonna have every panel made by a different cartoonist. We are gonna do one page per episode. So the number of guests is the number of panels on the page. So now you’re probably wondering what’s this comic book gonna be about? Well, lemme tell you. It’s gonna be about a robot. This robot whose name is blank. What happens next? Nobody knows, but it’s gonna be fun finding out.
Edmund Kearsley (00:46):
Hello. And we’re back. I made Kiley and this is, let’s make a comic book. It’s a show where we make a comic book with a different artist for every panel. And we’ve got a scissors pressing the buttons for us tonight. And yep, we’ve got some guests here who are gonna be drawing the panels for us. We’ve got Brad,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14):
Hello
Edmund Kearsley (01:15):
And Rosanna. Hello. And we’ve got Rob as well.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:20):
Hey there.
Edmund Kearsley (01:21):
So first things first, we’re gonna take a look at last episode’s page, which was from last year where we had Ryan Vela, let me find my mouse. I can put that one up straight away.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:40):
<laugh>. <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:44):
There we go. We got,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:46):
Oh, there we go.
Edmund Kearsley (01:48):
Ryan Villa’s page with the die Freak. We’ve got hero blank is smashing the Fly Swatter. And then we’ve got the little diamond robot has caught the fly squatter fly sweater. It’s Adam Gillespie’s one, and then Sean Craig’s super hypersonic Nails of the winter Ferret missile barrage. Raj going in at the robot. It’s a super <crosstalk>. So someone
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:14):
Gets to follow that.
Edmund Kearsley (02:16):
Yes.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:17):
<laugh>. Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (02:20):
So we go to back to here.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:27):
Yep.
Edmund Kearsley (02:29):
All right. So the next part is we’ve gotta choose who goes first. So if you’re gonna put me to full screen sis Yeah. But the,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:38):
The three things removed you <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (02:41):
So Brad’s first. So you’ve gotta choose one of these three things. And these are all <affirmative> eighties toys that are grey coloured. Mm-Hmm.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:53):
<affirmative>.
Edmund Kearsley (02:54):
So you get to choose one of these guys. This is blue streak who’s not blue from the Transformers. A gon from sectors and Stratos from Masters of the Universe.
Brad Daniels (03:09):
I shall go Stratos. Thank you.
Edmund Kearsley (03:12):
Stratos. So that’s number three. So,
Rob O’Connor (03:17):
So you go last,
Edmund Kearsley (03:18):
Going last. And then for Zen you get to pick one.
Rob O’Connor (03:22):
Mm.
Rosanna Lam (03:26):
The second one, the one with the yellow blonde hair.
Rob O’Connor (03:30):
The K,
Edmund Kearsley (03:31):
That’s number two. Number
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:34):
Two.
Edmund Kearsley (03:34):
So rubs going first. It’s so,
Rob O’Connor (03:37):
Okay.
Edmund Kearsley (03:40):
let’s hold on a sec. Lemme show the,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:48):
Oh, you want me to show that?
Edmund Kearsley (03:50):
There you go. These are the three panel layouts. I actually, if we get number four then Rob’s going last. So we, but we’ll figure that out. So <laugh>,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:02):
Go for it. Go for
Edmund Kearsley (04:03):
’cause. Rob, Ana and then Brad. I think that was right. Yeah. Okay. So this is the hand of choosing. If you’ll put me back to full screen and Rob gets to choose, pick a number.
Rob O’Connor (04:27):
three.
Edmund Kearsley (04:29):
Three is number two. Two, which is, oops, number two. Is that one.
Rob O’Connor (04:43):
Cool.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:44):
So you got the top box, my friend.
Edmund Kearsley (04:46):
Yep.
Brad Daniels (04:48):
Classic
Edmund Kearsley (04:50):
Is 13.5 centimetres across by 7.5 centimetres down
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:57):
At 15.3. Do you mean
Edmund Kearsley (05:00):
15.3?
Rob O’Connor (05:01):
Yeah,
Edmund Kearsley (05:05):
That is correct. All right.
Rob O’Connor (05:10):
Ah, I see.
Edmund Kearsley (05:17):
And said, well, Rob’s getting his stuff sorted out. We can have a chat with Brad and Roseanna Ana. So Brad, have you got any, any comic books in the works or anything that’s come out recently?
Brad Daniels (05:38):
I got a heap of stuff that came out at the end of last year. I got issue two of Alpha Sprite, Tara, which I kick started and we had a launch at the Singapore Comic Con Convention. It went very well.
Edmund Kearsley (05:57):
Awesome.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:58):
Sweet. I’d,
Brad Daniels (06:00):
I’d show you one, but they’re in a box behind me, so I don’t know if that’s the best
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:06):
<laugh>,
Brad Daniels (06:07):
Best entertainment value me digging for a box. yeah. And Kickstarter backers have not received theirs yet. some are caught in the mail, but I’m gonna be sending them out next week. So something to be excited about there. I also did a collection collected edition of issues four, five and six of TA distributed Tell at the end of last year. Kickstarted that one as well. That went really well. and yeah, that, that’s all being taken care of, but you can still buy it at comics shop.
Edmund Kearsley (06:47):
Nice.
Brad Daniels (06:47):
yeah, I’m working on issue three of Alpha Sprites and I’ve got other plans for stuff this year, but that’s, that’s basically where I’m at in a nutshell.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (06:59):
I’m a bit slow, but there, it’s
Edmund Kearsley (07:01):
What’s alpha,
Brad Daniels (07:04):
Alpha Sprites are about the Alpha Sprites. It’s a fantasy. It’s a fantasy adventure. Alpha sprites are like magical girls who can grant wishes, but the wishes always go wrong. <laugh> starting out as a sort of lighthearted, sort of like romp and it’s gonna get I’m, I’m trying to inspired by ge Jeff Smith’s bone. Get it to start off sort of like lighthearted and stuff like that and get more and more epic as we go along. Oh, so
Edmund Kearsley (07:37):
Excellent.
Brad Daniels (07:38):
I’ll show you where I’m at with the page I’m working at, working on. We’re about to go, they’re about to go through a a portal to Oh, cool. Try and get an Artane artefact.
Edmund Kearsley (07:53):
Lemme put that on full screen.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:56):
Oh yeah. <laugh>. I’m beginning on part of the show <laugh> looks. Right.
Brad Daniels (08:04):
So it’s all the, all the alpha spikes gathered together, getting ready to go through a portal to the Sabre Coast.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:14):
Oh, very nice.
Brad Daniels (08:20):
Yeah. Let’s see,
Edmund Kearsley (08:22):
Rob’s got some stuff going on there.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:24):
Yeah, he does <laugh>
Rob O’Connor (08:27):
Trying to learn how to do the whole camera over the shoulder thing and I’ve never done it before, so
Edmund Kearsley (08:34):
You do it great.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:35):
He’s trying. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (08:37):
If you need to look at the last page Rob, we can bring it up on here so you can on the screen if you need to look at it.
Rob O’Connor (08:48):
Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:48):
Cheers. I think I sent you a copy as well.
Brad Daniels (08:51):
You sure did. Zoom
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:52):
In and so forth. I hope I did. You sure did. Okay. Before we talk to Sanna, sorry, Sanna, I’m gonna interrupt, but we’ve got some comments. Ben Sullivan says, Hey, great to see you back on Kerry Harris says, woo-hoo. Welcome back <laugh> and Marty Wells is Howdy crew. Kudos to all involved.
Edmund Kearsley (09:17):
Thanks Marty. Thanks. Thanks to Ben, Kerry and Marty for the comments. Yeah,
Brad Daniels (09:24):
They’re all right. I take back everything I said about ’em, <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (09:33):
And for Yeah. Have you, what books or art or anything have you been working on?
Rosanna Lam (09:41):
well, I guess the one that stands out because I guess it’s the most comic book, stylized one was a commission that I did probably end of, oh, I say like mid or end of last year. I wonder if I can share it here.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:14):
Oh,
Rosanna Lam (10:19):
There we go. so it’s just the one that I shared just now. it was for a guy that I met at a convention. I think he goes by the name of diary. He’s a photographer for like cosplays and all that. And oh yeah, he commissioned a, a Gwen Stacey piece for his partner, and this is what I came up with.
Edmund Kearsley (10:43):
That’s awesome.
Brad Daniels (10:44):
Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (10:46):
The the 3D glasses effect looks really good.
Rosanna Lam (10:49):
Yeah. I mean, I think it’s very heavily inspired by the, like the spider verse kind of movie style.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:59):
Yeah.
Rosanna Lam (11:01):
But yeah, other than that, I’ve just been doing a lot of character portraits
Edmund Kearsley (11:13):
Or your screen’s gone.
Rosanna Lam (11:15):
Oh, that’s all good.
Rob O’Connor (11:17):
Rosanna Lam (11:20):
Yeah, nothing, nothing much really. They’re mostly the things that I’ve been selling at conventions, like acon and the collectors for at the end of the year last year bit of Boulder’s gate from Boulder’s Gate three and some spider Spider-Man artwork as well, but been doing a lot of I guess like twitcher Moes as well, but Oh,
Edmund Kearsley (11:54):
Cool.
Rosanna Lam (11:56):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:58):
That’s cool.
Edmund Kearsley (12:00):
Fantastic.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:01):
I’ll just, but in there we’ve got Josh Elliot has just said really good sorry, really getting into these live streams. Thank you all involved. Thanks Josh. And Marty well says spot on, Gwen, I guess that’s, yeah. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. Thanks Marty.
Edmund Kearsley (12:16):
Thanks Josh and Marty. So, how’s Rob getting on there?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:26):
I personally can’t see, but let’s,
Rob O’Connor (12:29):
I’ll see you. I’ll see what I can do here.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (12:35):
Just see what’s going on.
Rob O’Connor (12:38):
Yeah, it’s very, very sketchy at the moment, but it’s, I’m basically doing that robot guy that’s just been not blank, the other, other one that’s been fired at. I’m gonna try and do a sort of a, yeah, it’s a kind of a matrix bend. Hopefully that’ll translate. Okay. With all of the rockets going past him and sort of trying to put in a plot twist. This is why you attacking. We are friends.
Edmund Kearsley (13:08):
Cool. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:09):
Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (13:09):
Excellent.
Rob O’Connor (13:11):
I thought I’d play on the fact that blank doesn’t remember anything.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:16):
Nice. I think you’re the first person who brought that into the story.
Edmund Kearsley (13:22):
That’s good to, yeah. Good Call back to page one at page 11.
Rob O’Connor (13:27):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:28):
Excellent.
Rob O’Connor (13:28):
Apologies for the, for the fun camera work, <laugh>. We’ll get there. I’ll work it out. So, yeah, anyway, that’s, I don’t know if, is that enough
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:42):
To, is
Edmund Kearsley (13:43):
That enough that
Rob O’Connor (13:43):
Other people,
Edmund Kearsley (13:45):
It’s in better focus now. If you wanna slide it into,
Rob O’Connor (13:48):
Oh, okay. There
Edmund Kearsley (13:51):
Ana can see that
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:53):
It was <laugh>. Oh,
Rob O’Connor (13:54):
Sorry.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:55):
Lemme try, lemme try my glasses.
Rob O’Connor (13:58):
Rosanna Lam (14:00):
All right.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:02):
I’ve already forgotten who two is.
Edmund Kearsley (14:05):
Two is za note,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:06):
I thought. Yes. I wasn’t sure
Edmund Kearsley (14:08):
I wrote it down.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:10):
Yeah, I should start doing stuff like that. <laugh>.
Rob O’Connor (14:14):
Hang on, I’ll, let’s see, how are we going?
Edmund Kearsley (14:21):
Oh, I can see blank now at the top.
Rob O’Connor (14:23):
Yeah, so blank’s in the top corner. The, in the background. The other guy’s gonna be in the bottom corner.
Edmund Kearsley (14:32):
I can see his little hands in the bottom corner. Four
Rob O’Connor (14:34):
Ground. Yeah. Rockets flying everywhere and yeah, very, very rough, but we’ll, we’ll slowly work on it as we go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:46):
Cool.
Edmund Kearsley (14:47):
Excellent. So Sanna, can, you can start if you want or you can.
Rosanna Lam (14:53):
Yeah.
Rob O’Connor (14:54):
Is that enough for you, Rosetta? Sorry,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:56):
Say is
Rosanna Lam (14:57):
Enough. Yeah. Yeah, that’s enough. That’s enough. Don’t feel
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:58):
Pressured.
Rob O’Connor (14:59):
<laugh>.
Rosanna Lam (15:00):
now is there a reference picture of blank something?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:08):
Oh my God, I’m horrible.
Edmund Kearsley (15:10):
Jeez.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:13):
<laugh>. I don’t think you, there’s one thing I forgot. I knew, there’s one thing I forgot.
Brad Daniels (15:18):
Hang on. If you look in the bottom left hand of the screen.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:21):
Oh yeah, that’s
Brad Daniels (15:22):
Sanna. You’ll see that’s there’s a picture of blank with Shane as his head.
Rob O’Connor (15:27):
Yeah. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:32):
Ah, what’s the upgrade? Not now. Not now. <laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (15:36):
Looks like that. So bloody says you only had 1 million jobs.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:42):
I’ve only got one job. Well, a few jobs, but you know, that’s one of a few <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (15:50):
It’s all I can use my thing again. Hold
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:52):
On. I’m trying to remember where I put that folder. Okay. oh man. Great. Live television. You’re welcome everyone. <laugh>.
Rosanna Lam (16:10):
I mean, I, I guess I can go off by the last page.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:15):
I will give it to you eventually.
Rosanna Lam (16:17):
That’s all good.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:18):
There we go. There it is. And I’ll give that to everyone else as well.
Rosanna Lam (16:23):
Ah, okay. Thank you.
Edmund Kearsley (16:27):
Okay. Double rubs going to the inks.
Rob O’Connor (16:33):
Oh,
Brad Daniels (16:38):
You is not mucking around?
Edmund Kearsley (16:40):
No.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:45):
Oh, I just sent that to someone else, I’m sure why I just sent that to them. Okay. We’re organised here. Oh, okay. Now I’m starting to see what’s going on. So like, zoomed in on the little fella?
Rob O’Connor (17:09):
Yep.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:10):
Okay. Ah, this is making everything else make sense.
Edmund Kearsley (17:17):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:20):
So I was seeing all sorts of weird things, even with my glasses I’m not seeing properly.
Edmund Kearsley (17:27):
Is is that a brush pen, Rob?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:30):
Yes, yes. Oh, fancy.
Edmund Kearsley (17:34):
I’ve never been able to use them.
Rob O’Connor (17:37):
<affirmative>.
Edmund Kearsley (17:40):
I think I pressed too hard.
Rob O’Connor (17:43):
It is a, it is a trick to, yeah, it is a different style of drawing
Rob O’Connor (17:48):
To drawing and it took me a while to get used to. Definitely.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:57):
And actually,
Edmund Kearsley (18:06):
Well, we can have a look at see what’s drawing.
Rob O’Connor (18:15):
Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (18:16):
Sick.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:17):
Thank you, ed, for doing my job. Cool. <laugh>, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing.
Edmund Kearsley (18:23):
Seemed a bit distracted there. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:29):
I just thought I should probably send a picture of the little monster thingy, diamond creature to everyone so they know what there is there. Just in case I need him. I’m, you know, can’t assume that he’ll be in that panel just in case.
Edmund Kearsley (18:54):
Are you gonna have any dialogue on your one Roseanna? Oh, it looks like,
Rob O’Connor (19:01):
Okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:09):
It all look straight away.
Edmund Kearsley (19:12):
Excellent. So Brad, you should be able to start going now too.
Brad Daniels (19:24):
Oh, I
Edmund Kearsley (19:27):
<laugh> don’t make me draw
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:33):
<laugh>.
Brad Daniels (19:37):
It’s, it’s performance anxiety. And this has never happened before. I swear.
Edmund Kearsley (19:44):
<laugh> at the, for you guys, the, the purple box. That’s the, the page cutoff thing. It’s the blue line.
Rob O’Connor (19:56):
Yeah.
Brad Daniels (20:05):
Righto.
Rosanna Lam (20:07):
Yeah. So that’s supposed to be like smoke as opposed Yeah, smoke.
Edmund Kearsley (20:11):
It looks cool.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:12):
Oh yeah.
Rob O’Connor (20:13):
<laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:15):
From all those missiles.
Edmund Kearsley (20:18):
This is good,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:21):
Brad,
Rob O’Connor (20:23):
I’m
Edmund Kearsley (20:23):
Sorry. You go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:25):
Yeah, I was just gonna say, and Brad, because you, your sharing didn’t work, you, you have to hold the screen up every now and again so we can see what’s going on, so. Oh,
Brad Daniels (20:33):
Fantastic.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:34):
Less stress. Less stress. You don’t get to watch your draw.
Brad Daniels (20:40):
Okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:46):
Oops, I’ve gotta turn off.
Edmund Kearsley (20:48):
So we didn’t get to ask Rob about your comic’s past, present, and future.
Rob O’Connor (20:57):
Ah my current comic is death Ship, Jenny. Oh yeah. Which has just I fudged a little bit and it’s not a new issue that I’ve just released. It’s combining issues one to four into one big volume
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:21):
And
Rob O’Connor (21:23):
In full colour. <laugh> in
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:25):
Full colour. Yes.
Rob O’Connor (21:26):
It, it got, it got, I got gave it the colour treatment. excellent. It, it was a good thing to do for me. I, it’s, it’s definitely those four issues are definitely one great big story. So it was nice to have them all in one spot so that if you wanna read the full story, you’ve got it with you. I’m just
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:50):
Gonna plug now, and it’s available at the comex shop com. You can get the old original black and white floppies
Rob O’Connor (22:02):
Or the og you get
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:03):
The new collected coloured version. Woo.
Rob O’Connor (22:09):
OG Jenny versus New look, Jenny
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:12):
<laugh> <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (22:19):
Ted, while we’ve got you here, sis, tell us about the, the Kickstarters that are going on right now for you. Oh yes.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:25):
So Comex Studio has two Kickstarters running at the moment. We have presents COMEX presents and com presents new are two books issue four of each. they’re in the same Kickstarter together. You can grab the colour one, you can grab the black and white one, or you can grab both. They have different stories in each. It’s not like their colour version of the other.
Edmund Kearsley (22:51):
Have you got some? So
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:52):
That is only got, I think there’s like six days left on it or something. So get in quick and the link for that, let’s see if I can find it. There we go. presents.com X studio, and that’ll take you to the well presents Kickstarter Comex Presents. And the other Kickstarter we have going on, I’ll put its link up straight away, is Foes by Peter Wilson. what can I say about foes? a a demon is someone from hell to take over the world and then another bunch of guys, someone a alien to take over the world. And they happen on the same night while they’re investigating the world. They run into each other in a coffee shop where they reach for the same donut and that starts the donut battle. And it is awesomeness, absolute hilarity. And what’s the other word I usually use for this? I can’t think of it, but it’s absurd. That’s what we’re gonna go with. It’s absurdity at its best, an alien versus a demon. It’s great fun. Alien
Rob O’Connor (24:09):
Versus
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:09):
Demon. I look to this copy because it’s got extra pages in it as well from the collected pages that it’s come from presents. So there’s extra stuff in there. There’s extra art, there’s extra pages. So it’s all good value stuff. 50, I think it’s 52 pages or 48. Don’t quote me on that one.
Edmund Kearsley (24:31):
And that’s by Peter Wilson.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:33):
That’s why Peter Wilson, he’s the man.
Edmund Kearsley (24:39):
Well, Peter did a, a pinup for my, they put me on full screen.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:50):
Oh, yep. Oh, I keep gonna remove people when they want full screen. Oh, I’ll take phones down as well. Sorry.
Edmund Kearsley (25:02):
Peter will send pin up of my, from my cover book.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:06):
Awesome.
Edmund Kearsley (25:08):
Nice. Show you what the cover’s got is a dude with a mullet
Rob O’Connor (25:18):
Dude
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:18):
At the moment.
Edmund Kearsley (25:20):
It’s an eighties crime story comedy thing.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:28):
Nice. Damnit, I was gonna leave you up so we can,
Edmund Kearsley (25:38):
We can have a look at Rob’s got a lot of stuff.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:40):
Yeah, I was gonna say, we could probably look at Rob’s now. Go, oh man, I keep gonna press that remove button.
Rob O’Connor (25:49):
Trying to remember that shape
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:50):
Button flashes up and
Edmund Kearsley (25:52):
Mm.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:53):
I go, oh, I should press it. And unfortunately it’s the button that kicks you outta the show. <laugh> <laugh>. Why they make that a big button in the middle? I don’t know.
Edmund Kearsley (26:10):
Get that.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:12):
That’s been awesome, man. Cool.
Rob O’Connor (26:15):
I’ve I the, with the pencils, I’ve only just put the the speech bubbles in there, but I’ll put them in digitally later. Okay. Just, just to keep the artwork, tick it along and I can move things about later on in post if I want to.
Edmund Kearsley (26:38):
Excellent. There’s Rocket. Cool.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:56):
And I should probably remind people that not only is this show back as you would’ve seen on Tuesday, if unless you missed it, chinwag was back. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. But also,
Rob O’Connor (27:10):
Yeah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:11):
Drink and Draw is back tomorrow night.
Rob O’Connor (27:13):
Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (27:15):
Excellent.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:16):
And that’s a fortnightly show now. we’re letting the hosts and so forth get a bit of a time with their family <laugh> on a Friday night such. Yeah. So, you know, have a wife and all that sort of stuff. Some of them were against it, but, you know, they were outvoted <laugh>. The people who wanted to see their family out voted the guys who didn’t. and Oh, so sorry. And there’s also one more show coming back and Carrie just gave out wool for this one ’cause she knows which one I’m talking about. amateur Hour with Sizzle Yes. Is back on Saturday afternoons. Yeah. So where you get to watch Sizzle, try to draw something. Oh, <laugh>. Thank you Jackie. Nice comment there. Hi, sausage Sizzle and Gang. Hey
Edmund Kearsley (28:14):
Jackie.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:16):
And Ooh. Jenny. Jenny or Microwave? Jenny
Edmund Kearsley (28:22):
<laugh>. I
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:23):
Don’t understand that reference.
Edmund Kearsley (28:24):
It’s from the, the Castle.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:27):
Oh, the Castle. Okay. Oh,
Rob O’Connor (28:28):
Okay.
Edmund Kearsley (28:30):
And they ask her, they’re talking about Jenny and say, is that Jenny? Jenny or Microwave? Jenny.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:34):
Oh, <laugh>. Oh wow. I like that movie. And I didn’t remember that.
Edmund Kearsley (28:45):
It’s a good movie.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:47):
It is a good movie. Tell Find a Generation. That’s what I,
Edmund Kearsley (28:58):
Oh, let’s have a, we go. Oh, can you go?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:01):
Oh, sorry. I was just gonna say, Nick Mays chimed in who needs family when you have drink and draw. Exactly. Nick. But you know, we were out voted. Whoa. You wanna, you wanna see what rose’s up to?
Edmund Kearsley (29:15):
Yes.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:17):
Yep. Cool.
Edmund Kearsley (29:22):
That was nice.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:25):
Oh, we’ve gone away. Hang on. Change to that one. There we go. <laugh>. Hit the wrong button.
Edmund Kearsley (29:37):
That blank’s looking good.
Rob O’Connor (29:40):
Hey,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:43):
Glad I found that picture for you. Finally. <laugh> looking awesome. Well, I like the smoke. I am liking, liking Rob’s twist. There we are friends.
Edmund Kearsley (30:12):
Mm. It’s a good story element.
Brad Daniels (30:16):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:17):
He tried to eat his friend. He was trapped in an egg. My god.
Edmund Kearsley (30:23):
Yeah. That, that brings up the, like the, the eyeball guy at the start when he pulled the knife on him.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:31):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (30:31):
After being nice to him. So wondering if he if blank owed him money or something.
Brad Daniels (30:40):
Blake is a man of mystery.
Edmund Kearsley (30:42):
He is. Yes
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:42):
He is.
Brad Daniels (30:47):
I’ll show what I’ve got done so far.
Edmund Kearsley (30:51):
Yes,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:51):
Please. Yep. I’ll whack you up
Brad Daniels (30:55):
If I can get my eraser working. Okay. So this is, I should give him a name, I suppose if he’s a character now.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:08):
Oh, you’ve introduced a character.
Rob O’Connor (31:10):
I,
Brad Daniels (31:14):
That’s I’m gonna call ’em Diamond Bill
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:19):
<laugh>. Nice. The critic gets a name. I love it.
Brad Daniels (31:23):
Diamond Bill. Standing in the shadow of blank saying, do you think that, don’t you think there’s more to life than just violence and fighting?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:36):
Nice.
Brad Daniels (31:37):
Because that’s all blank has known for 10 pages.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:41):
Yeah, that’s true. One
Brad Daniels (31:43):
Panel of one panel of of affection.
Edmund Kearsley (31:48):
They, they the good hold one panel. Romance.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:52):
Yeah. <laugh>. Love that one. Panel Romance got the likes coming in. We’ve got the hearts coming in. Come on. People keep pressing those hearts and likes.
Edmund Kearsley (32:11):
And if you’re watching on YouTube, subscribe. If you haven’t
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:15):
Ah yes, subscribe to the channel so we can make more of these lovely shows to entertain you and ourselves.
Edmund Kearsley (32:27):
And you’ll get notifications when scissors amateur hours going up.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:32):
Yep.
Edmund Kearsley (32:34):
Did you pick a thing yet?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:38):
Yeah. Yeah. It’s I’ve decided to, it, it’s foes to celebrate Foss Kickstarter. I’m gonna try to draw his characters. Excellent. So I’m gonna try to draw both of them. He sent me a whole heap of references and I’m like, I usually just copy another pitch. <laugh> references is no good to me. I can’t make up something from scratch. From scratch. Oh, well I’ll give it a go. That’s all I can do. Just give it a go. That’s what Craig just said. Care. I should say Care just told us. Just give it a go, <laugh>. Sorry. She said if she has to watch, everyone else has to watch <laugh>. Oh dear. So check back in on Rob, you reckon?
Rob O’Connor (33:38):
Nah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:40):
Yeah, let’s get a bit of a closeup going on. Oh, loving the little blank over there.
Rob O’Connor (33:51):
Got some blank action happening over in the corner.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:57):
Oh, I see what you mean. Now the whole matrix dodging the Yeah, the, the, the missiles above it. I love, I can see it <laugh>. It’s excellent. Did anyone else throw his hands like that? ’cause I’m loving that.
Rob O’Connor (34:24):
Oh, see, I’m looking at his original, the very, very first page.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:28):
Oh, okay. Where he is? No, not, not blank. I mean the, the, the creature. Oh, I’m loving those hands. I dunno if that’s how they were, but I’m loving them now.
Rob O’Connor (34:39):
Jazz hands. What’s the name of, what’s the name of the character now? Brad Diamond Bill. Diamond Bill. Diamond Bill Hands,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:50):
Diamond Bill, hands All Bit.
Rob O’Connor (34:53):
That’s what we say now instead of jazz hands.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:56):
<laugh>. See, this is why I’m enjoying digital. That looks like one little thing wrong there. And it’s What do you do? <laugh>?
Rob O’Connor (35:23):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:26):
I use that back button a lot when I’m drawing it digitally.
Rob O’Connor (35:30):
You tap dance a lot, sis. That’s what you do.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:33):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (35:37):
Or you, you can also you get the light box out and redraw it all.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:43):
Oh, hey Drew, I like the back button better.
Edmund Kearsley (35:52):
And you can also get a bit of paper and cut it out and stick it on with the, the correct drawing on there.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:01):
Ah, yes. I’ve seen people do that. Like the, the, the what do you call it, the original art for the, the comic has little bits stuck on it.
Edmund Kearsley (36:11):
Hmm.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:12):
So cool. I never knew they did that. That was something I learned through doing all this.
Edmund Kearsley (36:19):
That’s why the, like the artist editions and stuff where they have the, the really high res photos of the original art and you can see all the, the white out and all the stuff that they’re like the prove guys like the, I’ve got the Walt Simonson one and, and a couple others and they, they white out tonnes and tonnes of stuff where you think that they just like smash it out perfect every time. But these guys make just as many mistakes. It’s really cool to see that.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:58):
Hey Rob, did you just change your mind about something
Rob O’Connor (37:02):
Maybe
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:04):
<laugh>? I thought so. I, I couldn’t quite make out, but it looked like there was a whole whole bunch of lines under that black.
Rob O’Connor (37:11):
Oh, that was, that’s where the other speech bubble’s going to be.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:14):
Oh, okay. Which I’ll,
Rob O’Connor (37:16):
Which I’ll chuck in a bit later.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:19):
Well, Rob can rob Ed. I don’t know why would you Rob then Ed can put the speech bubbles in after you’ve scanned it.
Rob O’Connor (37:29):
Okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:30):
Yeah. Ed’s good like that. He can do stuff for you.
Edmund Kearsley (37:35):
A service that we offer.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:36):
Free troubles. Actually, the rest you gotta do yourself.
Edmund Kearsley (37:39):
Yeah. <laugh>
Rob O’Connor (37:42):
Fair enough.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:44):
Like you put my crap in there for me. Thanks for that by the way. On my drawing
Edmund Kearsley (37:53):
Page is at seven.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:56):
Yeah. See more than just a speech bubble. It’s a,
Edmund Kearsley (38:02):
We call that Morgan’s crap in there as well.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:05):
Yep. That’s why he did it actually. <laugh>, I spoke to him later. He did that so that he could say the same thing I said
Edmund Kearsley (38:15):
And then Bo just went for it and did his own <laugh>. True Maverick.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:22):
Good stuff. Bo
Edmund Kearsley (38:25):
That’s like, there’s some stuff going on on Zen Zen’s drawing as well. There s
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:33):
Yep. I’m pressing the wrong buttons. Oh, it wants to go to that one again. We wanna see us though. Woo.
Brad Daniels (38:46):
Oh,
Edmund Kearsley (38:49):
It’s looking good.
Rob O’Connor (38:53):
It’s
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:53):
Looking exit. No new comments.
Edmund Kearsley (39:05):
Get some comments in guys. So it’s gonna
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:08):
Sos can ramble on. Don’t make me ramble on my own stuff. <laugh>
Rob O’Connor (39:14):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:20):
Ah, Adam, Adam Gillespie goes. Everything looks great.
Edmund Kearsley (39:27):
Thank you Adam. He was under the last episode.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:33):
It was too
Edmund Kearsley (39:37):
Me
Brad Daniels (39:37):
Through where? I’m up, up to, to Shane there.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:42):
Okay. Yep. I’ll skip one over to you Brad, show us what you got buddy.
Brad Daniels (39:50):
Oh, I just emailed it to you.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:53):
Oh, you emailed it to me. Sorry. I wasn’t, I was I thought it
Brad Daniels (39:56):
Might look a little bit better than just holding up the screen.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:00):
Yep. I emailed it. Oh crap. Now I gotta find email. Hang on, I’ll get there eventually. And me being me has many emails.
Brad Daniels (40:21):
<laugh>. Alright. Send it to the So
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:23):
Which one did he send it to? Oh, he sent it to the one where the session has expired. Nice. And I have to guess my password.
Brad Daniels (40:33):
Awesome. Perfect.
Edmund Kearsley (40:34):
That’s fine. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:35):
No, it’s all good.
Edmund Kearsley (40:40):
Have we got a comment from Nick? Me seeing an impressive bunch of arts?
Brad Daniels (40:49):
I will change his mind yet.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:51):
<laugh>. <laugh>. No you won’t sir.
Brad Daniels (40:56):
Early days, Nick. Early days.
Edmund Kearsley (40:58):
Give him a chance.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:09):
Okay. Now to go back to the show.
Edmund Kearsley (41:17):
It’s a perspective line. Always fun to draw with a the old ruler.
Rob O’Connor (41:26):
Yeah.
Brad Daniels (41:27):
I think there might be some speed lines coming in there.
Rob O’Connor (41:33):
Definitely trying to make it the layout look a little more dynamic. we’ll see how we go. The joy of making it up is on the fly.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:47):
I know you did that wrong. Control Z. Control z <laugh>. Oh,
Rob O’Connor (41:53):
There is no controls headset. <laugh>. Fake it. Fake it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:59):
<laugh>. I’m just having fun. Okay, I’ve got Rob, I’ve Rob, why do I keep wanting to say Rob? I’m calling everyone just, everyone’s called Rob. Rob one, Rob two. Rob three. Rob four. And
Rob O’Connor (42:15):
I know you love Mes
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:17):
<laugh>. Here’s Brad’s pick. Who was interrupt
Brad Daniels (42:26):
<laugh>. So the outline of blank is a shadow.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:28):
Yeah. That’s awesome.
Rob O’Connor (42:33):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:35):
I love it. Give us more of it.
Brad Daniels (42:41):
Diamond Bill has gone from a very simple design to a very complex design in short order.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:47):
That is the beauty of let’s make a comic book.
Edmund Kearsley (42:52):
Mm-Hmm.
Rob O’Connor (42:53):
<affirmative>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:55):
Oh, we’ve got another comment. Hopefully it’s not something I have to censor. <laugh>, everyone should give Rob some voice work such, I don’t know that word. Dset.
Edmund Kearsley (43:11):
Dset tone.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:12):
Oh, okay.
Rob O’Connor (43:15):
Oh, okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:15):
Oh, we got a question for the digital people. What’s your application of choice when drawing digitally?
Rosanna Lam (43:24):
Photoshop and Clips Studio.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:32):
Nice.
Brad Daniels (43:33):
And I do everything on the iPad, so I just use procreate.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:39):
Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (43:39):
Nice. I use,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:41):
I question Josh. Oh, sorry. Yeah, that’s right. Yourself, ed?
Edmund Kearsley (43:47):
Yeah. I use Clip Studio.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:50):
Yep. Cool.
Brad Daniels (43:54):
I I’ve been thinking of getting in the book Clip Studio, so you guys obviously would recommend it.
Edmund Kearsley (44:01):
Yeah, it’s it’s really good for making comic books.
Brad Daniels (44:05):
Oh, that’s what it’s designed for, right?
Edmund Kearsley (44:07):
Mm. Think it used to be called Manga Studio back in the day. Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:16):
Oh, okay. Well I guess I draw digitally. I wouldn’t call myself an artist though. And I use Clip Studio and an iPad.
Edmund Kearsley (44:32):
Oh, there you go.
Brad Daniels (44:36):
So Clip Studio on the iPad there, Shane.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:40):
How to put it, sorry.
Brad Daniels (44:43):
Clip Studio on the iPad.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:45):
Yeah. Yeah, it’s on the iPad. Yep. I bought it through the weird thing that Apple does. I don’t know. It was, it was all very confusing because I’m not an Apple person. <laugh>, but Telstra had a special on iPads and I went for it.
Brad Daniels (45:00):
Right on.
Edmund Kearsley (45:02):
It’s usually on sale too. The Clip Studio. So I got a new computer at the end of last year and I had to buy it again and I got it for like 12 bucks.
Rosanna Lam (45:14):
Sweet.
Brad Daniels (45:14):
I think. Wow.
Edmund Kearsley (45:15):
Yeah, I think I, I’ve bought it, I think I bought it four times a lot now.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:30):
Oh wow.
Edmund Kearsley (45:39):
You got some more comments there? Says
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:42):
Yeah. Yeah. I was just about to jump into them. Nick Mays like, yeah, Brad Procreate for the second place and
Brad Daniels (45:53):
Strike some shade. <laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:56):
<laugh>. and Joshua says, I’m learning on a Samsung tab S eight Ultra. the sounds of it I need to change to Apple. I don’t know if you need to, you just, if you’ve got Clip Studio, I think it works on most things. I know other people use Clip Studio and what are those things called? Wacom? Is that, is that the name? Yeah,
Rosanna Lam (46:23):
That’s, yeah. Wacom.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:25):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (46:27):
As long as you’ve got a, like a precious sensitive pen.
Rosanna Lam (46:31):
Yeah,
Edmund Kearsley (46:32):
You’ll be
Rosanna Lam (46:32):
Fine. I feel like Photoshop can get a bit clunky if you’re just using it for drawing.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:39):
Oh yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (46:43):
So a lot of people colour in Photoshop.
Rosanna Lam (46:46):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (46:48):
So the comic book stuff.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:50):
Oh, okay. So draw it in Clip Studio and then colour it in Photoshop? Is that what you’re saying?
Edmund Kearsley (46:56):
Yeah. Oh, so I do, I do everything in Clip Studio, but there’s, there’s more effects and stuff in Photoshop.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:05):
Oh, there you go. Josh. Little Landing
Edmund Kearsley (47:13):
Can see there’s some grey scale stuff. Looks like on Ana’s.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:17):
Yeah, it’s looking cool.
Edmund Kearsley (47:19):
Drawing.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:20):
I forget that no one else can see it except me and Ed. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>.
Edmund Kearsley (47:24):
That’s a good shading.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:26):
That’s awesome. Oh,
Rob O’Connor (47:27):
Lovely. Oh wow. Nice.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:35):
Oh we’ve got the y gday mates from sped
Rob O’Connor (47:41):
Gonna say that.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:43):
Just sped. So Oh, <laugh>. <laugh>. I thought my screen’s stuffed up there. <laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (48:04):
That’s called layers is
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:08):
Yes. Layers. I try to, I’m trying to learn them as well. These layer crazy layer things. Trying to learn them. So far I have background layer, drawing layer and <laugh>. Yeah. So I’ve, you know, getting there slowly, baby steps.
Edmund Kearsley (48:30):
It’s good stuff. I draw on the wrong layer all the time.
Rob O’Connor (48:36):
<laugh>,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:37):
When I drew blue beetle, I tried to use the colour bucket on a different layer than the drawing was. I didn’t understand why it kept colouring everything
Rob O’Connor (48:55):
<laugh>. Hmm.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:58):
Because I was on a different layer. Crazy layers.
Rob O’Connor (49:09):
<laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (49:12):
Put their haircuts in their music
Rob O’Connor (49:15):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:27):
So should we annoy Rob again? Although I’m having fun watching this. No pressure rose now. No pressure.
Rob O’Connor (49:40):
I think it looks better
Rosanna Lam (49:42):
With it with the solid black background.
Rob O’Connor (49:45):
There you go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:46):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (49:46):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:59):
Nick May says, don’t get cheeky admin. And Josh Elliot jumped in with a, I’m enjoying layers. someone is, I guess <laugh> they definitely make it easier. I just need to remember to label each layer so you’ve got that many layer layers that you need to label them. Oh my God, what am I doing wrong? I don’t need to label anything. It’s one, two, and three. There we go. It’s easy to remember each one.
Brad Daniels (50:29):
It all starts out easy. Says
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:32):
<laugh>. No, the layers part is easy. The drawing part is still hard.
Brad Daniels (50:40):
I got like, I think I had 26 layers on one of my pages for
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:46):
Holy moly
Brad Daniels (50:47):
For office rights. And that’s not outrageous for some, some people’s work.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:53):
Wow. Ah, Nick May Sanna. That is a wonderful panel.
Rob O’Connor (51:02):
Oh, thank you. It’s true.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:06):
Thanks Nick. Oh, we’ve got a question for Rob. I think it’s a question. Yeah, it’s a question. <laugh>, when you finish the hand drawing, you scan it in and tweak it later. Question mark.
Rob O’Connor (51:40):
Yes.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:41):
Or do you do all with pencil and ink?
Rob O’Connor (51:46):
it depends on how well the pencil and ink ended up. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:50):
<laugh>, awesome answer. <laugh>.
Rob O’Connor (51:55):
I know like, I’ve just finished doing the caricature res resolution challenge, so Oh
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:07):
Yeah, I saw that
Rob O’Connor (52:08):
Like October. But they gave you 31 names to do each day of different Yeah, it was a lot
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:16):
Of fun to watch
Rob O’Connor (52:17):
Of different celebrities and I tried very, very hard not to touch any of them digitally. ’cause that was the whole point as far as I could see. And then there were some days where no <laugh> we’re gonna have to move that eye
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:38):
<laugh>
Rob O’Connor (52:39):
Or Yeah. That, that head shape looks a bit weird. Not in a good caricature way, in a bad caricature way. So yeah, it, it all depends on the success of the original, but I do try to keep it pure. I hope that answers the question.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:03):
I reckon it does.
Rob O’Connor (53:04):
Sweet.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:11):
I should think of a question
Rob O’Connor (53:13):
<laugh> ask.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:16):
What can I
Rob O’Connor (53:17):
Ask?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:19):
No, Shane, that’s mean.
Rob O’Connor (53:22):
<laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:28):
Now I’ll leave it to the audience. Come on. Questions people. I can see you all watching. Yes, that’s right. I can see your faces.
Rob O’Connor (53:44):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:48):
There are cameras in your screens.
Edmund Kearsley (53:51):
Let’s let’s take a look at Rob’s. He’s got some white going down.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:01):
Oh, nice.
Rob O’Connor (54:05):
I’ll try. And let’s see. Whoop. Nope, come on.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:10):
Oh,
Rob O’Connor (54:12):
There we go. It’s paper starting the curl up now.
Rob O’Connor (54:17):
Nice.
Rob O’Connor (54:19):
There we go.
Edmund Kearsley (54:21):
Looking very cool.
Rob O’Connor (54:25):
because I know that there’s gonna be a some text there and some text there. There’s, that’s <laugh>. It looks like there should be some detail there, but there isn’t right now. So Yeah. There we go. Hang on, I’ll try and put this back where it was. Lovely. There we go. Oh, awesome.
Edmund Kearsley (54:48):
So what are you drawing the white stuff with?
Rob O’Connor (54:51):
let’s see. So that for large areas and one of these guys for, let’s see, sorry for specific for the really high highlights. Sorry,
Edmund Kearsley (55:09):
Is that a gel pen?
Rob O’Connor (55:11):
It’s a gel pen. Yep.
Edmund Kearsley (55:13):
What type of pencil is the other one?
Rob O’Connor (55:16):
the other one’s just a regular white colouring in Petzel. Okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:21):
Hmm.
Rob O’Connor (55:22):
Which is, which is the beauty of working in on, on craft paper. You can sort of muck around with highlights ’cause you’ve already got a texture there. So Yeah, that’s,
Edmund Kearsley (55:41):
It’s really effective for the the white.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:53):
Oh, most of the time we’re almost there, ed.
Edmund Kearsley (55:57):
Oh yeah. So if presenter and Brad wanna send what you’ve done so far into Ciz and Rob, if you wanna take a picture and send it to Ciz and then I’ll slap it down onto the page and we’ll get like a preview page going. Mm-Hmm. <affirmative>. And then you can finish off whatever you didn’t get finished tonight later on. And send it in when it’s done. Okay.
Brad Daniels (56:39):
Oh, I know I started last, but I am well behind everyone else here.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:45):
That’s cool. It’s understandable. It’s, it’s just for a like a, like a preview type page just to get a feel for what happened.
Brad Daniels (57:00):
Anything to get a feel.
Edmund Kearsley (57:03):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:03):
Oh dear
Rob O’Connor (57:04):
<laugh> do you want a JPEG or a JPEG’s?
Edmund Kearsley (57:14):
Fine. JPEG’s good. That
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:15):
Is fine. And you can send it to my messenger or the email. It doesn’t need to be high res.
Brad Daniels (57:28):
I’m sending a screen capture. I hope it’s okay.
Edmund Kearsley (57:34):
That should be fine.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:35):
Yeah, just make ed work harder. I like it. <laugh>
Brad Daniels (57:39):
Nice. Always
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:41):
<crosstalk>. Oh, hang on. I meant to do something when that happens. Oh, I haven’t got that one either. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (57:47):
Nice work.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:48):
Oh, nice work. Okay. While I’m waiting for those images to come in, I will quickly, oh dear. Dearing me, what show was I on again tonight? What, what am I doing? Drink and draw. This is drink and draw, right?
Brad Daniels (58:08):
That’s right.
Edmund Kearsley (58:10):
<laugh>, someone been drinking?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:12):
Someone’s been drinking and it’s not the people drawing. oh crap.
Rob O’Connor (58:27):
Hopefully
Rosanna Lam (58:27):
That’s sent through.
Rob O’Connor (58:29):
I
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:30):
Yeah, I saw something come through, but I’m just quickly jumping into here, setting up the things I was meant to set up.
Rob O’Connor (58:41):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:43):
Oh dear. I don’t know how you put up with that s fellow Ed. I just dunno how you do it. <laugh> nice. <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (59:01):
I think I need to make a little video so it plays a song and <laugh> has static and stuff and bring that up.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:09):
Oh, I haven’t got Ed’s name on here. Okay.
Edmund Kearsley (59:16):
Oh, I got one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:19):
That’s one. And Brad, you sent it to the email.
Brad Daniels (59:22):
Yeah, there should be two you haven’t seen yet at the art email if that’s the right one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:27):
Yep. Yeah, that’s cool. Go
Brad Daniels (59:28):
For the latest one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:31):
I just have to go back. It’s been
Brad Daniels (59:34):
A real challenge to carry on a conversation while working on this stuff.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:42):
You did a very good job.
Brad Daniels (59:46):
I wasn’t fishing for compliments, but I’ll take them <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:50):
I know, I know you won’t, but I’m still giving them
Brad Daniels (59:55):
Damn yous.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:58):
<laugh>. it’s the latest one outta the two. Yes. Okay, cool. I was meant to show the other one.
Brad Daniels (01:00:10):
Oh, it was there in case you wanted it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:13):
Oh, thanks.
Brad Daniels (01:00:14):
It’s, it is. I only sent it like five minutes before the last one, so don’t worry about it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:18):
Oh, okay. I’m getting really lost on my own computer.
Brad Daniels (01:00:28):
Sounds like a Black Mirror episode.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:42):
And Rob is taking our photos as we speak. Is that right?
Rob O’Connor (01:00:45):
Just sent it to you, mate. On, on the face. On the face of
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:48):
Books. The face of book. Ooh, tricky.
Rob O’Connor (01:01:10):
Okay,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:11):
Now let’s take that over there so I don’t accidentally show that on the screen like I did the other episode. Flashed up a private conversation while we’re meant to be looking at everyone’s Instagram. Oh,
Rob O’Connor (01:01:25):
<laugh>.
Brad Daniels (01:01:28):
Nice.
Rob O’Connor (01:01:30):
Okay, so
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:34):
Look at your, I’ll get there eventually. Gents and ladies and everything else.
Brad Daniels (01:01:44):
Righto.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:44):
Including your pet cat. Doug, around the right place. Yes I am. Okay, cool. Hang on next one. <laugh>. I’m so organised. Just ask me. I’ll tell you. Don’t ask Ed though, he’ll tell you something very different. <affirmative>
Brad Daniels (01:02:10):
Lies. Damn lies. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:16):
So nice. For our first show back we’ve got some comments I could have a look at. We got Nick May saying hold the Sory Devils. And then he also says, nothing can stop Brad from Talking Legend. And then we’ve got a question from Emmanuel Knees saying, is there a drink control tomorrow? And yes, there is.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:43):
Yes there is my friend. Okay, now I can do the part that I was meant to do. And how do I do this again?
Rob O’Connor (01:02:52):
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:53):
Share screen. That’s what you wanna do. We wanna share. That’s the one. Now we’re gonna start with Rob. I think it comes up automatically. Yes it does. We’re looking at Rob’s Instagram that I wanna keep saying is Rob oconnor, art
Rob O’Connor (01:03:16):

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:53):
It’s wicked. Well then we’ve got personal photos. Woo.
Rob O’Connor (01:04:01):
Hey <laugh>,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:04):
You wanna try to, so, alright. Okay, there’s Rob’s, we’re given, we were given Ed a bit of time here. We’ll have a look at Brad’s. Brad’s got a nice mixture of things going on on his Instagram.
Brad Daniels (01:04:17):
Yeah. There’s some pickies from Singapore Comic Convention. Aforementioned.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:22):

Brad Daniels (01:04:41):
Well, I’m working on three.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:44):
Oh oh now I’m confused again. Working on free. So they were right. Oh man. Just ruined it for me. I was wrong.
Brad Daniels (01:04:55):
My pleasure.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:56):
Thanks Brad. Okay, we’ll look at more of your pictures. Try to cheer me up
Brad Daniels (01:05:04):
As the towels. Stupid to towel. Yep. There’s some drink and draw action there.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:10):

Brad Daniels (01:05:13):
Caricature. Okay. Ah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:17):
Can you see the, can you see the mouse? Yep. That little look at that shirt. Excellent shirt. Look at that. Just like Ed’s, I was gonna call Rob again. <laugh> crying out loud. There’s the cool picture that I kept thinking something went in there. Oh, there it is there. And Big. I thought it was like a photo frame or something.
Brad Daniels (01:05:46):
Oh yeah, but it’s a void. It’s the infinite void of space. It’s breaking your mind, man.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:53):
<laugh>. Ah, cool. And now over to Roses. Woo. Oh, click this face. Oh, that’s been gone.

Edmund Kearsley (01:10:26):
Got another page in the books. So we’ll be back next week with page 12 and a whole new gaggle of artists to help us make a comic book. And we thank Siz for occasionally pressing buttons,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:48):
Occasionally doing the right thing.
Rob O’Connor (01:10:49):
<laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:50):
Not so often, <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:55):
And is there any last comments before we hit Derek?
Rob O’Connor (01:10:59):
That’s a lot of fun. Yeah, it’s cool.
Brad Daniels (01:11:03):
Absolutely. Go to comic shop,
Rob O’Connor (01:11:05):

Oh really? Oh cool.
Brad Daniels (01:11:19):
Yeah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:21):
There’s the thing. Lemme put that up. I’ll leave that up now while I go to the comments. Not being selfish or anything. <laugh>. Adam Gillespie says Rosanna’s Daredevil is rad. I’m gonna have to break out hail and give it a reread. Ah, Omni Bow is like, sorry, tonight is my Friday. Which yes, that’s right. He has tomorrow off. So Makes sense. sick Burn. I think that was for Ed aimed at Siz and learned a lot listening to you all. That’s from Josh Elliot. Thanks for watching Josh. Oh yeah. Thanks for watching. And Omni Bow tells Too Stupid to Tell Is the shi I won’t say what he said. What? So he’s saying it’s great. Oh, no, <laugh>.
Brad Daniels (01:12:14):
Oh gosh. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:20):
He’s saying it’s great. I’m just not repeating the word he said. okay. because I don’t know, I can’t remember what our rating is. I can’t remember. I don’t know. I probably could have said it. Who knows. I believe that’s all the comments. So that would be the end of the show. Thank you very much everyone who watched. Thank you very much for the artists who drew some awesome pictures and can’t wait to see the finished versions and the finished page. And yeah, see you next week when we show the next page, show this page, sorry. And draw the next page without next three guests. Maybe three guests. I don’t know. I haven’t sorted it out yet. I’m not doing anything that I’m meant to do, <laugh>. Anyway. Good night everyone. Thanks. Thanks for watching everyone. Cheers.
Rosanna Lam (01:13:11):
Night.
