Hello and welcome to another episode of Letās Make a Comic Book. Iām your host, ed Kiley and joining us tonight we have Nick Quick Cleary and Don Tio and weāve got season on the Buttons and Iām also going to be drawing a panel tonight, so I will be the third artist in the mix.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:11):
Nice. So
Ed Kearsley (01:14):
Weāre doing, this is season two and this is our character that was created by Alex Major and Peter Wilson and Nick May, whoās called Bitsy the tradie cat.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:26):
Good liar.
Ed Kearsley (01:29):
Thank you. And letās have a look at our last weekās page. Weāve got Sha j, David Shiri and Sean Craig and weāve got the octopus space. Octopus is attacking and says to bitsy your toast, and Iām a whale and weāve got bitsy saying, but we can talk about this. And then the octopus yells, where is my $20? And thatās where we will be picking up from.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (02:08):
Is it?
Ed Kearsley (02:10):
Letās find out. So weāre going to do the hand of choosing and weāre going to start with Nick. You get to choose,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (02:24):
Letās go big three, right in the middle,
Ed Kearsley (02:27):
Big three, right in the middle.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (02:29):
Take me there. Oh sir. Sitting back pretty
Ed Kearsley (02:37):
And done. You get to pick one.
Don Ticchio (02:42):
Oh, I guess Iāll pick number one then.
Ed Kearsley (02:44):
Number one is number two.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (02:49):
Oh, Edās starting this one. I get to start early. Tell you what, can you put
Don Ticchio (02:58):
That the character drawing of the character showed before? Because I havenāt got a full one, so yeah, lemme just take a screenshot of that and
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (03:11):
I should be able to send you a picture. Sorry Don, I got slack.
Don Ticchio (03:14):
Itās all right. I got it. All good.
Ed Kearsley (03:18):
Okay, so now letās find out what layout weāre going to use. Letās spin it to win it and it is this one.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (03:44):
Oh, nice.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (03:45):
Capital T.
Ed Kearsley (03:48):
Capital T.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (03:51):
The big T.
Don Ticchio (03:52):
Okay, so
Ed Kearsley (03:54):
Iām going to move that one. Thatās worked everything. Now Iām going to find that. Send it to Nick. Just hold on everyone at home. So that is in the private chat now, Nick.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (04:20):
Excellent. Iām in a big rush now.
Don Ticchio (04:25):
Okay, Iām back in.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (04:30):
Cool.
Ed Kearsley (04:30):
Want to take some comments while I start?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (04:34):
Yeah, Iāll some comments. Weāve got Carrie said hello with lots of little emojis. Hi.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (04:39):
Thank you Gary.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (04:43):
Heās done his day mate.
Don Ticchio (04:45):
Sorry guys. Can you give me a refresher on this? What happens? Ed draws a panel and then I wait to see what heās done and I go off that.
Ed Kearsley (04:54):
Yeah.
Don Ticchio (04:55):
Okay. Alright. Yeah,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (05:04):
And then weāve got, whereās my favourite Australian. Iām not sure who redās referring to, but I agree Red. Very strange character or Bity.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (05:15):
Iām right here. Red mate. Goodday.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (05:21):
An evening chaps from Robbie and Fred. Anyone whoās detecting that? Iām talking a bit funny. I had a wisdom tooth out today, so Iām just putting that out there.
Ed Kearsley (05:30):
You still showed up,
Don Ticchio (05:32):
We donāt believe you.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (05:39):
Straight up for the choke. Yes. So Edās just, Iām not sure what Edās doing actually
Ed Kearsley (05:51):
Iām just drawing. I donāt want to share my screen right yet.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (05:54):
Oh, yep.
Ed Kearsley (05:56):
Itāll pop up
Ed Kearsley (05:58):
Up.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (05:59):
Nice. So Nick, you last so Iāll pick on you first.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (06:06):
Good.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (06:08):
Well hang on, weāve got a nice, I didnāt get a warning from Stoppy tunes or Alex. I didnāt. The didnāt ring ya get you. Hey gang. Yep. Thanks. Well weāve got a puppy dog in the house.
Ed Kearsley (06:23):
Nice. Hey puppy.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (06:29):
Donās off.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (06:30):
Doug heard that and he looks like heās jealous. He might be jumping up soon. Yeah. Also the painkillers are making my brain not work so fast.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (06:48):
Sed, where are you going to take this comic? You got any ideas?
Ed Kearsley (06:51):
I do right now.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (06:59):
Weāve still got to fix blank blank. Finished?
Ed Kearsley (07:04):
Yeah. Oh weāre doing, oh sorry. Go.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (07:10):
Just going to ask, are you going to move this narrative somewhere else? Youāre going to keep it where itās sort of headed. Whatās your plan, Mike?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (07:18):
Personally I get you now.
Ed Kearsley (07:23):
I have brought a little bit of the spanner in the work, so
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (07:32):
Spanner in the works. I want to give all these suggestions and I canāt because thatās against the rules.
Ed Kearsley (07:38):
It sure is.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (07:39):
I thought sizzle could suggest heās sort of
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (07:42):
No, I canāt a
Nick āQuickā Cleary (07:42):
Mediator.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (07:44):
Iād push the story a certain way for sure.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (07:48):
Name the cat something else.
Ed Kearsley (07:52):
Sis gets to direct the story when itās his turn to draw a panel.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (07:57):
Thatās it. Yeah,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (07:58):
My turn now weāve got a cute little,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (08:01):
Thatās the one. Well heās trying to get comfy. An uncomfortable place on my lap.
Ed Kearsley (08:15):
So weāre doing a new thing for this series. Weāre asking for one word prompts for next episode and then thatās going to be randomly selected and then itās going to be one of the artists on the next episode is going to have to put that somehow into their panel.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (08:37):
Wow. So you havenāt started that yet?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (08:39):
No. So people in the audience get to pick a prompt, give us some prompts. One word prompts. One word prompts puppy. There you go. Thereās the first one.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (08:57):
First
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (08:57):
One. Hey. And youāre not in the audience. Cheah.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:01):
Iām sitting pretty 40 minutes. Iāll be in the audience.
Ed Kearsley (09:05):
Okay, Anna, you can put my
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:10):
Screen
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (09:11):
Easily. Alex, easily. We can now do AI any day of the week.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:21):
Ai. ai. So
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (09:27):
Oh wow.
Ed Kearsley (09:30):
Weāre got bit a jukes up. So you got your 20 bucks right here.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:40):
Bucks. Yeah, bucks is a big word if youāre putting bucks in
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:48):
Bucks
Nick āQuickā Cleary (09:48):
And now Donās going to draw 20 punches in one panel.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (09:58):
Be done.
Don Ticchio (09:59):
It can be done.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (10:01):
All the next 20 panels are done. Thatās it. How many episodes we got for 20 panels? Itās just the same nailing into a octopus.
Ed Kearsley (10:16):
It can be done.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (10:19):
I love it. Violence is the solution.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (10:24):
Here we go. Heās off. Still enough. Straight hand. I usually leave the hands last. Iām like, I donāt want to draw hands.
Ed Kearsley (10:33):
Itās in the foreground.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (10:35):
Yeah, sure. Is that your general operation Ed foreground first?
Ed Kearsley (10:42):
Yeah.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (10:43):
Yeah, right. I think I just started the eyes and work out as my default. I donāt know.
Ed Kearsley (10:53):
Where did your heading first when I Oh, there you go.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (10:59):
Mineās quite random if youāve watched the amateur hour. I was just like, my pen feels good here. Thatās where Iāll start.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (11:09):
Yeah, good old ear. Whatās
Nick āQuickā Cleary (11:14):
Going on? Drawing.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (11:17):
You got ideas Don?
Don Ticchio (11:22):
Well Iām toying with the idea of him taking him on eight against two is not really a fair fight. Is it
Don Ticchio (11:35):
Working?
Ed Kearsley (11:39):
Thatās a good snappy comeback from the octopus one stuff.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (11:42):
Iāve got 160 bucks here. Little math joke.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (11:52):
Thatās what it was. Knees Nick Ma convinced me started the knees.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (11:56):
The knees. Yep. Start at the converse shoes. Work your way up.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (12:09):
Yeah, he gave this character thongs.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (12:12):
He did some metallic thongs. Itās a bold choice. Itās not terribly efficient. Look at this little ewok. I got rock in here.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (12:24):
Heās what?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (12:27):
Little Vegemite? Yeah. What we mean red is like a prompt word to sort of guide what they do in that panel to a certain extent. So theyāve got a fit in that word somehow into the panel that they do next week.
Ed Kearsley (12:55):
Yeah, so it could be a thing they draw or something one of the characters says.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (13:11):
Yeah, so I hope that makes sense. We got an okay. Oh weāve got a prompt word for next week. Oops. Thanks nickname. Thatās a good one.
Ed Kearsley (13:31):
Oops. There itās,
Ed Kearsley (13:42):
And then the prompt will be randomly chosen and the person that has to use the prompt will be randomly chosen next week as well. Thatās right. Add a little bit of spice to the
Nick āQuickā Cleary (13:56):
Yeah, thatās a real thumb.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (14:05):
Really add to the randomness of this comic.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:10):
Yeah. Is it something you might put in the book somewhere? Like prompt number three was on panel two of blah blah blah.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (14:25):
Itās not ready
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:26):
In the final
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:27):
Look.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:28):
Just to keep a record of the random.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (14:40):
Iām good Ed.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:43):
Oh yeah.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (14:45):
Of the fisticuffs and the little, I love that. The little things that control like two levers can control entire body. I love that
Nick āQuickā Cleary (14:55):
Itās all mental and then the stick are suggest for
Don Ticchio (14:59):
Okay to get you started. Oh
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (15:04):
Wow.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (15:05):
Dawn, really
Don Ticchio (15:06):
Rough. Just the idea. Letās see if I can see it. So heās got all his fists up in the air but then he goes again, whereās my 40 bucks? Every time he argues going to go up.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (15:30):
I couldnāt quite see that.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (15:32):
Can you
Ed Kearsley (15:33):
Take a snap of it and send it to sis?
Don Ticchio (15:37):
Yep, yep. Hold on.
Ed Kearsley (15:39):
Be able to bring it up on screen.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (15:42):
I replicate too much so heās front and back up and doubling the price.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (15:59):
I know red that kind of describes the story really blind. Weāre stuck on an island with a broken leg. Thatās nice. Nice way to describe how random the story is.
Ed Kearsley (16:12):
Yeah, the whole thingās random.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (16:16):
Itās a very random story. Each artist brings something new to the table each week to each panel. So three artists each week bring something new to the story. So yeah, itās the beauty of a jam. Comic
Nick āQuickā Cleary (16:33):
Jam.
Don Ticchio (16:41):
Sorry, my phoneās on the charger upstairs. Iāll just scan it in and Iāll send it to you.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (16:47):
Okay.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (16:49):
Okay. Yes, red Brandonās probably a good way to say it because there is no overarching story that they have to follow. They just have to continue from what happened in the last panel for all last few panels. So yeah. Yes, weāre doing this comic for fun. Yes, thatās probably a good way to say it. This is just for fun. Sorry. Are you emailing that to me Don? Or sending it to me on messenger? Iāll send it to you Messenger. Perfect, perfect.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (18:05):
I
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (18:15):
Dunno, it sounds like a suggestion. Richo, sorry. I think is how it should be said calamari out of the space. Squid. Nice. I donāt think the audience is meant to make suggestions. Whatās going on? Chaos. Thatās what Iāve got to learn to edit things like that.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (19:07):
Get that fist up there.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (19:10):
Iāve done it once and I couldnāt repeat it. I did it to one picture and I went whoa, I know how to do it now and then I canāt do it anymore. Sorry guys.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (19:20):
Iāll have to send it from the other place.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (19:23):
All good buddy. Get there eventually. Nick is Nick quick after all, he doesnāt need much time. Nick
Nick āQuickā Cleary (19:42):
The boy
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (19:46):
If what I saw was right, it was a picture of the octopus with fists on each of the eight legs.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (19:53):
Oh really? And heās just matching that pose.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (19:59):
I think thatās what I saw. I probably better check just in case. Hey, you sent me the name of the file but not the file. Sorry to
Nick āQuickā Cleary (20:29):
I got one.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (20:34):
I like it
Nick āQuickā Cleary (20:55):
Pal.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (20:57):
You got your 20 right here pal? Yeah, it come through now.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (21:07):
Oh yeah, hang on. It says Iāve got attachment instead of just a word. Oh yeah, itās the stuff. Thatās what weāre looking for.
Don Ticchio (21:15):
It has come through. Yeah,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (21:17):
It has come through.
Don Ticchio (21:18):
Okay.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (21:21):
I havenāt checked what it is. Iāve just sent it to Nick so hopefully itās not,
Don Ticchio (21:24):
Hopefully you can see because the pen might be a bit light.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (21:32):
I am curious now Iām going to download it and check you Haven tax documents or something. Oh,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (21:37):
I see it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (21:41):
Oh, all the things are coming up. Every octopus limb is now in play.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (21:53):
No,
Don Ticchio (21:55):
It doesnāt come through.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (21:57):
Yeah, itās come through. Oh,
Don Ticchio (21:58):
Okay.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (22:06):
Oh thank you. Yep. Boost you up. See? There you go Don.
Don Ticchio (22:12):
Yep. Okay.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (22:18):
All thatās about. Alright, letās get to work
Nick āQuickā Cleary (22:26):
And
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (22:27):
Then we, sorry Iāve missed a few comments here. Whose panel is that on the screen with the fist? Looks great. Thatās
Nick āQuickā Cleary (22:39):
Thatās mine.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (22:40):
Thatās Richo.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (22:43):
Thatād be Trav dog H reckon sizzle
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (22:46):
And Trav dog. Yeah. Red is saying turn the squid into a Turo stick. Thatās different.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (22:57):
Whatās a Teo stick
Don Ticchio (23:00):
One? Oh is
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (23:01):
It? Did I say it wrong? Oh, good evening. Nice panel Peter Lane. Thank you. And Shawneeās come in with a no, I got distracted playing with Lego. Whatād I miss?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (23:26):
Tell Shawnee about the
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (23:27):
Prompts. Yeah, Shawnee, weāve got prompts now you give a prompt this week and weāll randomly choose from peopleās prompts next week to give to random panels to include that prompt word somehow in the art or it can be something thatās drawn, it could be inspire what happens in the panel? It could be a physical, well an actual thing they say. Yeah, so it can be used however the artist wants to use it I guess. But yeah, you get to pick a prompt word. So I think what Nick may did was a good idea. Write the word prompt and then after it one word. Thatāll make it easy to find those words later.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (24:20):
Okay,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (24:25):
Iāll show you what he did in case Iām not making sense. He gave us the prompt word. Oops. Thanks. Red. Not quite getting it but good. Thank you for giving us a prompt sentence. I like my egg. Well done. Always. It needs to be just a word red, just a word so that it can be, it could be egg, we could just pick egg for that one. That way it can be interpreted many, many ways and it gives the artists a bit more freedom. Okay, egg. Awesome. Prompt word, egg and oops so far. Thanks. Red.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (25:36):
I cut your 20 right here, pal
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (25:39):
Or pickles. Oh no, not pickles again, but we will put it in there though. Pickles. It is no red egg and pickles. Two prompt suggestions from red. Thank you very much.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (26:07):
Thanks Rand.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (26:17):
Now Iām interested how that would work after whatās happening on this page now Iām kind of interested to see how the artists will interpret those words and make a page that fits. Thatās the idea. You canāt run away from pickles. I guess you saw that episode of Chinwag. Iāve had some great what? This? Iāve had some great story moments in the past from random prompts at artist meetups. Oh cool. Maybe pickles is like a cuss word, like pickles or eggs in the family friendly way. Okay. I am trying to sped, but the old jaw doesnāt want to accommodate that at the moment. And thank you Jackie. Sausage sle at your surface. Oh, what do you got here? Thatās whatās so cool. It could be the shape of the ship or McGuffin of the whole story. Cool. Oh yeah, thatās right. A lot of people have come in late. Thatās why Iām not talking much. I had a wisdom tooth removed today, so Iām a bit doped up and sore as Carrie just said. Youāre lucky that Iām upright. I like that. I like that though. I McGuffin or just the shape of the ship. Thanks Alex. Iāll be fine. I think it only takes a few days to heal if I remember correctly. I hope thatās all it takes. Iām really not in the mood to be able to commission for that long.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:04):
Cool.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (29:08):
Keep drawing the same line. I was going to say that only just came up for me, Kerry. Yeah, I was wondering what you were talking about. As Spie says I take it back. Talk quick.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:31):
Quick.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:33):
I think Iāve got an idea.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (29:35):
You got an idea. Awesome.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:37):
Started yet.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (29:40):
Thanks.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:42):
Just freaking out about the whole process really.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:50):
Just remember,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (29:50):
Donāt have to finish it tonight.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (29:53):
Yeah, thatās right. I think vibe. You know whatās fun about this, about bitsy is you can kind of get a couple gestures in. You can get the robot body to do a thing. Then you get double up that emotion inside with a cat. I think I can do that it. Iām playing it
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (30:23):
Down the bottom here. Red. Iām sizzle going. Alex, quick say something interesting. How about a riddle? No pressure.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (30:44):
I donāt know any riddles to me these riddle. Not a riddle guy. Sorry,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (31:04):
Nick May has said heād love to see some legs in your panel. There been a lot of Nick May legs in the comic so far.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (31:14):
I was just drawing a mid shot so I may have to, but you know what? Full body might work better. Maybe
Nick āQuickā Cleary (31:31):
I,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (31:40):
Nick May says heās out.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (31:44):
See mate,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (31:47):
Have a good night. See you.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (31:49):
Bye Nick.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (31:52):
Oh, weāre getting riddles now. Why is a Raven like a writing desk?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (31:57):
Oh geez,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:02):
Donāt know.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:07):
Probablyās going to have to give us the answer to that one.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:11):
Why is A what? Why is a Raven
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:14):
Like a writing desk?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:18):
Raven, feathers. Black, Raven dark. I got no idea. Desk writing desk. Is it writing desk? Is that right?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:31):
Yeah. Oh, here we go. Weāve got the answer. It can produce a few notes even though they are very flat. There you go.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:41):
Oh, a Ravenās not very musical.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:45):
I didnāt know that actually.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:47):
There we go. What is on the back of Bitās neck?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:54):
I wish we all knew that.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (32:56):
A bit of
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (32:56):
A debate. Itās the big controversy. Yeah. Some say itās an exhaust pipe. Some say itās a scarf. The guy who drew it says itās a scarf and scars
Nick āQuickā Cleary (33:12):
Got, I wouldāve called the next piece. I see how itās a scarf now. I thought it was a, you know how Mozart would wear or Beethoven would have the
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (33:22):
Oh, big frill
Nick āQuickā Cleary (33:24):
Thing, whatever that is. Thatās why Iām reading it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (33:29):
How a lot of people did.
Don Ticchio (33:42):
I just donāt have my mojo tonight.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (33:49):
Itās okay man. You donāt have to finish it tonight.
Don Ticchio (33:52):
Oh no, this is rough. I want to have a go once Iāve got it, Iāll get it on the iPad and draw it up with the iPad if thatās okay. Of course. My pen work tends to be a little bit scratchy.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (34:15):
It may not be musical, but Ravens can sing really? And they can talk.
Don Ticchio (34:26):
Nick, I added another word balloon to my one. That one stuff you up. Will it
Nick āQuickā Cleary (34:31):
Go on? What is it? I got to know.
Don Ticchio (34:35):
Well in the first panels go, I got your 20 right here and he says, well holding up his two fists. And I go, well I have eight, so whereās my 40 bucks? Thatās just gone up a bit more. If that stuffās up, Iāll get rid of it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (35:01):
No, thatās cool. Thanks for letting me know.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (35:11):
Nice one Nick. No excuses. Don.
Don Ticchio (35:16):
Iāve had a rough day.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (35:19):
You have? Well I love that Edās first one gets us into a fight. Nice.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (35:44):
Yeah,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (35:48):
Let the violence continue from blank.
Ed Kearsley (35:51):
Yeah, it was bound to happen sooner or a later,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (35:54):
So why not just embrace it?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (35:58):
Nice.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (36:02):
Well I wonāt pester quick because heās trying to come up with some ideas. Donās had a bad day so I guess that only leaves you Ed.
Ed Kearsley (36:12):
Whatās up? Iāve
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (36:12):
Got to pe You and the comments have slowed. Sorry, Iām starting to get a headache now too. Yeah, Iām drinking water. Itās okay.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (36:28):
Drink the water.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (36:32):
I just canāt drink a lot at once. Thatās all. It hurts. Thatās why we might not get you back on Alex because itāll turn into a soft core adult romance if you get your hands on a panel. Yeah, we might not even make back.
Ed Kearsley (36:57):
Thatās soft course though, right?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (36:59):
Oh guess
Nick āQuickā Cleary (37:01):
I guess
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (37:04):
Edās the boss. Youāre back. Youāre back in. Yeah. No, I havenāt tried drinking a beer. That was one of the things he warned me not to do for the next two weeks was to drink alcohol or smoke, which funnily enough I donāt but still told me not to so I guess I can stick to that one.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (37:34):
Why canāt you smoke? Why would smoking be bad
Nick āQuickā Cleary (37:36):
For?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (37:37):
I think it slows the healing process down in your mouth.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (37:40):
Ah, Iāll buy it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (37:48):
And
Don Ticchio (37:48):
Everybodyās doing stuff for these things all on some sort of digital platform. Is that what could you guys find a lot easier to work that way?
Ed Kearsley (38:02):
Itās mostly so we can show people what weāre drawing.
Don Ticchio (38:05):
Yeah,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (38:09):
Iāll stick my hand up. Itās easier. The back buttonās a lot easier than an eraser.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (38:16):
True that.
Ed Kearsley (38:17):
Yeah. I do prefer to ink on the computer now
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (38:27):
Thanks to amateur hours. Iām getting a little used to doing it on digital, doing on the iPad.
Don Ticchio (38:36):
Yeah, I am getting there slowly. I just donāt use it enough or practise enough on it. And some of when youāre working in layers, even though the layers are locked, every time I touch the panel it just jumps to another layer and I find it frustrating but thatās purely because Iām pretty certain Iām not using it properly.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (39:13):
Oh, here we go. Hereās the medical reason, Nick. It stinks. Thatās why
Don Ticchio (39:22):
It stink.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (39:34):
It is not sadly dude, I donāt drink. Itās all good. I can if I, oh no actually I canāt if I wanted to. Not in massive amounts anyway. Gets me in too much trouble.
Don Ticchio (39:51):
All in moderation says
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (39:53):
Exactly, exactly. Does biscuity have whiskers? I donāt know. Thatās what those little lines are on the side. Itās your panel dude. Youāre in control. Whiskers, why
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (40:19):
Inhalation exhalation.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (40:26):
Oh Terry just googled why smoking is no good.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (40:32):
Oh yeah, weāre learning tonight folks
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (40:36):
In moderation, my friend in moderation. Youāre smart ass.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (40:42):
And
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (40:49):
Alex says slaves shaves her whiskers. There you go. There you go. Funnier looking or just funnier. Alex, youād think that wouldnāt you? Shani, there should be a setting that stops you from jumping from two different layers. I up to interpretation. Heās thrown in there afterwards. Well, since your scarf became an exhaust pipe on the first page, I guess thatās true. I mean what is the robot running on that it needs the exhaust pipe.
Ed Kearsley (42:08):
Thatās a good question. I am going to change my answer to scoff.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (42:32):
Iām just going to put this up here. Looking good, ed. Thank you. And are you ready to share yours Nick? Or not quite?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (43:11):
Give me a little, give me a sec. Iām almost there. I think Iāll have a little, give me a few moments so Iāll make it a bit more punchy for itās revealed.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (43:18):
Okay.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (43:21):
Just the idea. Iām trying to draw my version of Alexās cat.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (43:37):
I am looking forward to that.
Ed Kearsley (43:42):
Howās Don going?
Don Ticchio (43:45):
Crap,
Ed Kearsley (43:48):
Thatās not good
Don Ticchio (43:49):
To be honest, but I will send a cleaner version
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (44:00):
Better than that.
Don Ticchio (44:01):
Sorry.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (44:04):
I was just saying, Iām sure Dawnās going better than that. Your crap is my masterpiece. Howās that?
Don Ticchio (44:14):
No, could have done better. I think my bad day just reflects in my hands.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (44:22):
Oh no honour is humble pencil wizard. Iām sure itās amazing. It says
Don Ticchio (44:50):
No, I scribble with a pen over it, but like I said, from here Iāll transfer it to the tablet and try and do clean lines because at the moment it gets the idea across in here. I found,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (45:34):
Oh, Donās got the best Instagram to share.
Don Ticchio (45:38):
I have,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (45:40):
According to this, you have no posts yet.
Don Ticchio (45:47):
It shows you how much I get onto it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (45:51):
Iām looking forward to sharing that one bit. Oh there you go. Don Shawneeās jumping in there with the same thing. On my best days, I canāt do as well as Donās crap.
Don Ticchio (46:09):
There you go. No, it was a bad day with work. Iāve never had one of these in almost eight years. Oh wow. But Iām still very tired so Iām really, no, I shouldnāt say that. The client was pretty good about it. So itās all sorted out
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (46:41):
As long as itās sorted, I guess. Ready to be thrown the deep end. Nick,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (47:04):
Give me 30 seconds.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (47:08):
Can do. So any more prompt words from the audience, those who came in late and didnāt hear us talk about the prompt words and weāre looking for one word that will be used next week to prompt the panel of a random artist for next week. Or is it all three panels, ed?
Ed Kearsley (47:57):
No, itās just one.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (47:58):
Just one. So one panel gets randomly, one artist, sorry. Gets randomly picked to use the prompt word in one way or another and weāll pick the prompt words from this week randomly and one word will be picked and then one artist will be picked.
Ed Kearsley (48:18):
Exactly.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (48:29):
Thereās three reflection circles happening. There we go. Another prompt word snag.
Ed Kearsley (48:42):
Thatās a good one. Letās see if this fill bucket works. No.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (48:55):
Alright, you can show where Nickās quick set
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (49:02):
Ready to show
Nick āQuickā Cleary (49:03):
I think so. Iāve set up Donās quote as a reference for me.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (49:11):
Okay, well here we go then.
Ed Kearsley (49:24):
Thatās excellent.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (49:25):
Thatās awesome.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (49:28):
See if they get to the all fight next week. Ed,
Don Ticchio (49:33):
Iāll send you a pick of what Iāve got so far.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (49:39):
Oh cool.
Don Ticchio (49:43):
Just didnāt know. Wanted the full pager, just the panel.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (49:48):
Oh yeah, either or. I agree. I getting into that part of the show, arenāt we?
Ed Kearsley (50:01):
No.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (50:04):
What looks more anxious? Iāve tried to get a lot of Bugs. Bunny tilts out him like heās about to step out of the frame
Ed Kearsley (50:15):
That way. That one,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (50:17):
There it was. Thatās how Iāve dropped it. I wonder if I tilt the head a bit more. Itāll be funnier or something. You know that kind of talk your way out of shit energy. That kind of, well
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (50:37):
Another prompt work from Nick May is legs.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (50:43):
No legs there a largely legless frame.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (50:53):
Thatās what Iām looking for. Well Iāll just pop up so everyone can have a look. See that It is not the crap that he swears it is. Look at that
Don Ticchio (51:16):
Really, really raw.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (51:22):
Itās awesome man.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (51:24):
I
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (51:27):
You artists. Youāre all too hard on yourselves.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (51:32):
Letās talk.
Don Ticchio (51:33):
Weāve got to be mate with AI coming to take our jobs.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (51:38):
Itās coming to take mine as well, man. Itās horrible. I saw a AI display thing where they showed to build an entire website just from a few prompts.
Don Ticchio (51:47):
Yep. Iāve seen it too. I watch a few things just to keep in the loop. I hate it but a lot of other people like it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (52:02):
Yeah, go figure. Does ZZ Top know a lot about legs? There you go. I sure do. I vaguely remember that song Don. That looks great. There you go. You got a dang don.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (52:21):
I reckon thatās better. That head straight on for some reason that works for me. If you see where Iām coming from,
Don Ticchio (52:30):
Yeah, that angle looks,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (52:32):
That was cool man.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (52:33):
Put it back and then Iād go. Yeah, because bits, heās
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (52:37):
Different angle than Theo.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (52:39):
Yeah, heās trying to compensate with some clarity. Now itās the scarf going to add a little bit of tipping points. You can see what my focus is tonight. Itās that awkward balance stuff. Tried to draw his tail doing like a bit of a whatever it needs.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (53:15):
Thatās the other controversy is does he have a tail?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (53:18):
Yeah, I can see a tail in the first pick. Itās of curving around I
Ed Kearsley (53:26):
Thatās his hand on the
Don Ticchio (53:28):
Jewish. Yeah, he does have a tail,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (53:30):
Right? Itās his hand. Itās just a bit lower. Thatās why I thought. Yeah,
Don Ticchio (53:36):
Itās right there.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (53:37):
Alex, you what have you guys done? You just, well anyway, Iām drawing the tail where itās like, you know when you step on a rake and it goes,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (53:50):
I like it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (53:53):
I think the sharp ears work better even if itās hitting the glass more of that and the teeth are chattering, but there might be a better way to do that. You could give it the old, the bony gumble kind of. Letās go again. Iām starting it. You know that one?
Ed Kearsley (54:22):
Yeah. Like the Charlie Brown.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:24):
Yeah, the Charlie Brown.
Don Ticchio (54:31):
Has he ever a heart tattooed on his belly? Has he?
Ed Kearsley (54:35):
Oh yeah, thatās right.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:35):
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
Ed Kearsley (54:38):
Thatās some,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:42):
Thereās the side mouth. He sort of changes the line a bit.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:48):
Letās
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:48):
Talk,
Don Ticchio (54:52):
Thatās
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:52):
A bit more,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (54:55):
What did you say there?
Ed Kearsley (54:59):
That mouse? A bit more tense with the clenched teeth.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:02):
Yeah. And what were you saying Don? You guys jumping,
Don Ticchio (55:09):
What programme? What are you working in?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:12):
Itās just Photoshop.
Don Ticchio (55:13):
Okay.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:15):
I think Iāll finish a few things Iām working on and then maybe jump ship to something a bit cheaper.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:26):
Another prompt word Thorn.
Ed Kearsley (55:29):
Thatās a good one.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:34):
All right. Now weāve gone for a bit of a zombie bite. Certainly more, Iām more unsure now. I dare say I had it
Nick āQuickā Cleary (55:51):
At the start
Ed Kearsley (56:03):
Since weāve already got my panel and now weāve got Donās
Don Ticchio (56:14):
Somewhere down the track when this story progresses. So I like someone to actually be able to draw bitsy in panel where in a situation where his legs become telescopic
Nick āQuickā Cleary (56:32):
As long as his legs are rolled,
Don Ticchio (56:35):
It seems they look like they could accommodate that
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (56:40):
Go gadget legs. I love
Don Ticchio (56:42):
It. Yeah, go go Gadget legs. Yeah,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (56:52):
Iām just looking at scarf continuity through the, itās certainly an exhaust pipe in a few.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (57:00):
Yeah, it is. It.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (57:01):
Itās become exhaust plate. It really has. I canāt break it now.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (57:05):
It was a exhaust coming out of a backpack in one of them.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (57:09):
Yeah, thereās some mean pictures there. Oh yeah. I canāt make it a scarf now. I get taken off the air. Oops. I might just skip it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (57:32):
Okay. I think this is a drawing programme. Affinity have six months for free at the moment. Is that what Yeah,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (57:38):
Some suggestions.
Don Ticchio (57:39):
Yeah, I just actually, because Iām getting the shits with Adobe, theyāve upped their prices on their plans and all the crap that theyāre doing about who owns what and whatever. And you canāt buy the licence. You get a subscribe for ever in a day. Affinity was having a sale and Iāve been playing with the programmes. They work just as well as in design and for 130 bucks you actually buy the licence. Thatās it. You donāt have to worry about anything else as opposed to almost a thousand dollars that Iām paying with Adobe. So I think eventually Iāll give Adobe away and just work with the other programme.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (58:31):
And weāve got Shawnee saying that they love clip studio paint. Thatās what Iām using.
Don Ticchio (58:43):
And the beauty about the affinity things, Iāve actually installed them on the iPad. I can instal āem on as many electronic equipment that I have. Computers and iPads, a phone, whatever. Just in one price.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (59:04):
Yeah, thatās pretty cool. Betsy just said I made a switch from Photoshop to Affinity photo and I wish Iād done it years ago.
Don Ticchio (59:13):
Yeah. Oh there you go. Well, Iāve started playing around with it to see for the books and things that I do. How well it works. But so far Iāve tried out the illustrator version. Itās fine. Pretty much the same. Photoshop. Well, Photoshop. Photoshop, doesnāt matter who use it, but I think my IT guy was saying that Affinityās Photoshop version is better than Adobeās Photoshop. And I got to try that out. Sorry guys. I
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (59:56):
Was wondering who that was
Don Ticchio (59:58):
With anointing.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (59:59):
So still and not reacting. Iām like, oh okay. Thatās the, so boss, whatās the plan? Do we get everyoneās stuff together to show the page or?
Ed Kearsley (01:00:25):
Yeah, we just, Iāve got, got mine. So if we let Nick draw the face in there and then
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:00:38):
Oh yeah. Cool.
Ed Kearsley (01:00:39):
Get him to send his in.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:00:41):
Come on quick. Yeah, Iāll obviously be putting a lot more into mine, but I appreciate you guys letting me figure out some of the finer comic angles. Tilts.
Don Ticchio (01:01:03):
Itās fine. Itās interesting watching it Nick. Keep doing.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:01:09):
I liked talking it through you guys. I thought that was fun. Just seeing the input of whatās like, yeah, leave the head straight while the body air. I love that stuff. I wish I could just ask more about that process. But it gets difficult online and you know youāre being watched. It changes the way you operate a fan. Even now I feel like Iām running it 50%. I know. Thereās just nice.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:01:48):
Yeah, sure. I do hate it when the audience forgets to turn off their
Don Ticchio (01:01:54):
Horrible, Hey, Iām old. My kids tell me off all the time. Here we go. And of course to them Iām the king of,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:02:21):
So that was you. Oh, okay.
Don Ticchio (01:02:25):
So is that a yes or a no?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:02:30):
I got a phone number from someone and it was someoneās butt, but I couldnāt make out who?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:02:34):
Someoneās someoneās butt. What do you call these classic cartoon gloves? Do they have a name?
Ed Kearsley (01:02:48):
I always call āem Mickey Mouse.
Don Ticchio (01:02:49):
I always thought they were Mickey Mouse gloves
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:02:53):
Because Mimes wear āem too. And I think theyāre sort of linked to those horrible, what are those Gogo dolls called? The blackface dolls? What are they called?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:13):
I forget.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:15):
I think thereās, Iām not
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:17):
Sure thereās a name for it, but
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:19):
Because Iāve heard there is sort of some sort of minor racist touch to the white glove.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:27):
Oh,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:28):
But Iām not sure. Call Mickey Mouse
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:30):
Gloves.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:32):
Itās why
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:34):
Mouse? Nicko.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:37):
Gollywog. There we go. Weāve
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:39):
Got so many eyes are watching you. So many eyes and legs. Nick says is weāre also watching.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:47):
He wants the leg drop. A leg really wants just one these, is that what he is looking for?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:03:52):
Yeah, I think thatās what he is looking for. Just one leg up
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:03:55):
There. Certainly. Itās a different vibe. Itās sort of like, hey, letās talk about payment plan.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:04:08):
It does change the vibe, doesnāt it?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:11):
I hate it. Letās sort it out between us. What do you say?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:04:18):
Ah, gollywog. Yeah, thatās it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:20):
Yeah. Golly, you go.
Ed Kearsley (01:04:22):
Itās either that or bitās trying to escape from the panel.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:04:26):
Yeah, I like it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:28):
I do like the idea that itās trying to do a little zip on the way out.
Ed Kearsley (01:04:35):
Do you want to send your panel in Nick?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:38):
Sure. Iāll just bump up some stuff and make it more presentable. But that
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:04:50):
If it helps, Iāll go back to Edās picture. Will that help?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:54):
No worries.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:04:55):
So you can work at full speed instead. Half speed.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:04:57):
Half speed. Itās not really speed, itās confidence is the issue.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:05:04):
You should be 100% confidence my friend.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:05:09):
All right. I can make this work.
Don Ticchio (01:05:13):
That is the key. Itās confidence. Thatās why I admire people that could sit down and do characters in front of all these people and just with such a confidence that you can turn out a good job. I mean, I know a lot of it is engaging your sitter and chatting and relaxing everybody and you become comfortable too. But I could never do it.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:05:49):
All right, Iāll send you that with image. There we go. What happens if I should we not? No.
Don Ticchio (01:06:12):
Oh, that was interesting.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:06:18):
Iāll send you the whole thing and then youāll do some. All right. Who am I sending that to
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:06:39):
Me if you want. If thatās easier.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:06:40):
Just on the F book.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:06:43):
Yeah, why not?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:06:44):
Cool.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:07:01):
Sorry, I forgot to throw in Nick Mayās comment. It works so much better. Iām guessing heās referring to when the leg was up there.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:07:08):
Yeah, that nice. Iāve sent that to your Facebook.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:07:14):
Thanking you sir. This will probably be quick, far unintended. Not really. Wasnāt intended just happened. But what we going, oh crap. Did I set this up? I didnāt set this up. So while Ed puts that together, Iāll share everyoneās Instagram.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:07:52):
Oh my.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:07:53):
Even Dawn,
Don Ticchio (01:07:55):
Is that what youāre asking? Thatās what
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:07:57):
I was asking buddy.
Don Ticchio (01:08:01):
This
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:08:01):
One might be a bit quick again, no pun intended. There we go. Don. Woo. Read the words. No posts yet.
Don Ticchio (01:08:12):
Iāve got 20. Yeah, I donāt go for Instagram. I should, but Iād never,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:08:19):
Thereās 23 people just absolutely waiting. Theyāre like, come on Don, we want so bad.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:08:26):
And if you look at the top, Iām one of them.
Don Ticchio (01:08:30):
I guess Iāll have to put something in the near future. Right.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:08:35):
Well weāll go to the next one, which is Nick. Hopefully Iām following that one. Yep. Good. That was an embarrassing moment or anything.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:08:43):
Look at my last update.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:08:45):
Is this the right one?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:08:47):
Yeah. What do you
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:08:49):
Mean? Okay. I just know some people have lots of them because I remember you did these drawing things quite some time ago. Thatās all.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:08:56):
Yeah, I do have a private personal one for like,
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:01):
Oh, well Iām glad I didnāt share that one.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:02):
Family photos or whatever. But that one gets less action than this. So yeah.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:11):
Nice.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:15):
Thereās a lot there. There. I should do a few updates.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:25):
Oh, I havenāt seen this one. The Lego bgy.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:29):
Lego Bgy.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:32):
Is that what it is?
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:34):
Yeah, definitely click on that. Drag flash. Letās see. Drag flash a bit more.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:40):
This one full
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:41):
Screen.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:44):
Oh, itās a bit of drawing. Okay. I didnāt realise there was a video. Cool.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:48):
Oh, I didnāt know either. Thereās me working on poses.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:09:53):
I love the little flash down the corner
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:09:56):
Chatting away. This would be a TikTok.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:10:01):
It doesnāt say how long it is.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:10:05):
Oh, too long. These are the things I did while my girlfriend was watching RuPaulās Drag Race and thinking, well what can I do? Oh, this is the only thing Iām allowed to watch. I guess I can turn this into something interesting.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:10:24):
Cool.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:10:27):
The big hairās nice for a drag flash. I think it works. It
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:10:33):
Works
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:10:37):
With the flash bars holding up the hair as well. Some sort of, Iām not sure how well that videoās transferring, but I know that I grabbed, yeah, I do some legs for Nick May. Iām just like, I can get a bit more pop. Lift the crutch a bit. Letās get the stretch marks around it. But like the bulge, you canāt ignore the bulge on a drag character. There you go. A bit of colour.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:11:06):
Nice. That looks at the end. Yep.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:11:09):
That oneās for you. Nick May
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:11:11):
Just for you, Nick, weāve got quick Edās. Lots of pictures. Thatās right. Ed, I threw you in there since you One of the artist drawers. Thatās a very technical term. Ed Kiley Art. Find him there. Oh, and Quick was Detective Budgie? Thatās me. Yeah, was the name. And John. Well, Donās just on Teo, but
Don Ticchio (01:11:44):
Oh well. I guess
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:11:47):
We should get hundreds of followers for this account. Thatās what I want.
Ed Kearsley (01:11:51):
Hundred.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:11:52):
Iām ready. Before you post
Don Ticchio (01:11:54):
Something up.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:11:56):
A hundred followers. One picture.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:12:02):
Iāll take
Don Ticchio (01:12:03):
This back in the day, I used to have things on Tumblr.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:12:07):
Oh cool.
Don Ticchio (01:12:08):
Thatās still around. I donāt know.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:12:10):
I think it is actually. Yeah.
Don Ticchio (01:12:12):
Yeah. But I donāt spend the time. I know. Iāve been told with social media, you have to spend at least one or two hours a week to go in and service everything. Well, you do it every day. Most people do. I donāt.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:12:33):
Didnāt notice.
Don Ticchio (01:12:36):
I occupy my time with other things.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:12:40):
Smart man.
Don Ticchio (01:12:41):
Yeah. But if I was a younger person wanting to really get in there my career, I would. Iād be all over the place. But Rabis with all his stuff, all my daughters, theyāre all over the place. But I tried, but no, it doesnāt grab me. Sorry
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:13:08):
Guys. Well, Nick May has put it out there. Maybe you could post some legs.
Don Ticchio (01:13:15):
No, my legs arenāt as good as they used to be.
Ed Kearsley (01:13:24):
Should we have a look at the page?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:13:26):
Yeah,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:13:27):
Letās do it. I want to see it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:13:33):
Do you want me to add it? Yes.
Ed Kearsley (01:13:36):
Thank you. So hereās my one.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:13:40):
Well, the blacks in that are really popping.
Ed Kearsley (01:13:42):
Yeah. I decided to go with the shadow on the tummy and then Yeah, thatās Mess it up on the face. Iām going to have to figure that out later. But no, itās working. Everythingās working. And got your 20 right here pal. The things itās going to be, whoops, going to be black background with stars. So thereās my one and weāve got tonnes of, yeah, well I have eight and again, whereās my 40 bucks
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:14:14):
Price?
Ed Kearsley (01:14:15):
Looks so good with all the,
Don Ticchio (01:14:17):
Yeah, Iāll fix āem up when I send the final one since
Ed Kearsley (01:14:26):
I think they looks really good. The tentacles of trying to make fists.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:14:31):
Yeah, itās awesome.
Don Ticchio (01:14:33):
Got to fix āem up a bit.
Ed Kearsley (01:14:36):
And then weāve got have
Don Ticchio (01:14:37):
Them more like put up your dukes like this.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:14:41):
Oh
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:14:41):
Yeah, yeah. Itās implied. Itās all there.
Ed Kearsley (01:14:45):
Got nicks. Letās make a payment plan.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:14:51):
Unless Iām looking at these next to each other, I feel like if I make him smaller, itās funnier. If heās a bit just smaller in the frame, I think I can get more of a laugh.
Ed Kearsley (01:15:03):
Yeah. Make him look
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:15:06):
Bit more meek.
Ed Kearsley (01:15:08):
Yeah. And youāll get the angle from
Don Ticchio (01:15:10):
Both of them.
Ed Kearsley (01:15:12):
Oh no, Iām on the wrong thing.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:15:14):
Just mine. And then, but again.
Don Ticchio (01:15:18):
Oh yeah, I see what you mean. You got the overbearing, daunting one, then the meek one at the side. Yeah. Yeah.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:15:26):
I want to be tiny in contrast, but if youāre tiny enough to get the legs in, that would be ridiculous.
Ed Kearsley (01:15:35):
Putting around there.
Don Ticchio (01:15:37):
I said thatād be good if you could do that across the panel.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:15:42):
What are you doing at the moment, ed? Whatās your,
Ed Kearsley (01:15:47):
The directional device of having the weather. Oh,
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:15:51):
Drop down. Smaller and down. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Geez. Maybe the legs will fit in.
Ed Kearsley (01:15:59):
You could just shrink what youāve already drawn.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:16:01):
Yeah,
Ed Kearsley (01:16:03):
Be quicker. But thatās the page that weāve done today in todayās show. Itās page four I believe. Iāve just drawn all over it.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:16:18):
Cool. Thanks. Or trap dog.
Don Ticchio (01:16:22):
Love the panels. Shane. If ever I come on this again, I will have mastered my iPad then Iāll actually be doing it digitally.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:16:35):
Whatās this If, whatās this business when you come on this in the next season, my friend.
Ed Kearsley (01:16:46):
All right, so that is our show for today. Donāt forget to go check out the comic shop.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:16:55):
Yeah. Battle for Busle. Just in battle for
Ed Kearsley (01:16:59):
Bustle. Thereās outlaws out soon. Is that out now?
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:17:03):
No, thatās in there as well. Outlaws in there.
Ed Kearsley (01:17:06):
Outlaws there. Nickās got books. Iāve got books there.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:17:11):
Just put some of my books in.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:17:13):
Yep.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:17:16):
Bundle guys. Get in there.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:17:19):
Get the big bundles. Make me use the purple boxes. Theyāre the bigger boxes. Just so that reference makes sense.
Ed Kearsley (01:17:27):
Where do we get your books from? Don?
Don Ticchio (01:17:31):
You go to silver fox comics.com.
Ed Kearsley (01:17:37):
Okay.
Don Ticchio (01:17:39):
I think itās dot com.
Ed Kearsley (01:17:41):
Iām sure itāll come on
Don Ticchio (01:17:42):
The Silver Fox comms. Itāll take you to it. And youāll see all our stuff on there where weāll be redesigning or revamping the website to include a lot more merchandising there. Like the pins and t-shirts and what have you. Which we had at Supernova and they did quite well. So weāll be adding to the merchandise and there should be a notification there that weāre working on the next BZA Adventure and the rise of the Killer Caucus. Hopefully weāll start artwork. There it is. Silver fox.com au. Weāll start artwork hopefully in September for a release date next year. Maybe next Supernova in Sydney. Dunno. Weāll see how it goes. But yeah, thatās where you go. Still foxcom.com au.
Ed Kearsley (01:18:52):
Awesome. Alrighty. So thank Don and Nick for coming on the show and says, for pressing the buttons and the chat for all the help with the prompts and such forth. And weāll see how that works out next week. And until then, thereās Dika draws tomorrow and thereās a bunch of other shows. I think thereās a show every week, every day of the week. Just about
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:19:21):
Every day of the week now. Almost.
Ed Kearsley (01:19:26):
Alrighty.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:19:27):
New crew. Tomorrow night thereāll
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:19:29):
Be new crew off week.
Don Ticchio (01:19:34):

Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:19:37):
Fat, fat Woman.
Don Ticchio (01:19:40):
Oh cool.
Nick āQuickā Cleary (01:19:42):
Oh God.
Don Ticchio (01:19:45):
Iāll sit in on that. I mean, Iāll be watching it. Yeah.
Shane āSizzleā Syddall (01:19:52):
Thanks Don.
Don Ticchio (01:19:53):
Thanks. Very inviting me along to this fun event.
Ed Kearsley (01:19:58):
Itās always a pleasure.
Don Ticchio (01:20:02):
And how many pages is this going to go for?
Ed Kearsley (01:20:06):
20.
Don Ticchio (01:20:07):
20. Like the last one. And is the last one already being printed or in the process or whatās happening with it?
Ed Kearsley (01:20:13):
No, in the process Iāve made an ash can and it looks really good. Cool. Look at that.
Don Ticchio (01:20:23):
Cool, cool. Yeah.
Ed Kearsley (01:20:25):
Nice. But we will make a proper one at some point. Put it in the shop. Oh yeah. All right. Si, play us out. Yep. Goodnight all. Thank you very much. See you.
Don Ticchio (01:20:42):
Goodnight.
