Voice Over (00:00):
I am trying to do the, oh damnit. Sorry about that. I was getting into the song and I forgot to take this picture down.

Ed Kearsley (00:53):
Hello and welcome to another episode of Let’s Make a comic book where we’re making a comic book where every panel has a different artist. I’m your host, ed Kiley, and today we are joined by David Shery, Shaden J and Sean Craig. And we’ve got S back pressing the buttons and now we’ll get stuck straight into it and we’ll take a look at last week’s page where we had Stu Thornton, Andrew Law, Andrew Lamb continued the adventures of bitsy the traded cat. So we’ve got Theus has given bitsy a squeeze, but the long shot and then the closeup of the octopus’s face and that’s where our guests will be following on from. So try this one. So we’re going to pick the panel. We’ve got the layout on the wheel of layouts,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:00):
Wheel of layouts

Ed Kearsley (02:01):
Love. And here we go. Let’s see which one it is. It is,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:08):
Oh, I love the blank space one.

Ed Kearsley (02:10):
That one. Okay. So if you put the screen back to normal sis.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:19):
Oh yeah, sorry.

Ed Kearsley (02:21):
And I shall find this one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:25):
I was just getting ready for the private chat. I was getting ahead of myself portion

Ed Kearsley (02:32):
Private chat. And then there you go. There’s the link for everyone to get their layout.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:39):
Thank you. And

Ed Kearsley (02:43):
Now we have

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (02:45):
Shoot over some layouts to people,

Ed Kearsley (02:48):
The important business of choosing which order we go in and get a round of applause for the hand of Choosings, how to glow up. Put me to full screen. So we’ll start with David. Do you get to pick a number?

David Schembri (03:09):
Oh, I’ll pick number three please.

Ed Kearsley (03:11):
Number three? Yes. Number two. So you are second number two,

David Schembri (03:18):
Second in line. No worries.

Ed Kearsley (03:20):
And Shaden, you get to pick,

Sheydin Dew (03:24):
I’m going to pick number four.

Ed Kearsley (03:26):
Number four.

Sheydin Dew (03:28):
Yes. Yes, please.

Ed Kearsley (03:29):
Is number one. You are

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:31):
First.

Ed Kearsley (03:36):
Sean is number three.

David Schembri (03:39):
Oh yeah, again,

Ed Kearsley (03:42):
That’s right. You got the lucky last time. Yeah. See, while you guys get set up over, everyone

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:53):
Get my email? Just checking

David Schembri (03:57):
Email. Email. Yes. Something’s coming

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:59):
Through. Oh, not you David, because you’ve got it in here.

Ed Kearsley (04:03):
So they send the private chat.

David Schembri (04:05):
Yeah,

Ed Kearsley (04:07):
We have a text

David Schembri (04:12):
Sheet’s, a private chat. I’ve got the page and it’s cool. And just get ready.

Ed Kearsley (04:19):
We’ve got a, well you

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:20):
Going to set that up and stuff? Unless Ed has something to say, I’m going over top of him.

Ed Kearsley (04:27):
I was just going to say we’ve got a piece of fan out, got sent in.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:32):
Oh yeah, of course. And then I’ll go to the comments.

Ed Kearsley (04:34):
Yeah, show that off before we, while everyone’s getting their stuff in order.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:41):
Yep. And it is from, well David,

David Schembri (04:48):
That’s that’s my practise.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:50):
That’s your practise. I

David Schembri (04:52):
Didn’t know you were

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:52):
Going to publish it.

Ed Kearsley (04:56):
Lost

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:56):
Someone.

David Schembri (04:57):
That was good fun.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:59):
Yeah, Shane’s internet was pretty bad. Oh, I’ll be in the big square for now. And here she is,

David Schembri (05:10):
Number two. Number two

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:17):
Maybe. Ah yes.

Sheydin Dew (05:21):
Internet here is not very good sadly. So I apologise. Your

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:25):
Phone on the window still works better.

Sheydin Dew (05:28):
It does, it does in my, it works so much better than here. So I’m very surprised and this is a router and everything so I dunno what’s going on. So apologies, I’m just downloading my page. I’ve had a bit of a delay so excuse me for a while.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:45):
Cool. Well you do that. I’ll read out some comments to give you a bit of time. I might bring these up as well. We’ve got a whoop, whoop,

David Schembri (05:53):
Whoop

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:55):
And Sean, I think I was given permission to say Shawnee. I think so I’m going to go with that even if I’m wrong, then we’ve got a best way to start. Thanks. Woohoo. Season two. You’re a bit late Aaron. We started a few pages ago, but thanks. The electricity in panel three is amazing. Oh, thanks Shanie. Nick May. Hey art people, what will Bitsy get up to today? Happy creating. I’ll just put that up anyway so people in case I pronounce things incorrectly, you can see what I’m trying to pronounce. Robbie, hi all. Get my hand in there. Applause for fancy hand. Ah, nice. You’ve got a fan. Fancy hand. Lee Chalker. I dunno, that’s a picture of a bird. Thanks. He’s given us the bird.

David Schembri (06:59):
Happy bird. That’s

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:00):
What doing, but I’m just going to go with that because it amuses me. And then Benny Jay is this is happy crowd of creators I’ve stumbled upon. Are you each of this channel? Benny?

Ed Kearsley (07:12):
Welcome Benny.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:14):
Yeah, welcome.

Ed Kearsley (07:17):
Get to watch us, make a comic book live in front of your eyes.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:25):
Watch me resist the urge to eat these donuts.

David Schembri (07:30):
Why are you trying to resist them? Just eat them.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:34):
That’s a bit rude. I Mexican show. I’ll be like,

David Schembri (07:37):
You’ll be alright. I was eating before, but that was before we went live. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:43):
Exactly.

David Schembri (07:44):
I had to have my Monte Carlo.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (07:47):
Oh, hang on. Oh, okay. Yep. This is Benny Jay. He’s coming on his YouTube channel. Awesome. I’ll follow that my friend. Subscribe. Sorry, is the word on here is just not right now.

Ed Kearsley (08:10):
All right,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:11):
How are you going Jayden?

Sheydin Dew (08:14):
Sadly not good. I’m doing some interviews trying to download, sorry.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (08:21):
Oh, the internet of course

Sheydin Dew (08:23):
IPad and it’s just not connecting with my laptop. I’m usually on my desktop because Spanner in the works unfortunately.

Ed Kearsley (08:31):
Should we call whatchamacallit and swap you with David so you can go second

Sheydin Dew (08:41):
Me? I’m holding. Yeah, maybe that might be a better idea because,

Ed Kearsley (08:50):
Or does Sean want to go first because he got to go third last time.

David Schembri (08:55):
Oh, that’s right. Yeah, you’re up Shane if you want

Ed Kearsley (09:01):
Zach, what do you want?

David Schembri (09:02):
Sean? Sean? Hello? Yes, sorry. Would you like to go first mate or do you want to stay in third spot? Actually I might go first if everyone’s okay with that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:21):
Did you get the layout so you can draw it up?

David Schembri (09:24):
No, I haven’t yet.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:25):
Oh really? I’ll see if I’ve sent it to the wrong email.

Sheydin Dew (09:31):
I’ve just caught up to speed so I’ve got it here if we want to maintain the original order, if that’s

Ed Kearsley (09:39):
It. Yeah, let’s go back to

David Schembri (09:40):
The the original.

Sheydin Dew (09:42):
Back to the original. Okay. I’m the last page, I’m actually scoped that Rose Lamb was on last and she actually did the last panel, if I’m correct, which, so I’ve got big boots to fill Rose Lamb, she’s amazing. And she’s also an Adelaide creator as well. So to follow after her as a bit bit, I’m thinking perhaps maybe some conversation between Bitsy the cat and the octopus maybe to introduce the thing. And usually last time when I was on the show my iPad was actually hooked up so people could see me drawing lifetime. But again, because of the technical difficulties, I have not been able to do so. So I’ll describe when I’m drawing and I’ll try and periodically show you guys thinking. I don’t know, do you have a name for the octopus maybe?

Ed Kearsley (10:55):
Yeah, the octopus needs a name. Get some ideas from chat for the Octopus’s name.

David Schembri (11:05):
Yeah, yeah,

Ed Kearsley (11:13):
We’ve got special guest astro boy on the show today. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:16):
Thank you Astro. Well will you be drawing which panel? Panel four.

David Schembri (11:22):
He’s he’s my apprentice. So when I’m at my light table, just getting my dimensions out better than looking at nothing. So yeah, he’s part of the studio space. He’s just a pain when the jets on his feet light up, they burn my books, gets excited.

Ed Kearsley (11:49):
He’s got machine guns in his bomb.

David Schembri (11:52):
That’s right. That’s a pain too. When he had too many burritos.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:59):
Sorry, I’m just trying to get the info to Sean. So excuse my absence.

Ed Kearsley (12:06):
I’ll have a look at the comments. Oh God, eat the donut siz and good luck art people. That’s do Thornton there. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Got to love the NBN from black Ruby Comics. Eloquent. Sophisticated dialogue between bitsy and the octopus. That sounds good. And we’ve got an algin on as a suggestion. Snicky call it prawn the octopus from Aaron is like, no way. Call it whale the octopus.

Sheydin Dew (12:52):
Oh my god, I like whale. Yeah.

Ed Kearsley (12:53):
And then we’ve got Toby and here’s a space octopus. So cock,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:03):
I like that.

Ed Kearsley (13:06):
So, so far we’ve got Algin, prawn, whale, Toby and Spock as suggestions.

Sheydin Dew (13:15):
I mean I think it’s just funny calling an animal a different animal’s name.

Ed Kearsley (13:29):
It could lead to some. Interesting.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:31):
Now I’ve got to find the show. There it is. Okay, I’m back. If you get that one Sean, it might be going to your junk because I’m just sending you a link from shane@comex.net au. I can give that out to everyone because that’s the open up.

Sheydin Dew (13:54):
Does anybody agree what I’ve got far just to give you guys some ideas.

David Schembri (13:58):
Yeah, that’d be great.

Sheydin Dew (14:03):
Let it adjust. So I’m planning on doing a closeup in this lateral panel here.

Ed Kearsley (14:10):
Put that full screen.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:12):
Oh yeah, sorry.

Sheydin Dew (14:15):
Yeah, so I’m going to do a closeup of just his eye and then I might even just put a little speech bubble down below maybe saying, I don’t know, I feel like I would say something like a toast or something. I dunno. Something.

David Schembri (14:34):
I love it. You’re giving me something to go on with. So yeah, start. I’ll start. No, that’s awesome. That’s awesome.

Ed Kearsley (14:41):
Drew that quick too. So it looks really good. Thank you. So we’ve got Council Octopus who’s half crocodile, so you could call him Counsellor Och, which spells

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:54):
Crock

Ed Kearsley (14:57):
Spot. Could go meta and call her Kitty. Looks awesome already. Just true. And your toaster? I’m a whale.

Sheydin Dew (15:13):
Okay, all right. I like that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:15):
Cool. I’m back Ed, sorry about that. Did you get the details Sean?

Shaun Craike (15:22):
I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (15:22):
Know I’m yelling

Shaun Craike (15:23):
But I’ve actually this should be that same size wasn’t it?

Ed Kearsley (15:33):
I could just tell you.

Shaun Craike (15:36):
Yeah, just tell me

Ed Kearsley (15:38):
It is. Which layout was it? This one? 5 3 0 5. I think it’s the same. It’s the panel you got last time. Yeah,

Shaun Craike (15:48):
Yeah.

Ed Kearsley (15:49):
So what is there just

Shaun Craike (15:50):
Measurements off that.

Ed Kearsley (15:58):
Yeah, so you’ve got the same page again, the same panel. No way. Brian Fellow and Adam Gillespie. That’s Sean’s panel there. Alrighty.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:20):
That’s freaky.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:23):
I

Ed Kearsley (16:28):
So sis tell us about some stuff while these guys are

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:40):
Yep. Well theyre all working away. I have actually got some news that I can share. So this is, thank you for that, ed. The first bit, it’s not in order. Some things are happening before other things, but I’m just going to read it in how I wrote it down. Stu Thornton has got Outlaws issues one and two or he’s calling chapters one and two coming out later this month. I don’t have an exact date just yet because a lot of it is reliant on postage between one side of Australia and the other side of Australia. So we’ve got to work around that. But he is wanted by the authorities and hunted by the underworld. Very cool art, very cool story. So yeah, issues one and two coming out at once or chapters one and two, sorry coming out at the same time so you don’t have to wait for what happens next after one. So that’s pretty cool. Tomorrow we’ve got drink and draw. The theme is Iron Man, please start sending your Iron Man. Iron Man, iron Man Art. We’re talking any armour hell, it can be just Tony Stark. So just send that in. Let’s see if I can find the address that you send it to. Rather than saying it, I’ll just show it on the screen. Yes, there it is. Cool. So just send in your, well you submit your art at that page, there’s a form to fill out, you upload your image and you send it. Give us all your details. Then we can share it better on Instagram after the show as well.

(18:18)
So that’s yeah, COMEX Show slash Art after Ironman the next day. I don’t know why I did this to myself, but amateur Hour will be me drawing Iron Patriot who is just as hard to draw as Iron Man, so I dunno what I was thinking there. So yeah, that’s an hour of ridiculousness and me trying to draw Armour. And then the big announcement, battle for Bustle volume two issue one will be available in the shop on Monday. It is exclusive to the Comex shop, so we’ll have a little bit of a celebration on Monday probably to announce it at the very least, A sizzle rant and yeah, talk

David Schembri (19:10):
With Lee too.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:14):
He works full time now, so I don’t know, maybe if I do it you’ve got to show on Monday nights, so I don’t know how I’ll do that. Maybe I’ll record with him something over the weekend.

David Schembri (19:24):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:31):
Of course. Monday nights, now that we’ve mentioned it, that show is actually Comex recent reads. That’s where we get a group of people together with me and Ed. That’s right. You can see a lot of me and Ed learn to love us or else. Yeah, we talk about comics that we’ve recently read and then at the end we recommend a comic that we’ve read anytime in our lives. If you are interested on being on that show comics show slash interest, let us know. You don’t have to be a creator, you just have to be someone who reads comics. Let us know that you want to be on the show and we’ll get you on there and you can chat with us. It’ll be great fun. So yeah, that’s all I got. Sorry,

Ed Kearsley (20:22):
Got any comments?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (20:27):
Yep, we’ve got Shawnee. Haven’t been corrected yet so I guess I’m allowed to say that. Dang it just had an Ironman idea. I’ll have to draw now. Yes, draw now. Awesome. That’s what we’d like to hear.

Ed Kearsley (20:39):
Send it in.

Ed Kearsley (20:47):
We will check in with David and see how’s your drawing going?

David Schembri (20:54):
Yeah, I’ve got a little bit of a sketch happening, but no expressions yet. Just a bit of a shape of the panel if you can.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:03):
Hi. Cool. Close of the other.

David Schembri (21:08):
Yeah, so close up of bitsy there, just the top of

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (21:12):
The helmet. I’m sorry, I keep forgetting that.

David Schembri (21:14):
Haven’t got the expression quite yet. I was actually just going to ask showed in what she was sticking to put in her speech bubble, so then it’ll come,

Sheydin Dew (21:28):
I’m going to go with some of the ideas that are come through the comments and I am going to stick to my guns with your toast and I’m a whale

David Schembri (21:42):
That gives

Sheydin Dew (21:44):
Add a little bit more interest I guess, but also it might be worth also letting you know that I’m actually thinking in the eyeball actually going to put the reflection of Bitsy and Oh

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (22:00):
Cool. Yeah. Oh wow.

Sheydin Dew (22:02):
Yeah, so it’s quite a big closeup. So yeah, bit’s going to have quite a scared reaction in the reflection of the eye.

David Schembri (22:11):
That’s great. That makes sure that I’ll follow suit with an equally scary reaction.

Sheydin Dew (22:18):
Okay, cool. But I think, what are you guys thinking? Maybe we could just in the direction of maybe they become, they form an alliance maybe or I don’t know, what are you guys thinking? What’s your ideas?

David Schembri (22:31):
Well that could be something that Bitsy could probably say sort of hold up, hang on a minute. We’ve got the same role or whatever, so we’re fighting the same enemy or something along those lines. Or

Sheydin Dew (22:44):
Maybe it like, oh my god, I love Leos or something like that. Something like that. Maybe they can have a mutual ground over.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (23:00):
We got Billy Jay saying that the eye reflection is an awesome touch. Oh, thank you. Shawnee is is that all? Don’t make it too easy for yourself. I think that might be a bit of sarcasm that I read really badly. Oh yeah. And Aaron said that’s not a, well that’s an octopus silly. So going back on his own words, Sean. Sean, well we’re waiting for you to get a bit more clues. Tell us about Comic Street. How’d it go? Yeah, it was all right.

Shaun Craike (23:45):
I would say it was just a bit weird. There wasn’t as many creatives as there was last year.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (23:52):
Oh really?

Shaun Craike (23:54):
Yeah, there was a bit less, but there was still people that showed up and I got to have a chat with some people on that and got to sell some stuff. Probably wasn’t as good as last year, but it was still good.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:12):
That’s awesome.

Shaun Craike (24:13):
But I got to have a talk with some other creators there and stuff. It was kind of like a hanging out.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:22):
Oh, that’s cool. Then I’m a bit bummed that I missed it then.

Shaun Craike (24:27):
Yeah, I was actually a bit bummed you didn’t show up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:30):
Sorry buddy,

Shaun Craike (24:36):
But Gary Dewell was there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:40):
Yeah, I heard that.

Shaun Craike (24:42):
Yeah, I actually got to read some of the comic that, but we swapped

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:50):
Nice

Shaun Craike (24:51):
For the read, so I’ve got to read all these tabia in the magic pencil.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (24:56):
Comic created currency. I love it. Swapping of comics. Yeah,

Shaun Craike (25:00):
So if Gary is watching tonight, I just have to tell ’em when’s the next issue coming out? Come on, chop Chop.

David Schembri (25:14):
It’s pretty cool. It’s a pretty cool series.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:18):
It is

Shaun Craike (25:20):
That Sky Cabins library. They’re probably the best Australian kids comics that I’ve probably read. They need to have more of that stuff coming out probably for younger readers.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:36):
Yeah,

David Schembri (25:37):
Pete Land’s a great writer. It’s an awesome idea. But I think I’m down on a couple of issues actually, so I’ve got to hunt him down and update. So I’m up to date on the story.

Shaun Craike (25:52):
I’ve only got two issues with Sky’s. Kevin worry. I know he is up to four. I mean I, I’ll have to contact if I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (25:59):
Can. Somebody has three.

Shaun Craike (26:02):
Yeah, the fourth with those drawn out dad guys, they get to do a team up with their creation. Spell Kitty.

David Schembri (26:12):
Yeah, I’m a big fan of Spell Kitty actually. Yeah, they’re they’re great guys.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:22):
We’ve got a y Gday mates. Guess that’d be a hard one to guess who that is. And then Aaron Mack is Peter Lang. Great karaoke voicey too. We shall never speak of it again. Oh dear. So all drawn up. So you are saying toast, what is it again?

Sheydin Dew (26:59):
Toast. I’m whale.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:02):
Okay.

Sheydin Dew (27:03):
I’ll show you guys what I’ve got so far. I’ve just started doing a reflection in the eye just for some reference for you guys. Maybe if you full

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:21):
Buddy.

Ed Kearsley (27:23):
That’s awesome. Yeah,

Sheydin Dew (27:26):
So I’ll keep putting in the details and put in little speech bubbles. So yeah, your toast I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:42):
Things of karaoke. Nice.

Ed Kearsley (27:45):
Check in with David again to get Sean drawing.

David Schembri (27:53):
Okay, well mine’s just starting to get, I’m just working on the expression at the moment. Get a closeup.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:01):
Oh he is looking scared. Oh those tears. Tears.

David Schembri (28:07):
It’s probably leaning towards saying, hang on a minute, we can talk about this.

Sheydin Dew (28:13):
I like it.

Ed Kearsley (28:18):
Shortens away.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:20):
Yeah. Good stuff. Didn’t even have to ask. You’ve done this before, haven’t you Sean? Yeah,

Ed Kearsley (28:31):
He knows that bottom corner panel. Well

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (28:36):
Dear and all Scared Bitsy Aaron Mac.

David Schembri (28:43):
It’s more intense compared to season one and I blank picked up a little bit more as the comic went on, but this one sort of fight on a lot of cylinders.

Ed Kearsley (29:01):
Blank was constantly attacked by everything.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:06):
Everything

David Schembri (29:08):
Started getting

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:10):
Everything you came in contact with. Poor fella, we’ve got no Breaking my heart with that drawing David from Shawnee.

David Schembri (29:31):
Oh, bit’s tugging on some emotional heartstrings there.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:37):
Work in the crowd. I love it. Yeah,

David Schembri (29:39):
That’s right. As a little kitty. Should

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (29:54):
I keep pressing buttons to get me out of the screen? I mean I don’t think we’ve had everyone drawing this quickly before. I’m a little bit stuck on what to do.

David Schembri (30:08):
We’re raising the benchmark man.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:10):
Yeah, you are. Everyone watching who’s on next week, but yeah, we expect everyone drawing in the first half hour or else. Or else you’ll draw it later. Hang on. Just so you all know, although you probably already know this because you’ve been on the show before, but you don’t have to finish it during the show so don’t feel you need to rush.

David Schembri (30:44):
That is true.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:46):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:48):
So I think with shows like Drink and Draw gives the impression that you’ve got to finish it during the show, but we are not drink and draw. We are superior except when I’m on drink and draw and then when I’m on CXRR it is superior calling it that because I’m lazy and I can’t say comics recent reads, which isn’t that hard to say, but you do have to finish your drinks. Right. Actually I have a thing that I say, oh I’ve forgotten now Billy. Yeah, that, oh God, now I’m having a mind blank. I just wanted to say something. Drinking is optional, drawing is not. So that’s what I tell the guests when I invite them. Drinking is optional but drawing is not

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:59):
I,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:00):
Which I then don’t draw or drink. So

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:03):
Bit of

David Schembri (32:05):
Rules for the end, not for me.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:08):
Do what I say, not what I do. Flashbacks to my childhood.

David Schembri (32:16):
That line was in Dust Till Dawn as well, wasn’t it?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:19):
Oh really?

David Schembri (32:20):
Never Dust Dawn. Yeah, I’ve

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:22):
Seen it a very long time ago.

David Schembri (32:24):
Remember George Clooney said to Harvey Tel, do what I say, don’t do what I do. When he was about to pick a fight with the bikers in the club before all the vampires started eating people, sorry, spoil alert if no one’s seen that movie. Spoil

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:42):
Alert. Yeah, I was going to tell

David Schembri (32:45):
I won’t see anything more on it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:47):
Anyone that’s a good decade or two late in seeing that you

David Schembri (32:51):
Spoil. Don’t spoil that 30-year-old

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:57):
Bastard.

David Schembri (32:59):
Yeah, no I get all the hate mail now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:10):
Funny thing Billy, about the whole drinks thing. When we first started drink and draw 115 episodes ago, we all drank and that lasted about what, four episodes before we started going getting tipsy on cameras a bit much keeps saying things he shouldn’t say. So some of us stopped,

David Schembri (33:33):
Started about I’d never saw them. So they’re getting a lot of slurred speeches and luckily

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:42):
No one got that drunk

David Schembri (33:45):
Blasted. Oh that’s good, that’s good. As long as that didn’t

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:47):
Happen. Oh, onion Field. Hello from Orlando. Hello.

David Schembri (33:55):
Hey.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:55):
Hey Paul is well there. Thanks for joining us. We’ve got some new people, this is awesome. So we’re just creating, oh hang on. For the new people I will throw up some pictures so they can see what’s going on. This character here was designed by three people at the beginning of the series. So we’ve got Bitsy, the tradie cat, if you guys are American, you probably dunno the term tradie. It means contractor people do like your electricians and stuff. So that was our character Jam. And then we’ve got our comic jam, which you’re watching happening right now. And just to give you a bit of a look. See that was the first page by Chris Pitcan, Mel Briggs and Laura Smith. So that was how it started off what, two weeks ago? Yeah, two weeks ago. And last week was this one by Stu Thornton, Andrew Law. Look, I know who it is, but I still have to read it President Lamb

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:12):
Because

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:13):
I know I make mistakes if I think with my brain instead of with reading.

David Schembri (35:18):
They don’t think with your brain.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:23):
No, no, not me. That’s the last thing I want to think with. No, I’m good. That drunk. I look at some of Ed’s early work. Oh, interesting.

Ed Kearsley (35:39):
It was that one time I was out with my friend and then forgot that I was supposed to do the show, so I rushed home with a belly full of beer got on the show.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:52):
So instead of drink and draw, you were doing Drunk Drunken Draw. Nice. And you still whipped out an awesome piece of art. So that was, yeah, but everyone does love these shows. Awesome. Amazing art all the time. Except when that Siz guy draws. That’s a bit mediocre.

David Schembri (36:19):
Don’t talk yourself down. You’re awesome mate.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:22):
I’m boosting everyone up. I’m the tide that is rising the ships. Oh, sloppy Tunes. Or Alex as we like to call him. Meja a gang.

Ed Kearsley (36:41):
They got two of the three Bitsy fathers.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:48):
Yeah, we did. Peter, where are you? Come on, chop.

Sheydin Dew (36:59):
All right. I think I’m the, as best as I can, I’ll show it. It’s a little bit more of a realistic take on bitsy, but otherwise I’m pretty happy with it. Hold on, let me just zoom in. Awesome. It’s, he’s absolutely terrified, very realistic. Kind of old man face.

Ed Kearsley (37:25):
That looks so good.

David Schembri (37:27):
That’s very

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:31):
Unfair. My computer froze for quite a while there before I get to see it.

Ed Kearsley (37:37):
Let’s get a look at David’s

David Schembri (37:41):
Progress. Yeah, sure, sure, sure. No, I’m actually getting close to finishing the pencil side of things and Sweet. Once I get into some inking, but I’m quite happy with the way it’s looking at the moment.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:58):
Oh sweet. That’s

Ed Kearsley (38:00):
Great

David Schembri (38:02):
That it’s going to come up really, really good.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:06):
That’s awesome.

David Schembri (38:07):
Trying to think of maybe future directions being that she’s a tra cat. Mr. Octopus is probably displeased with some of the work that she did for him and maybe you had a whole breach or something with some of her welding. Maybe

Ed Kearsley (38:27):
She’s

David Schembri (38:28):
Talking about her free repair policy or something like that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:37):
And we have ourselves some more comments. Shawnee’s talking about rough, the silly idea of Iron Man for tomorrow night. For anyone who just joined us tomorrow night, drink and draw some iron Man, send them in. Once I get home, I’ll see if I can actually do it. You can do it. There’s no scene.

Ed Kearsley (38:55):
We believe in you.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:57):
We believe in you thoroughly and totally. And a hundred percent Lee, if that’s a word. Awesome. Aussie artists drink and draw quotes. Indie comic enthusiast might have found my home. Nice.

Ed Kearsley (39:10):
Welcome home.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:13):
Like and subscribe. Just saying, saying, I don’t know. Voices fine. Share it while you’re at it. Yeah, do that too. I mean, it wasn’t me saying it. Okay. What have we else we got here? We’ve got Nick May. He’s saying I’m so proud, but not a lot of legs in this page.

Ed Kearsley (39:32):
That’s true.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:33):
That’s true. Sorry, Nick Aaron is, that’s the cutest little scared bitsy. Oh, it was that you My phone silly. Jumped back to the start of the stream. Oh no, really? Oh, exactly. There was a lot more pressure involved with the aquarium ship in space.

Ed Kearsley (40:12):
It’s got the water pressure and the air pressure

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:19):
Draw more legs late, late, Alex, the drawing has been pretty thoroughly done. I think

Ed Kearsley (40:27):
We’ve got to see what

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:28):
Sean’s got. It. Made a good control of it.

Ed Kearsley (40:31):
We get a closeup of Sean’s drawing.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:36):
Yep. I’ll see if we can see what he’s up to. Oh, doing the big block letters. Nice. I can kind

Ed Kearsley (40:46):
Says, where is

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:47):
You doing now? Yep. Cool.

Ed Kearsley (40:58):
I guess that says dollars. It looks like bitsy owe and money all over town.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:17):
Never too late to add legs and bums. Nice one. Alex legs. Two little

Ed Kearsley (41:28):
Dips.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:35):
That’s looking awesome, Sean. Yeah.

Shaun Craike (41:39):
Yeah. Thanks.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:44):
I’m liking where you’re taking the story. I like it.

Ed Kearsley (41:47):
Yeah. Good little twist.

Shaun Craike (41:50):
Yeah, the spiral come. Little spanner in the works.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:56):
Spanner in the works. Is that a pun?

Ed Kearsley (41:59):
Oh yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:39):
Was there anything we needed from the comments to get people going to help us with the next page? Are we doing that?

Ed Kearsley (42:47):
We’ll do that next week if we can. Oh,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:50):
Okay. Sorry. Hello buddy Cat. Doug wants to come see what’s going on

Ed Kearsley (42:56):
There. What’s Doug up to?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:58):
Doug is standing there meowing at me or squawking as I like to say because his meows are really weird. No, he’s given up. He’s walking away. Didn’t like what I was saying.

Ed Kearsley (43:08):
He’s not the only cat in the comics stable now.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:12):
He’s like, it takes my spot. We’ve got a why do I hear a baby? There is a baby. There’s

Ed Kearsley (43:22):
A little baby.

Shaun Craike (43:24):
That’s my little baby. There’s

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:25):
A small child in the, not the audience on the camera, on the camera area. I don’t know. I can’t think on stage

Ed Kearsley (43:36):
In the microphone area.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:41):
Within the microphone. Yeah, whatever.

Ed Kearsley (43:44):
Practising to be a tra cat.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:47):
Yes. Excellent response there. Red’s like how cute. Nice. Yes. It’s Sean and his apprentice.

Shaun Craike (44:07):
Yep.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:14):
I was wondering who I’m talking about when I say Sean. That’s the darker half name in there. Citizen of my screen.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:24):
Citizen

Shaun Craike (44:25):
Of Raku.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:27):
Cool.

Ed Kearsley (44:27):
It’s from all the June talk and the last couple of shows,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:35):
Boy or girl were being asked. I forget Sean. Sorry girl.

Shaun Craike (44:45):
It’s a girl. Her name’s a liar. She’s actually just turned 10 months today.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:53):
10 months

Shaun Craike (44:55):
Happy months time. She’ll actually have an official first birthday.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:03):
You always forget the first.

Shaun Craike (45:08):
Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:10):
What are you doing today? We are drawing bitsy, the tra cat who’s had a bit of a incident with an octopus, a giant space octopus that we found out in the last panel. Someone owes someone money. I can’t make out which one owes which money. I’m assuming its the octopus. Octopus

Ed Kearsley (45:32):
Is telling Bitsy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:33):
Yeah,

Ed Kearsley (45:34):
Asking him Bitsy. Where’s the money? Where’s the money? Bits bki.

David Schembri (45:42):
Well, she gotten herself in the trouble with the space mob octopuses.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:48):
Yeah, apparently. So. Sounds like she’s having fun in the background. I believe that would be for you, Sean.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:59):
Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:00):
I would say I agree.

Shaun Craike (46:03):
When she’s old enough, I’ll be giving some colouring in books to do some colouring while I’m doing my drawing. Probably own little sketch pad or whatever.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:19):
Nice. We’ll be expecting coloured in pictures of that week’s theme for drink and draw. Just saying,

David Schembri (46:30):
Well, before you know it, she’ll be a teenager and she’ll be drawing better than you because that’s what’s happened under me. And my daughter’s a very talented artist.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:42):
Oh, cool.

David Schembri (46:43):
But very a bit shy. But yeah, she’s got the makings of being an excellent artist.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:52):
Awesome. That’s good. And she hasn’t been on the show. Why?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:02):
Well,

David Schembri (47:02):
It’s because I invited her to actually, come on, just say hi. But she’s just not, no.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:07):
Oh, okay.

David Schembri (47:09):
Going on 16. So there’s very little I can say that we could persuade her.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:16):
Yeah, I can understand that. You

David Schembri (47:18):
Understand? Yeah. But yeah, very talented. Very talented. I’m always batting for, with their schools a bit annoying because they’re not giving her enough art time or art classes. And I get very annoyed at school for doing that. I just said, look, she’s so talented, she’s passionate. Give her spots in the art class and they’re not doing that. So

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:43):
Hey Don, how do you all,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:46):
Hey Don.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:48):
And if all goes well, we’ll be on next week. So check out what you’re following. Don Octopus fun and debt collecting apparently.

David Schembri (48:13):
Very interesting to see where all this goes after our page.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:19):
Well blank taught us anything. It’s awesome watching how these things switch panel. We’ve got Nick saying ready. Teachers from the teacher himself.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:40):
I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:44):
Hope things go well. I don’t know who that’s aimed at. Hopefully all of us, I’d love things to go. Well thanks. Thanks Alex. And Aaron is, yeah, you tell him Nick,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:09):
So

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:10):
Comments have slowed down. You’re all doing what I’m doing, watching the people draw instead of concentrating on what you’re meant to be doing. Well you guys are actually meant to be watching them. Actually now I think about it. You want Doug,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:23):
You

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:23):
Jealous of bitty,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:27):
Is that what’s wrong?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:32):
No,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:32):
He’s not answering.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:35):
He’s just staring at me like

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:36):
You.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:42):
So about another cat. Yeah, true. Doug can hold his head up high. He also has a comment to himself.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:01):
Show does

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:04):
Similar, actually a similar type of theme, but an artist per page rather than per panel. And Doug by no means fixes things around the house. So I would not say he’s trading whatsoever. He likes to make a mess that’s about it. Runs around like a crazy cat and breaks things maybe. So he’d be anti Trae. He would be the enemy of bitsy.

Ed Kearsley (50:34):
Oh,

David Schembri (50:38):
Messing things up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:41):
Or at least that

Ed Kearsley (50:42):
Doesn’t turn up in the book.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:50):
I’ve seen what Doug is capable of in the And sizzle into the sizzle. And Doug. Sorry. That’s right. I wasn’t it too with Doug, not the other way around.

Ed Kearsley (51:04):
You were the sidekick.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:07):
Yep. Well, in some of those panels I was the sidekick, wasn’t I? And Kes was in the comic as well at the beginning. And can we tell ’em that you were at the end as well? Or was that a spoiler? I’ve already said it, haven’t I? It’s

Ed Kearsley (51:26):
Not now because you’ve already said it

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:30):
Said too much. Okay, everyone, look at this little red light.

David Schembri (51:37):
You’re learning from me giving the spoilers away. There was no one better than spoiler alerts to my dad. My dad the biggest spoiler alert Perth. You never asked him about a movie that you wanted to see. Remember Beaches? Remember Beaches a long time ago.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:04):
Vaguely.

David Schembri (52:06):
He ruined that movie from all my sisters and they were yelling at him, don’t tell us that. I’m not going to tell you anything. I’m not going to tell you anything. And then he just blurts out the last, I’m not say what happens in the edge. I was probably, I forgot how old I was, but I was on the couch with a pillow, like a cushion over my face stopping myself from laughing. I’m laughing my head off into the cushion as my sisters were just in shock and my dad looked at him. Go, what? What’s the matter? I

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:42):
Coming a mile away?

David Schembri (52:45):
Oh God, it was so

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:46):
Funny. I didn’t anything. I forget the timing. Ed, when do we put things together?

Ed Kearsley (52:58):
I was going to wait till 55.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:01):
Okay, cool. Okay. I got to write little stuff down because I forget every freaking episode.

Ed Kearsley (53:11):
That is a true fact.

Sheydin Dew (53:13):
Yes. I think I I’m almost every

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:17):
As well.

Sheydin Dew (53:21):
Just putting in the

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:31):
Yeah, you having fun there?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:37):
Sounds

Ed Kearsley (53:37):
Like it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:38):
Yeah. Do you want to come back? Can you give me a minute?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:51):
Having a ball?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:55):
Yeah, she’s got a new little small toy, so she’s having a bit of fun with that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:01):
Nice. Oh sorry Don, I just got your message. Sorry. Oh dear. He was asking for a link to the show. My apologies. I keep wanting to ask business questions of Ed, of what we do for the show and I’m like, that’s really not show talk. That’s after show talk, but I’m just so impatient. I want to know the answers now.

Ed Kearsley (55:00):
Well, speaking of show talk, it’s about that time for our guest to send what they’ve drawn so far into sis who has disappeared and then we can, I will stick them in onto the page and we’ll get a preview of what this page is going to look like

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:27):
Or

Sheydin Dew (55:29):
Question text or no text. Do you prefer

Ed Kearsley (55:34):
In the panel?

Sheydin Dew (55:36):
Yeah. Are you guys putting in text after yourself or should we?

Ed Kearsley (55:41):
You could do it if you want or I can do it for you if you want to do it. Yes.

Sheydin Dew (55:46):
I’ve already put half of it in so I can make it all nice just for the show purpose, but I’ll make sure that I save copy. So do

Ed Kearsley (56:01):
Okay away you guys.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:04):
Okay, so send by email or send by Messenger, whatever way is best for you. I will look out for both.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:10):
No worries. I’ll get

Ed Kearsley (56:12):
It into my scanner and I will show you everyone at home. The comex net au slash store. Is that the right address?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:30):
Yeah, that’s right. Just go to comex.net au and there’s a button up the top that takes you to the store.

Ed Kearsley (56:36):
Then you can get all these books. These are the Toby ones people we’re talking about before. Sz and Doug. The Vamoose. There’s a new vamoose coming out.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:47):
Oh yeah.

Ed Kearsley (56:49):
Oh, look at that one. Is that supposed to do that?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:53):
Yeah. I don’t think it is

Ed Kearsley (56:55):
When it stops when the mouse goes over it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:00):
Wow. Maybe it’s because we’re on a stream or something. That’s really weird. Oh no, I know what that is. Oh, damnit. Yeah. I’ll fix that after the show.

Ed Kearsley (57:09):
I saw Sean’s book in there. See if I can get it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:16):
It’s a game now. That’s

Ed Kearsley (57:17):
The comic.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:18):
Catch the comic. I love it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:22):
Messenger. You missed it.

Ed Kearsley (57:28):
No, maybe it’s someone of these, oh look, they’re all going crazy. Oh,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:35):
They’re all doing it. What the hell?

Ed Kearsley (57:37):
I broke your website.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:39):
No, you didn’t break it. I think I know who did. No, it wasn’t me. He keeps undoing things that I do because he doesn’t realise I’m doing them for a reason.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:52):
Oh dear.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:55):
That cracks me up. He takes initiative sometimes. That initiative is awesome. There

Ed Kearsley (58:03):
We go. I found,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:05):
Does this,

Ed Kearsley (58:08):
Did he get Sean comments,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:13):
Email or messenger? Yes.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:15):
I’ve emailed it to you, Shane.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:18):
Awesome. Thank you very much.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:19):
Worries.

Ed Kearsley (58:20):
You’ve got SP’s Devil’s toilet number three. What else? More devil’s Toilets that Cirus is a good book for everyone to get.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:34):
Thanks.

Ed Kearsley (58:37):
That’s

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:38):
Why I’m not in charge Ed is,

Ed Kearsley (58:42):
And all this, if you buy comics from here, it all helps to support all the shows. This isn’t, it’s got a bunch of different artists. The different artists on just about every page. What else is good Blazer? It’s deshawn silver superhero comic book. I quickly

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:10):
Say hello to He runs away. Go.

David Schembri (59:20):
I’ve sent you my image. Just over the messenger.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:25):
Oh, messenger. Cool. Oh yeah, I see it.

David Schembri (59:27):
See it? Yeah.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:32):
Nice.

David Schembri (59:34):
It’s just a low scan for now. I’m just going to

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (59:39):
Still need to finish.

Ed Kearsley (59:55):
No Comex presents. What? Kicked it all off I believe. Or Battle for Bustle. You’ll need the first three or four.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:05):
Yeah, we had a stock of one, two, and three, but we still got four. Oh, hang on. It might only be in digital. I’m not sure now. It’s crazy what those things are doing.

Ed Kearsley (01:00:18):
Isn’t it great?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:21):
Visuals, stimuli. It’s great for that least.

Ed Kearsley (01:00:33):
It says here, flat rate shipping of $9 on most orders within Australia. International posts calculated at checkout.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:42):
Not at the moment. That part’s broken, but we’ll keep saying that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:48):
What’s

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:49):
Going on? I just downloaded a picture and it didn’t go into my downloads. Don’t mess with your computer people before a show.

Ed Kearsley (01:01:12):
Tell us loud.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:13):
Sorry,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:14):
Was that off the

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:17):
No, that was, sorry.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:22):
It doesn’t,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:24):
No,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:29):
There it is.

Ed Kearsley (01:01:37):
I’ve got two.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:39):
How you going, Sean?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:42):
Yeah, I just sent you just a

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:44):
Oh, cool. Okay.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:45):
A picture. It’s

Ed Kearsley (01:01:52):
Detective Bud is a good book too.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:55):
Probably the next couple of days or birthday.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:00):
Nick’s birthday. Happy birthday mate. If you

Ed Kearsley (01:02:03):
Happy birthday to Nick. Celebrate his birthday. Bye. Buying his detective Budgie comic books.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:10):
Yeah. Nice. See, Ed’s good at this. That’s why he is in charge. And I’m just the button pusher. He can’t push buttons.

Ed Kearsley (01:02:19):
Ryan Bella is dead. Stuff he was on with Sean on the last season.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:26):
Oh yeah, true.

Ed Kearsley (01:02:29):
And is Peter Wilson, one of their creators of, that’s his book. Crimson Rascal. That’s really good. That book too. The comedy superhero. They got sps, his sluggish clearing, great great series. Some groovy Gies stuff that never happened.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:58):
Sorry, did you email it to me, Sean? Or message it to me?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:02):
Email.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:04):
Email. Okay. Oh, you sent it to that email. Yep. Found it. Sorry, I was looking somewhere else because I’m stupid and have many, many emails.

Ed Kearsley (01:03:19):
We forgive. You feel many emails.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:24):
Thank God someone does.

Ed Kearsley (01:03:28):
I’ve lost my mouse. There it is. All right, I’ve got all three now. Just

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:38):
Double check. It’s my turn to hopefully not have things flash all over the screen everywhere. I’ve got to find out what’s doing that. But before we do that, I’m going to do a little plug. Wasn’t Carrie wasn’t actually sticky taping up the cat. She was untapping something, so I was wrong. I still think she should have been sticky taping up Doug, but that’s just me. She was unwrapping

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:06):
This.

Ed Kearsley (01:04:09):
Wow. What is it? Oh, nice.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:10):
Beautiful bustle. Volume two issue one.

Ed Kearsley (01:04:15):
Give me, give me, give me. That looks great.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:23):
Good one, Lee.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:25):
Nice one Lee. So that arrived today. So I have now four days to prepare the shop to sell it. And I just realised I’m full screen still. Oh look, the viewership just went down 10

Ed Kearsley (01:04:43):
10

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:45):
By me having full screen.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:54):
Oh

Ed Kearsley (01:04:55):
Dear.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:56):
Eager to see this page. Andrew Law. Yep. Agreed. Now what we’ll do is minimise that window so I can actually see the screen add two screen now just to muck around. I put Ed up first. Look Ed. Ed. Okay, now we’ll go to David’s. David’s is interesting. It’s not what I expected. I was expecting a lot more art because it’s a studio.

David Schembri (01:05:32):
That’s my design studio. So I do lots of stuff.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:36):
Oh, do you have a night one that I should have had up?

David Schembri (01:05:38):
No, no, no. Yeah, I just keep one. Just keep one.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:42):
It’s not one of these crazy people with five different Instagrams.

David Schembri (01:05:45):
No, no. If I did that, I don’t think I’ll have the capacity to control it. But more of the comic stuff, the more you scroll down, you’ll get some more comic stuff. That’s me. Get away from that.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:55):
Oh, nice. Yeah, there’s

David Schembri (01:05:57):
There, there. That was the first baby that I did, so still doing. All right.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:04):
Very nice.

David Schembri (01:06:05):
And just then as I was developing it, you’ll see some mum sketchy stuff as you keep going down just as the there they’re,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:15):
I like the dog.

David Schembri (01:06:17):
Yeah, it’s a watercolour painting. I draw pets, their pets drawn. I’ll paint their pets for them. But yeah, that’s one little classic car. There we go. It’s probably,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:33):
Yeah, we’ll do that. And oh, shade’s next in line. No man’s land. Shane’s set up. This is, look at this set up. Oh, it’s a video. Okay, I’ll stop that up in the corner, Shane. There’s a little symbol. Okay. I’m loving this picture, by the way. That’s awesome.

Sheydin Dew (01:06:59):
Oh, thank you. It was lucky enough to land on the cover of this magazine here in Adelaide, which I was very excited about. Yeah, so that was pretty cool.

David Schembri (01:07:11):
It’s a great angle.

Sheydin Dew (01:07:13):
Yeah, it’s actually a bit of backstory. Behind that picture is I took a photo at one of my favourite places in South Korea that I visited last year called Han Culture Village. And it’s this really colourful village. And then as part of a uni assignment, we had to do a Photoshop edited picture. And I was like, oh, I’ll just whip out my Wacom tablet and draw over the photo and I’ll submit that. And I went on to submit it to the magazine and it was lucky enough to launch on the cover, so that was really cool. Yeah,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:48):
That’s awesome.

David Schembri (01:07:49):
Well deserved. Fantastic. Thank you.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:51):
Agreed as always with you colours. Awesome. Just love it.

Sheydin Dew (01:07:57):
Yeah, I mean, wearing my colours today, quite neutral today. But yes, colours is my thing.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:08):
Little bit of joining in there, but they’re videos. They won’t start up videos again.

Sheydin Dew (01:08:14):
But yeah, I would like to think that a lot of my work is influenced a lot by Asian cultures and artwork. I really, yeah, some old sketches in my sketchbook. Yeah, like I said, I like Leos, I love Leos, so I draw them a lot.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:33):
On that note, we should go over to Sean.

Sheydin Dew (01:08:35):
Let’s have a look.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:42):
Oh, look at that. That’s a bit of chopping up the viciousness. Excellent. I love the black and white with just red blood.

Sheydin Dew (01:08:50):
Yeah, that’s striking.

Shaun Craike (01:08:55):
Done any, it’s blank. A

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:03):
Different scene we go. Wow.

Ed Kearsley (01:09:14):
Sorry to interrupt. The thing took over

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:17):
And I

Ed Kearsley (01:09:18):
Shared my screen.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:19):
Oh yeah, yeah. It automatically, if you’re not already sharing. Yep. Just go through a bit more of the awesome art that is Sean Craig’s art. And then we’ll go over to,

Shaun Craike (01:09:32):
Well, I have to admit, I’ve been neglecting my social media a bit because I’ve just been busy just concentrating more on actually doing work or my artwork and that. So just scrolling through social media and that kind of stuff.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:55):
Got to do that from time to time. Yeah, it’s probably been, I suppose, put anything up

Shaun Craike (01:10:02):
Come if I was dead or not so long, but no, I just can’t be bothered for the time. We

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:14):
Did an awesome move ring for last week.

Shaun Craike (01:10:16):
Yeah, thanks.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:21):
And now we’re add screen. Hey,

Ed Kearsley (01:10:25):
So let’s have a look. We got Shane’s awesome panel. Got a lot of detail in for

Sheydin Dew (01:10:34):
Such

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:35):
A shorter of time.

Sheydin Dew (01:10:36):
Thank you. I love

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:37):
The more. That’s awesome.

Sheydin Dew (01:10:42):
To be honest, I wasn’t really pleased with the cat space. If anything, I don’t know if everybody gets this reference, but it was giving mediaeval drawing of a cat. I don’t know if anybody’s seen illustrations of when cats were illustrated mediaeval, very much like that. I tried to do this weird hybrid between Alex Major’s original design and making it realistic, but it came out a little bit not expected.

Ed Kearsley (01:11:16):
Your toast. And I’m a whale,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:22):
I love those little tears.

David Schembri (01:11:27):
There will be a speech bubble at the, probably the bottom right somewhere. And Bitsy will be saying something along the lines of, we could talk about this, or something like that. Or

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:45):
I didn’t mean to works well with that

Ed Kearsley (01:11:50):
There we’ve got Sean, where is my $20?

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:59):
It’s awesome.

Shaun Craike (01:12:00):
Kind of roughly inspired by a certain housemate years ago. But that situation, just that kind of guy that was just borrowing this amounts of money, that amount of money whining about free and money and it’s just like, mate, do you know how much has been a mission just to try and get the money that you owe?

Ed Kearsley (01:12:33):
There you go. That’s a sneak preview of the page. We’ll see the finished version next week.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:43):
We’ve got some comments. That’s an awesome page by Andrew Law. Shay is back when they gave pets human faces. Oh, is that what it’s, oh

Ed Kearsley (01:12:57):
Yeah, that ring

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:59):
Amazing.

Sheydin Dew (01:13:03):
Just with the allowed. Yeah, it kind came out as can, but I’ll roll with it.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:12):
It’s awesome. Oh, we got a, hello? Sorry, I went backwards. Hello. Hello.

Ed Kearsley (01:13:17):
Hello.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:22):
So

Ed Kearsley (01:13:23):
That all the comments,

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:25):
That’s all the comment. We’ve got an awesome now from fourth monkey. Fourth monkey being Stu, whose book coming out later this month. Outlaw. Look for it. Chapters one and two.

Sheydin Dew (01:13:37):
Thank you.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:39):
Do your favour. Pick up two copies.

Ed Kearsley (01:13:44):
Okay. So we shall wrap up the episode here. Let’s say thank you to Shaden and David and Sean for coming on and lending their artistic expertise to the project. Doing some crazy good art and we’ll thank sis for pressing the buttons. Thank the chat.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:12):
I dunno if you guys heard that

Ed Kearsley (01:14:15):
Had something

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:17):
Just Kerry saying, not very well pressing the buttons.

Ed Kearsley (01:14:22):
We wouldn’t expect anything less from classics.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:27):
You got a good laugh out of Kerry for that one. That one.

Ed Kearsley (01:14:34):
Oh yeah. There’s the thing to submit. Banner of bitsy.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:44):
Oh yeah, I’ll bring that up.

Ed Kearsley (01:14:46):
Bring that up.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:49):
That does all the shows. So if you’re sending in art, that’s where you go for this show, for my show, if you want to show me up, send in some art of Iron Patriot this week. If you want to be on drink and draw, wax some out of Ironman this week. And then if you want to be shown on this show, we want bitsy art

Ed Kearsley (01:15:15):
Show

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:15:16):
People. There’s no such thing as too much. Send it all in. We want hundreds each episode. We won’t talk to the artists, we won’t look at their pages. We’ll just look at your pages. The whole show will just be fan art.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:38):
That sounds good. All right. Run the video says that we’ll get out of here.

Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:15:48):
Awesome show guys from Shawnee.

Ed Kearsley (01:15:51):
Good night everybody.
