<silence> Yeah, what has happened?
Voice Over (00:36):
Let’s make a comic book, but let’s make it a little bit different. Instead of one person or a team making the whole book, we’re gonna have every panel made by a different cartoonist. We are gonna do one page per episode. So the number of guests is the number of panels on the page. So now you’re probably wondering, what’s this comic book going to be about? Well, lemme tell you. It’s gonna be about a robot. This robot whose name is blank. What happens next? Nobody knows, but it’s gonna be fun finding out.
Edmund Kearsley (01:14):
Hello?
Morgan Quaid (01:16):
Hello.
Edmund Kearsley (01:19):
Do let’s make a comic book where we make a comic book with a different artist for every single panel and the host, ed Kiley. And tonight we’ve got Siz as a guest instead of on the ones and twos. So I’ll be pressing all the buttons tonight. Mm-Hmm, <affirmative>. And we’ve, we’ve also got Omni Blow and Morgan Quaid.
Morgan Quaid (01:43):
Oh, hang on. You said cartoonist in the intro. <laugh> Let it let it be known. I’m no cartoonist, let know that I’m now known as Omni Bow, the Cartoonist <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:57):
It’s their official credit
Morgan Quaid (01:59):
<laugh>. So,
Edmund Kearsley (02:01):
Um, we’re gonna have to have a look at last week’s, um, page. So let me,
Morgan Quaid (02:12):
Oh man.
Edmund Kearsley (02:13):
Figure it out. There you go. So we had Yana Hoffman decided that we needed more dragons in the comic book. So we’ve got the sweeping Dragon attack, and then Shannon Browning as the reaction shot with blanks still being attacked by the tentacle monster from the previous panel. So that’s where we’re at. That’s where you guys will be carrying on from
Morgan Quaid (02:47):
Gulp.
Edmund Kearsley (02:48):
And these are the layouts we’re gonna be using. So it’d be one of those. So, yep, just gimme a second. All right. So first we’re gonna choose the order of who’s drawing what. And, um, I decided for tonight’s choosing thing, we’re gonna do the ABCs of DC with the DC’s Best and most powerful characters for you guys to choose from. So we’re gonna start with Scissors first, isn’t he?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:24):
Yeah. Oh, I’m first. Okay.
Edmund Kearsley (03:26):
So you get to choose between Ambush Bug,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:31):
Ooh,
Edmund Kearsley (03:32):
Blue Beetle or Cat Captain Carrot.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:40):
Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (03:41):
I’m going Blue Beetle. Just ’cause it’s sort of Destiny. <laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (03:47):
Blue Beatle’s. My favourite two. So you’re number one? I’m first. Okay, now it’s Bull Turn with the, the Ambush Bug or the Captain Carrot.
Omni Beau (04:00):
Oh God. I’m, I’m prone to Captain Carrot. I gotta say
Edmund Kearsley (04:05):
Captain Car. So you are number three. So Morgan is going second
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:10):
Morgan’s after me.
Edmund Kearsley (04:12):
And then, oh, so Morgan, you get to choose from the hand of choosing
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:20):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (04:21):
<laugh>. Do I pick a number? Yeah, yeah. I, we’ll pick number one. You’re on one. Let’s go One
Edmund Kearsley (04:26):
Number one is number one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:31):
Oh.
Edmund Kearsley (04:32):
So that is that.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (04:37):
Okay, now I gotta start thinking,
Morgan Quaid (04:39):
Oh, I just got something. So we each do a panel, right? Got it. <laugh>, I was thinking a whole page. I was freaking out. All right. That <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (04:52):
So it’s, uh, yeah, every panel has a different artist,
Morgan Quaid (04:56):
Right?
Edmund Kearsley (04:59):
So is starting the show off. So, but you’ve got a, um, a channel, the Aussie verse.
Omni Beau (05:13):
Yes, we are streaming live on Aussie verse right now.
Edmund Kearsley (05:16):
Hello. Aussie verse,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:17):
Hello Aussie verse. Oh, I see. That’s what the little links are.
Edmund Kearsley (05:21):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:22):
Shows you where they’re coming from. Cool. So I’m just doing the admin thing. I should be doing the drawing thing. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (05:30):
Start drawing.
Morgan Quaid (05:31):
Yeah, you’re first, bro. You gotta you gotta get in there and draw things.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:35):
Yeah, I gotta make layers because I made that mistake the other day.
Edmund Kearsley (05:41):
You can, um, you can, uh, rename the layers too if you want, if that helps to keep track of them.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (05:51):
I’m not gonna make that many. Okay. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (05:55):
Have you got some comments? Um, the, the, the first one is from me from six 30 <laugh> first, and then we’ve got Reggie, uh, John bu his second, and Kerry says third. And then Kerry again, we’ve great lineup. And then we’ve got eight Hagi with highest sausage, sizzle and gang. Claudia Australia. Hi. Or Hey Steve Roberts. Good evening, you magnificent bastards. <laugh>. And then we’ve got Bose, um, message just from the Aussie verse saying, Hey, and Dave s is hi.
Omni Beau (06:39):
Or I wasn’t sure how the comments, Hey, so I wasn’t, I, I saw Claudia had messaged Hey, on the Aussie verse stream, and I wasn’t sure if it came up on yours. So I, I thought I’d respond. My comments come up. Oh, shut up,
Edmund Kearsley (06:54):
<laugh>. That’s what, that’s what s was talking about. I can see there from the, the other stream. That’s cool.
Omni Beau (07:00):
It’s a little symbol
Morgan Quaid (07:01):
That shows you that it’s coming from one of you guys.
Edmund Kearsley (07:05):
Excellent. So boy, what’s the Aussie verse all about?
Omni Beau (07:09):
Uh, Sharif, myself, Steve Roberts and guests, uh, we like to talk about all things pop culture. We like to also expand out and do a few things like me eating chilli gummy bears last week. That was absolutely horrible. But I do suggest you go look at it because I nearly died and it was fun for everybody else. <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (07:33):
Excellent. So Morgan, do you have a show? You do our reviews? I think,
Morgan Quaid (07:45):
Yeah, I do. I’ve got, I’ve got a, a YouTube channel and other stuff, but I, but I also have, uh, at the moment I’m busy as hell <laugh> at the moment. I have a, a Kickstarter, uh, running for a, uh, a little comic called Blood Smith, which is, uh, pretty cool, kind of a turn of the century horror tentacles and such. Um, yeah, so that’s, that’s what what I’m on with the moment with uh, uh, Sean from comics to movies and, um, yeah, great fun and vomiting puppets best, uh, sort of writing come artwork thing is, is when you, you write some stupid thing that you think, uh, you know, what’s this gonna turn out like? And the artist does the thing and it looks amazing. And you think so? Yeah, vomiting puppets is, is one of the, uh, the hallmarks of, uh, of the, the comic book. It’s great.
Edmund Kearsley (08:37):
Are the, are the puppets vomiting or is someone vomiting up puppets?
Morgan Quaid (08:40):
It it, well I should do that for issue number three. Um, yeah, no, it’s, it is the puppet. So one of the main characters only speaks through a puppet. Um, and they kind of get, uh, pushed into this kind of other world momentarily. And then it’s so traumatic that when they come back they both vomit, which is, you know, kind of cool. I just thought it would be cool for the puppet to vomit too. It doesn’t make any sense. <laugh>
Omni Beau (09:03):
<laugh>,
Morgan Quaid (09:04):
Why not? You know,
Omni Beau (09:06):
You’ve also got a, a not so what do, what do you call it? A not so,
Morgan Quaid (09:11):
Oh, the very occasional podcast. I
Omni Beau (09:13):
Love that name. <laugh>
Morgan Quaid (09:16):
Very, I haven’t, I haven’t run it for like six months. So it is very occasional at the moment. I’m glad I chose that, that, that term ’cause Yeah, it’s been a long time. Yeah,
Omni Beau (09:27):
You’re gonna have to, I’m gonna have to do a rebirth of it, mate. I reckon.
Morgan Quaid (09:32):
Yeah, I’ve been thinking of that. I’ve been thinking of a few ideas to get it back out there, but the beauty is I can do it whenever I want. ’cause it’s only very occasional, you know,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (09:43):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (09:44):
It’s good thinking ahead.
Morgan Quaid (09:49):
Yeah, <laugh> knowing when I started the thing up. Well, this is gonna have a short shelf life ’cause I’ll get bored and I’ll get busy and it won’t last. So I’ll just put that in the title and then no one will be surprised. <laugh>. Hey, go. Are you doing a thing?
Edmund Kearsley (10:06):
Let’s have a look.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:06):
I’m trying to, oh, it’s very light, isn’t it? Yeah.
Omni Beau (10:11):
What are you drawing on?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:14):
Uh, iPad.
Omni Beau (10:15):
Oh, that’s hocus pocus stuff.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:18):
<laugh>
Morgan Quaid (10:19):
Techno. I
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (10:20):
Bought it ages ago to learn how to draw and it sat there for I think about a year.
Omni Beau (10:26):
See, I’m wondering if I can do that on my new phone because I got this, I wanted a tablet for Marvel Unlimited and I conveniently dropped my iPhone in a puddle, so I had to go get a new phone and I got convinced to go to Samsung and I ended up getting the, the Z fold five, which is like a tablet.
Edmund Kearsley (10:45):
Oh wow.
Omni Beau (10:46):
Surely
Edmund Kearsley (10:53):
Does that one have a stylus?
Omni Beau (10:56):
No, but you can buy a cover with a stylus. Now <laugh>, this is gonna make me sound really cheap. I’m used to a, a cover for a phone being like, you know, your standard 20, 30 bucks if you want something like really like, you know, cool or or shock proof, maybe 50 bucks. And I’ve gone and bought this phone and I’ve said, well I need a cover. And they’re like, yeah, well without a stylus it’s 120 bucks and with a stylus it was like 150 and I cheaped out and got the one without the stylus and the cover’s already broken.
Morgan Quaid (11:29):
<laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:31):
<laugh>. Oh, no way.
Omni Beau (11:32):
Yeah, but I think I’m gonna go upgrade and get it because Yeah, I reckon if you can do it on an iPad, you should be able to do it on the latest Samsung.
Edmund Kearsley (11:46):
Yeah. If it’s got a drawing, um, it’s some drawing software.
Omni Beau (11:50):
Yeah. God, hope you’re not gonna be watching me draw at the same time. ’cause that’s gonna be really
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (11:56):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (11:57):
Well, well you’re lucky ’cause you don’t have the, the drawing traditional, so we can’t see you. You’re gonna have to hold it up to the camera.
Omni Beau (12:05):
I’m such an old man. <laugh> <laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (12:08):
So, so question about, uh, blank. ’cause I’m coming to this <laugh> with a bit a bit blank <laugh>, you know, um, jokes. So d does the, the robot have like, uh, special power stuff that we’ve seen, like bits that come out of him and or lasers or any of that sort of stuff? Oh,
Edmund Kearsley (12:30):
I could show you all the pages. So that’s the one I did. And then we’ve got DeShaw and Peter Wilson.
Morgan Quaid (12:40):
Oh, sweet.
Edmund Kearsley (12:43):
And then Logan French, Alex Major, um, Peter Lawson.
Morgan Quaid (12:50):
Oh wow.
Edmund Kearsley (12:51):
Ken Best, Nick Clear and Tom to
Morgan Quaid (12:54):
These guys are gonna be so disappointed when I start <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (12:57):
Chris <inaudible>, Blandon, Brett McKenna, and then right. GI Hoffman and Shannon Browning. So it’s mainly the Nick creatures. So whereas, and Nick, uh, introduced the, the egg or Daan silver introduced the, the flying eyeball and then made arms come out of it.
Morgan Quaid (13:22):
So Cool.
Edmund Kearsley (13:25):
Then we had the, the one panel romance that turned really quickly, <laugh> on the page.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (13:32):
I love that one Panel Romance,
Edmund Kearsley (13:34):
The McClary introduced the, the egg coming out. And then Tom Tongue put the, all the tentacles and stuff on it, and then ’cause Pitcan joined, joined the the egg with all the tentacles. And then Brent McKenna’s joined it as like a, like a humanoid figure with the face peeling back and all the eyes. And then Gianna said, let’s do dragons.
Morgan Quaid (14:06):
Ah, that’s, oh wow. That’s
Edmund Kearsley (14:09):
Where we’re up to.
Omni Beau (14:12):
We’re gonna have to get a piece by Lee Hawker.
Edmund Kearsley (14:15):
Yes,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:16):
Definitely.
Edmund Kearsley (14:26):
Excuse me for a second. So
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:34):
He’s bored with my drawing
Edmund Kearsley (14:37):
<laugh>. That’s
Edmund Kearsley (14:37):
Okay.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (14:41):
I didn’t think of what to put in between. Oh yeah, we’ve got those weird tentacle things.
Edmund Kearsley (14:49):
Let’s have a, a chat with and tell us why you got into comics. What, what’s the big deal about comics
Omni Beau (14:59):
Theory? What’s the big deal about comics? That is a great title for a book. I like that. <laugh>. Um, well, oh, we used to read, um, those, those, uh, not choose your own Adventure books, but they were, I, I always forget what they’re called and someone always reminds me of them, but, um, Steve Livington or something like that.
Edmund Kearsley (15:19):
Fighting Fantasies,
Omni Beau (15:20):
Fighting Fantasy. I can never remember the name of those good work. Um, I was addicted to those as a kid and I used to collect them all. And then my dad, uh, got it in his head that he thinks every comic book one day is gonna be worth a lot of money. So he goes to the comic book store and he, you know, this is in the nineties where there was a hundred number ones coming out, and he grabs all these number ones thinking he’s going to invest in my future. And he ducks them at my lap. And he goes, here you go, read these. And in it was, uh, venom number one Lethal Protector, the very first Venom solo issue. And that just had me hooked, man. I just wanted to know more and more about Venom and Spider-Man. And, uh, then also it was around the same time of the death of Superman. Um, and I was addicted to Superman at that stage too. And since then, man, it’s just been a fricking love story. And I just, I, I don’t think I’ve ever read a novel since it’s just been comics then there’s just too many comics I wanna read.
(16:22)
And now, um, since, since meeting CS for the last year or so, um, I’m, I’m, I’m gonna say I’m actually getting really into the independent scene, which I, I haven’t for like 35 years or more, so, which is great because now I’m supporting a lot of Kickstarters. I’m gonna have a little, um, section that’s just Aussie, uh, Kickstarter stuff and it’s, it’s really cool, man. It’s really great stuff.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (16:49):
Well, I can explain what I’m doing so Morgan knows what he can do next. Okay. If that helps. Yeah. Yeah. That, that would help. I’m going with the, there’s always a bigger fish. So you got the dragon that, um, Yanu drew. I’m trying to draw it and doing a really bad job of it, but I’ve got a much, much, much bigger dragon coming down and eating it. And you’re left with, uh, old blank in the corner here. And I don’t know how to draw an expression onto a robot’s face, so he is just a robot face. But pretty much I was going to get, um, because, um, ed ese afterwards, so you don’t have to put the lettering in. You can say, I want him to say this. I want him to say that. I just want him to say crap crap. Like a big exclamation mark. Crap. Like, was scared of that little dragon a second ago. And now there’s this other giant dragon eating that little dragon <laugh>. Yeah,
Edmund Kearsley (17:57):
There you go. So,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (17:58):
Um,
Edmund Kearsley (18:00):
Take it away, Morgan. Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:01):
Yours, Morgan. And I’ll try to draw this now.
Edmund Kearsley (18:08):
Oh, Morgan’s muted. Did I do that?
Morgan Quaid (18:12):
There we go. Am I back? Oh, there
Edmund Kearsley (18:13):
You go. Yeah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:14):
Yeah.
Morgan Quaid (18:15):
All right. Um, all right. That’s what the robot looks like. Oh man. I know what I wanna do, but I, I, I, it’s just not gonna work.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:25):
Just remember those two dragons don’t need to be in your story. They could just fly off and something else happens.
Morgan Quaid (18:35):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:35):
Just don’t think you have like, like, like, um, Janna did, there was no dragon in the one before that and she introduced a dragon,
Edmund Kearsley (18:43):
But dunno how big the dragon is either ’cause it’s,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (18:46):
Well, you know, well, yeah, it’s often the distance, so you still don’t know how big it is. You just know the other one’s bigger on my drawing. <laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (18:54):
Oh no, hang on. You gotta do like a All right, we’re gonna do,
Edmund Kearsley (19:01):
Yeah, well let two get some stuff drawn and then we’ll take a look. Have we’ve got some more comments coming in now. We had Steve Roberts says, no it wasn’t, but it was frigging hilarious. That was the chilli. And the guy SME studio says Hello, hello and quick. Nick was sizzle, flip and delivered. <laugh>. <laugh>. There you go. Quick. Nick is the one that did the, introduced the egg into the story and Hello to SME Studio.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (19:36):
Yeah, that’s sk just so you know.
Edmund Kearsley (19:38):
Ah, cool. Cool. Some beeping noises.
Omni Beau (19:46):
Yeah, that was me. I’m gonna turn that off right now. Apologies. Excellent.
Edmund Kearsley (19:52):
Did that, um, that venom leaf protector, I got that off the stands as well when it came out.
Omni Beau (19:59):
Oh yeah, yeah. Um, it was so fricking amazing. And then like, I didn’t find out till like 20 years later if not more, that there were variant covers for it. And I’m
Edmund Kearsley (20:14):
Those reprints I think said they did.
Omni Beau (20:17):
Yeah. So you’ve got the classic red that everybody knows. Then there was a gold variant that I never thought I’d be able to get. And I finally got one about a year or so ago. Um, very expensive. And then there’s one that I’ve never seen for sale, which is just a black background. Um, and then obviously there’s a lot of homages to it as well that I’ve collected over the years. Um, but yeah, the, the red is just the, you know, you’ve some comics that you get really nostalgic about and that venom lethal protector one is definitely one of ’em for me.
Edmund Kearsley (20:55):
Yeah. I had the red one. It’s crazy that the Bagley was drawing that and amazing Spider-Man.
Omni Beau (21:01):
Yeah. And he still is.
Edmund Kearsley (21:03):
Hmm.
Omni Beau (21:05):
That’s incredible. Man. Him and Dan Slot are now doing their own Spider-Man series and God, Bagly Bagley is just king man. Love him.
Edmund Kearsley (21:16):
Yeah. He was my, uh, Spider-Man. Artist as as a kid.
Omni Beau (21:20):
Mm. If it wasn’t him, it’d be, um, em, ’cause they were, they were always What if he was doing like the spectacular titles at the time? Yeah, very similar. Yeah, very different style. But when I, when I think of Peter Parker, I always think of, um, SBU that, that style, to be honest.
Edmund Kearsley (21:41):
So I didn’t like SBU when I was a little kid, but
Omni Beau (21:44):
Yeah, a lot of people don’t.
Edmund Kearsley (21:46):
Yeah. They’re so lucky and, and, um, kinda sketchy compared to like the, the guys that went on to form image were just coming in with the really slick different style.
Omni Beau (21:58):
Yeah. I’m also very, um, in the, in the minority where the one storyline that nearly everybody hates to me was like the greatest thing of all time <laugh>. And that was the Spider-Man Clone Saga.
Edmund Kearsley (22:16):
I still haven’t read that age. Oh, to get a chew paper back <laugh> It went for, it just went for so long.
Omni Beau (22:23):
It did. Yeah. It’s, it’s full omnibus.
Edmund Kearsley (22:26):
Oh Jesus. Oh wow.
Omni Beau (22:35):
So what’s your, what’s your favourite comic ed?
Edmund Kearsley (22:39):
Uh, so around that time or just before then? I was reading the Justice League International comic and they ended at like, the issue 60 when they were, um, I think they were set, it was just like a year before or something before the death of Superman. So that’s when I started looking at, uh, image comics and stuff like that.
Omni Beau (23:05):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (23:08):
So after that I was, I was into Batman for a good long while and collected Robin from like, issue about seven to issue 80. And, uh, got all the back issues and stuff.
Omni Beau (23:22):
Man. Do I feel sorry for anybody that collects Batman? That is just, you really need a second job for that.
Edmund Kearsley (23:31):
There’s a lot of stuff and the Max was another big one in the nineties. Oh, I love
Omni Beau (23:38):
The Max. Yeah, the max was in that pile of number ones. Same as, um, Supreme. I dunno if you remember that one from Image. Yeah. Was,
Morgan Quaid (23:51):
I like the concept of Supreme.
Omni Beau (23:54):
I just remember that cover always. It was that s
Edmund Kearsley (24:03):
It’s good stuff.
Omni Beau (24:05):
Just trying to think what else was in there.
(24:11)
It’s one of the reasons why I hate when they replace villains as well. Like with DC it’s a bit different with the, um, with the legacy characters, you know, it makes a bit more sense in DC for them to do it. But with Marvel, I just hated, like for example, um, the Hob Goblin was always one of my most favourite villains. And the hob goblin that I grew up with who was an absolute psychopath, um, doesn’t even exist anymore today. And the hob goblins that are around today are just different people. Um, and man, I just, I just dunno why they do that. <laugh>, like, just stick with them right by, you know,
Morgan Quaid (24:52):
Hey Ed.
Edmund Kearsley (24:53):
Mm-Hmm.
Morgan Quaid (24:54):
Question to draw something falling. Um, what’s the best way to sort of indicate vertical <laugh> movement with lines and stuff? You know what I mean? Like, if
Edmund Kearsley (25:10):
Quick ticks up,
Morgan Quaid (25:12):
Ticks as in,
Edmund Kearsley (25:15):
Um,
Morgan Quaid (25:19):
<laugh>, I can’t see you
Omni Beau (25:21):
Like this. I guess. Just a sec.
Morgan Quaid (25:24):
Hang on. Lemme have a look. Oh, SIL, that looks amazing.
Edmund Kearsley (25:29):
Just, um, hold on a sec. So if you’re doing balling stuff,
Morgan Quaid (25:38):
Hmm. Oh, that is awesome. That is so good. All right. Thank you sir. That makes perfect sense. All right.
Omni Beau (25:54):
I was seeing as we’re answering questions about that. So if I was going to draw something good Mm-Hmm, <affirmative>, how would I do that?
Edmund Kearsley (26:02):
<laugh>
Morgan Quaid (26:03):
<laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (26:04):
For a couple decades. I
Morgan Quaid (26:05):
Changed my question <laugh>. That’s what I wanna know. Oh man. Even just drawing a straight line like that is not as cc as you think.
Morgan Quaid (26:18):
<laugh> god,
Omni Beau (26:19):
Morgan, you’re making me feel great, man. Thank you. <laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (26:22):
Oh, dude, you, you just wait until you see. Yeah, the, I just, just seeing, because I’ve been looking at my own screen. So just seeing sizzles effort was like, oh man, it’s taken a sharp turn down. You just wait like a really sharp turn. I’m
Omni Beau (26:41):
Impressed with
Edmund Kearsley (26:43):
The sizzle’s a good artist. He just pretends that he’s not
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (26:47):
<laugh>. No, no. I just, I have moments. This doesn’t look like a moment to me because it’s looking a bit crap to me.
Omni Beau (26:56):
If you can make out what it is to me, that’s good enough.
Edmund Kearsley (26:59):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:03):
All right.
Edmund Kearsley (27:04):
Let’s see. We’ve got a couple more comments here. So take a look. Oh, we’ve got Sig Studio says, oh, know my secret identity <laugh>. That was says what I gave,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (27:17):
Sorry.
Edmund Kearsley (27:20):
And then we’ve got quick Nick with Well, yeah, COMEX always delivers, hit up the shop, uh, Signate again, impressive Omni this collection behind you. Gold cover, variant of Venom, and then that’d be talking to Blue Ahed has ay boat at the start. Then we got Sate again with, there’s even Australian Prince Valet and more versions of Venom. If you want to go down that rabbit hole. <laugh> Australian Price. Vari. Yeah. Prince,
Omni Beau (27:53):
I used to for, for a while, I was a major, um, homage or as the kids say, swipe collector. Um, and I had so many of those and I had to stop because I, I didn’t realise just how many there was. Like Spider-Man, 300, for example, they still pump those out. <laugh>. And I had like, I was getting up to like 50 of the first appearance A Punisher, you know that one with the gun? Yeah. Um, about 50 Hulk, where it’s Bruce, Izzy, man, Izzy Monster or Izzy both. Um, and they just kept going and going and going. And now I’ve, I’ve, the only ones I collect now is, um, Leonardo Da Vinci’s, uh, Vitruvian man, you know, that, that I, I collect those com comic covers. Um, uh, Nirvana, um, oh God, I’m going blank. What’s there with the baby in the pool?
Edmund Kearsley (28:51):
Yeah.
Omni Beau (28:51):
Um, I collect those ones.
Edmund Kearsley (28:53):
Nevermind.
Omni Beau (28:54):
Nevermind. Yeah. Thank you. Um, and the only other one I think after that would be, um, the cover to New Avengers number one. They’ve done a few of those too, where it’s like the silhouettes in the shadows.
Edmund Kearsley (29:10):
Yeah, I was gonna say, how many Spiderman? Three hundreds.
Omni Beau (29:14):
Yeah. It’s insane.
Edmund Kearsley (29:17):
And, uh, and Todd McFarland’s one with the, the kin, the reflection of Wolverine’s Claw.
Omni Beau (29:23):
Yep.
Edmund Kearsley (29:23):
Yep. It’s done a lot too.
Omni Beau (29:25):
Yep. In fact, they’ve just announced in the latest previews that it’s Wolverine’s 50th anniversary. So as Marvel do they always have like, you know, some sort of theme for the month for all the variant collectors And, um, all’s gonna be doing like for all these comics, all these classic ones. So they’ve got the Spider-Man 300, but it’s Wolverine <laugh>. They’ve got the tall one that you just said, you know, a whole bunch of them.
Edmund Kearsley (29:53):
Thanks. And we got another comment from Dave Di says Boo, but see a heap of hatching
Omni Beau (30:01):
<laugh>. Yeah. Good call man. Good call. I’m
Edmund Kearsley (30:08):
Gonna see some crosshatching.
Omni Beau (30:10):
Yeah, he taught me how to do that. That’s, that’s what I wanted. Ask
Edmund Kearsley (30:12):
<laugh>. Excellent. So we’ll have a look at, uh, Steve
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:17):
Was explaining crosshatching to me the other night as well, and I’m like, not happening.
Edmund Kearsley (30:22):
<laugh>. Gotta have a look at Morgan’s panel now.
Morgan Quaid (30:27):
Uh,
Edmund Kearsley (30:28):
Are you ready?
Morgan Quaid (30:29):
Yeah, let’s do it. Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (30:34):
Oh, there you go. Oh, he is. Oh, another
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:36):
Egg. Love it. Another
Edmund Kearsley (30:37):
Egg.
Omni Beau (30:38):
Oh, what, when did you start drawing?
Morgan Quaid (30:41):
Well, so, okay, so it’s, it’s not gonna be an egg. Um, I need to change the egg. It’s, I mean, there’s only one orifice, but it’s not gonna, so basically it’s, ’cause I can’t remember what, what’s on sizzles one, but the word crap, uh, came to mind.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (30:57):
<laugh>,
Morgan Quaid (30:59):
That’s what it’s gonna be. But I need to, that shape is not right. So I’m gonna, uh, I’m gonna work on that now. I just need to <laugh> do a crap layer.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (31:08):
Crap layer. I love it. That’s awesome, man. We talking about going down a level that looks great. It’s
Morgan Quaid (31:16):
Horrible, dude. It’s, I wanted to do, I wanted to do the robot facing up and I spent, I just trying to figure out how to make the eyes right to make it look like they’re looking up and everything and it just, it, yeah. Not gonna happen.
Edmund Kearsley (31:28):
Just get the LASIK tool around it and move it up to the top of the head.
Morgan Quaid (31:33):
The, oh, no, I mean, like, you know, the, so the eyes, so the, so his face is looking. Oh, I see what you mean. Like, grab the whole thing and squish
Edmund Kearsley (31:42):
It. Yeah. Just move it up and make it look like he’s looking up
Morgan Quaid (31:48):
Like this. Hang on. No,
Edmund Kearsley (31:49):
Just the, just his eyes and mouth bit. Just draw around that with the Oh,
Morgan Quaid (31:54):
I see what you mean. Morgan is learning. Ladies and gentlemen.
Omni Beau (32:00):
I am. I feel like my partner set me up by not giving me a pencil.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:05):
<laugh>, <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (32:10):
Yeah. You should have enough information to start
Omni Beau (32:13):
Laurie. Yeah, I’m going to right now.
Morgan Quaid (32:20):
Oh wow. It’s such a simple thing. All right, <laugh>. Um, I gotta change this crap.
Edmund Kearsley (32:31):
We could a comment from quick, Nick. It says it’s another egg. Oh no, it’s crap.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:36):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (32:38):
It is in more than one. How do I do this without being horrendously offensive? Uh,
Omni Beau (32:44):
You can’t, it’s 2023 <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (32:47):
Yeah.
Morgan Quaid (32:48):
All right, let’s be offensive then. Gravity’s a factor. So we’re gonna Oh, that’s too, no,
Edmund Kearsley (32:59):
Yeah, that looks like, oh, that was good. Like,
Morgan Quaid (33:01):
Was that all right? I might go a little bit more then we’re gonna do this business.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:09):
Ah,
Edmund Kearsley (33:09):
Dear.
Morgan Quaid (33:12):
Oh, that does look a bit, uh, all right. We we’re gotta put a lots of cat.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (33:20):
Yeah, no, looks like it. That. There you go.
Morgan Quaid (33:22):
Stuff have been, you know, I just don’t <laugh>. I just don’t want it to look like there are veins there. That’s the only thing. <laugh>. We’ll, just, we might just fill it out a little bit. Oh, now it’s got feet. No <laugh>. We don’t want it to be so much like that. <laugh>. All right, so heading down. Oh, and the perspectives all out. I do not know how to do the legs either of this thing.
Edmund Kearsley (33:53):
Let’s just leave them.
Morgan Quaid (33:55):
I’ll just leave him as is. So how far does is all right.
Omni Beau (34:03):
Oh no.
Morgan Quaid (34:06):
I really wanna draw one of those eye things as well, but I cannot remember what they look like.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:12):
Hey, that looks good. Looks like he’s looking up. I love it.
Morgan Quaid (34:16):
I know. It’s that trick where you do the thing. Squish the stuff. All these tricks.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:23):
See, don’t even know how to select that thing. I don’t, I think I’ve got it somewhere on here. I was looking for it the other day, but I couldn’t figure it out.
Morgan Quaid (34:32):
Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:32):
More on this dragon. I don’t know what to put on it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:35):
Um,
Edmund Kearsley (34:38):
Have a look at scissors.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (34:42):
Join in for the chomp.
Edmund Kearsley (34:45):
The dragon looks cool. So I love this about this show is the, just seeing where the story goes when, when everyone gets their turn at their panel.
Morgan Quaid (35:13):
It’s pretty cool.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (35:15):
It’s awesome
Morgan Quaid (35:15):
Right idea.
Edmund Kearsley (35:21):
And the best bit is, I don’t have to do anything
Morgan Quaid (35:24):
<laugh>. All right, let’s,
Edmund Kearsley (35:45):
And another comment says, Morgan, does that turd have whiskers?
Morgan Quaid (35:56):
It does. It has more now as well.
Edmund Kearsley (36:00):
Oh goodness.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:02):
<laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (36:06):
Eyeball in it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:09):
A
Morgan Quaid (36:15):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:16):
What are you turning that into? <laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (36:20):
It’s just a turd. But he eats <laugh>. He eats a lot of weird stuff, that’s all.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:24):
Oh, okay, cool.
Morgan Quaid (36:26):
Yeah. And he doesn’t, he’s not, he’s not patient, so it doesn’t get digested that well often. Let’s get some more of these whiskers in
Edmund Kearsley (36:33):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (36:40):
Oh, that’s just gross
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (36:43):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (36:44):
Oh my god. What am I doing?
Morgan Quaid (36:47):
I’m also gonna do a straggly bit. That’s just, no, that looks like hands. All
Edmund Kearsley (37:00):
That looks like the dragons made a little poo baby. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:04):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (37:05):
That’s what I’m thinking. That’s how they
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:07):
<laugh>, that’s
Morgan Quaid (37:08):
How they continue on
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:12):
Eyeballs. Reproduce with eggs of weird creatures and dragons with poop. I like it. This is an interesting world.
Morgan Quaid (37:25):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (37:30):
It says you’re going in on the dragon getting some details in.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (37:39):
Just trying to get in my head what he looks like. It looks like I don’t know how to do a whole picture in little details and a little bit more then a little bit more than, a little bit more. It’s like, oh, here’s something I want detail now. And that little bunch of stuff. And I,
Edmund Kearsley (38:11):
It gets really hard drawing digitally when you can like, use the zoom in and you can just focus like on draw so much detail. So I was doing that a lot when I first started drawing digital, but then when you see it printed and you, you can’t see any of the detail when it gets printed. So yeah, kinda broke me of the habit of, of hyper focusing too much. Let’s check out, got another comment from Claudia, says Shane, since when do you draw mate?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (38:56):
Hey,
Edmund Kearsley (38:58):
Since when do you draw Claudia’s <crosstalk>. Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (39:01):
Draw mate. I thought you said me. And I’m like, this is Claudia <laugh>.
Omni Beau (39:11):
So I, it’s come to my attention that the perspective here. Well, and actually not the perspec. Okay, so I’ve started my panel in the middle, which was wrong. <laugh>. It should have been down here and now it’s not gonna make any sense whatsoever, but we’re just gonna keep going.
Edmund Kearsley (39:29):
You gonna give us a look?
Omni Beau (39:31):
No, not yet. <laugh>. <laugh>? No, not yet.
Morgan Quaid (39:39):
Not until you’ve earned it people. Not until you’ve earned <laugh>.
Omni Beau (39:43):
Alright, so. Oh, no, no. Just not yet. No, no.
Edmund Kearsley (39:51):
If I get a comment from white comic said hello everyone. And what is this? What’s going on? Why is Beau here?
Omni Beau (39:58):
Uh, I’m here because I’m trying to draw Daddy
Edmund Kearsley (40:01):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (40:18):
Uh, ears. Ears, ah, ears. They are at the back of the head.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:27):
You’re putting ears on the poo.
Morgan Quaid (40:29):
That’s a look. Yeah. <laugh>. No, I’m not putting these on the poo <laugh>. Although now I really want to, um, <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:43):
I was gonna do blue underneath this, wasn’t I? Oh well.
Morgan Quaid (40:47):
Um, I
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (40:49):
Was gonna give that blue line for you. Go. Looks like
Morgan Quaid (40:52):
That seems a bit too wonky. What do we got side? Are they round? They’re round. Come on man. They’re round. <laugh> yoing. That’s not good. Yo, I love, uh, uh, controlled z <laugh> when you’re doing digital,
Edmund Kearsley (41:12):
It’s the best thing ever,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:14):
Man. It’s awesome. Can I have
Omni Beau (41:16):
A look at the eyeball? One chance
Edmund Kearsley (41:24):
The flying eyeball?
Omni Beau (41:25):
Yeah. Thank you. Oh God. Okay. Um,
Edmund Kearsley (41:36):
Then,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:36):
Um, oh yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:37):
Oh wow.
Edmund Kearsley (41:39):
It’s kind of died in these bits until they, it’s dead by page five. And you’re on page seven, unless should make in a new one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (41:53):
Let’s go the new one.
Edmund Kearsley (41:55):
<laugh> got some more comments from, from my comics. Just a sec. It says you trying to draw Mebo if that was in reference to the drawing Daddy.
Omni Beau (42:11):
Yeah. No, I, I don’t know how to draw a Mebo.
Edmund Kearsley (42:15):
<laugh>
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:16):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (42:18):
And then what comic says. What comic book are we making though? For real? We are making a, let’s make a comic book
Omni Beau (42:32):
For those that dunno. My, my fiance is actually a really good artist and she’s, she’s been in a previous comic that sizzles put out. She’s done a page. So I have no idea why Sizzles asked me to be on this and not her. It just makes <laugh> like, I am not gonna, like, my night now is ruined ’cause she’s just gonna laugh at me for like the next <laugh>. Thank you very much, man.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (42:57):
You’re welcome. Anytime
Omni Beau (42:59):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:01):
That’s what we’re here
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:02):
For. Comic uh, comic relief.
Edmund Kearsley (43:06):
Come on. How
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:07):
Could,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:08):
Sorry you go.
Edmund Kearsley (43:09):
Has ha ha ha your face Omni Bow. You could do it, honey. Yes. I’m his Misses <laugh>. Is Claudia in the, the Susan Dog book?
Omni Beau (43:22):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:23):
Yeah. She did the Oh, oh. Funnily enough for Dragon.
Omni Beau (43:27):
Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:28):
Very cool Dragon.
Edmund Kearsley (43:30):
Got it here.
Omni Beau (43:32):
Yep.
Edmund Kearsley (43:35):
Let’s have a look. Oh, there you go. Page 14. Oh yeah. Drive dragon.
Omni Beau (43:56):
Yeah. There. That’s it.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (43:59):
Awesome.
Edmund Kearsley (44:04):
I did one of these too.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:06):
Mm-Hmm.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:07):
<affirmative>.
Edmund Kearsley (44:10):
Yeah. There’s my one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (44:11):
You are, you’ve got the giant dog. I love that.
Omni Beau (44:16):
Yeah. A mean cut
Edmund Kearsley (44:28):
All All right. And she, Claudia says, yes. I’m laughing with love and respect
Omni Beau (44:36):
<laugh>. Yeah. She knows I will do nearly anything to embarrass myself, <laugh>. Especially if it’s live.
Edmund Kearsley (44:50):
What’s wrong?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:08):
I love this. We’re another page in and we still haven’t revealed the monster.
Omni Beau (45:16):
Okay. So my thought was purposely
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (45:18):
Avoiding it. My,
Omni Beau (45:20):
My thought process was, ’cause Morgan had like the egg coming down that I would have blank somehow magically has defeated this dragon. And the dragon’s head would be on like a bench bleeding, ready for him to start cooking with it. And the egg, um, would be in a frying pan and the eyeball would also be on a bench. So he is gonna be making some kind of like robot, um, <laugh>, but it’s really not working out that way. Let, lemme just give you that hint. Okay. So, okay, so we’ve got, I’ll show you this. Thank you. Um, so lemme just say I’ve, I’ve gone from the side view of blank that he’s, that he’s given me and I haven’t filled the top, which is a problem ’cause I don’t know what to do with that yet. And remember how I said I should have started at the bottom ’cause it’s not really gonna make much sense. So I started with blank and his little frying pan and yeah, there’s a little cross. Uh, Dave Dye. Thank you. Um, oh, nice
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:37):
<laugh>.
Omni Beau (46:39):
And he was meant to have like a frying pan and I don’t know if that’s meant to be a fridge or an oven or a, or a grill, but, and then he is got like the dragon head and the eyeball with his utensils down there. Oh dude,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:52):
That looks awesome.
Omni Beau (46:53):
No, it doesn’t
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (46:56):
<laugh>. It’s cool. That can be the little dragon’s head. I love it.
Edmund Kearsley (47:01):
You could fill the, uh, the top third with dialogue too.
Omni Beau (47:05):
Oh, right. Okay. We can do dialogue. Okay, cool.
Edmund Kearsley (47:10):
Hey sis, your um, screen share thing has changed if you have a look at changed. Yeah, I mine it’s instead of like on Morgan’s one it says add to stage, your one has a full screen layout thing.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:26):
Oh, because I’m still on You gotta press. Yeah. So you gotta press this one as well to have all of us on the screen.
Edmund Kearsley (47:40):
Oh, you fixed it. Good work.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (47:41):
Yeah, I,
Edmund Kearsley (47:43):
I got more comments from Claudia says I more of a graphic a designer than illustrated though. But it’s still fun to be in a comic, which I’m gonna say is true.
Omni Beau (48:01):
Yeah, absolutely. This is like a dream come true.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (48:07):
No, I don’t want that at all.
Edmund Kearsley (48:14):
That blank’s looking good. Uh, Morgan?
Morgan Quaid (48:19):
Yeah. Yeah. I don’t think I’m gonna touch him anymore. <laugh>. I think I’ll leave him as is and I’ll just do other stuff. I’m trying to do those eyeball things now. The
Edmund Kearsley (48:27):
Tentacles.
Morgan Quaid (48:29):
Yeah. But doing, doing something that looks spherical and looks like it’s looking up and looks mechanical. Yeah. It’s like you need skill to do this stuff. No one, no one told me that.
Edmund Kearsley (48:46):
Right. Think they, um, the technicals are they kind of, they’re segmented, but Yeah, they’re, yeah.
Morgan Quaid (48:54):
The more
Edmund Kearsley (48:54):
Organic if that helps.
Morgan Quaid (48:57):
There’s Right.
Edmund Kearsley (48:59):
But Tom first introduced ’em, they were
Morgan Quaid (49:01):
Oh, they’re a bit more. All right, well let’s, okay, let’s try another one.
Edmund Kearsley (49:10):
I just noticed that there’s Shannon Browning’s drawing them. They look like snakes with eyeballs in their mouth.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (49:18):
Oh yeah. That looks cool.
Edmund Kearsley (49:20):
That’s awesome. Okay. Legion of Comics says, good morning Homies
Omni Beau (49:49):
Legion. We are Legion
Edmund Kearsley (49:55):
And good morning to Legion of Comics.
Omni Beau (50:00):
That’s a great channel for those that haven’t seen it. Go look ’em up. I
Edmund Kearsley (50:16):
So since you just started, uh, your own live stream, drawing stream?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:23):
Uh, yes. I have amateur hour. Woo.
Edmund Kearsley (50:30):
I couldn’t catch it last weekend, but, uh
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (50:34):
Oh, okay. I’m inviting anyone who believes themselves not to be professional, to be an amateur artist of any level, to come join in, especially with digital and they can come draw whatever I’m drawing and we can have a giggle at each other’s. Um, amateur this
Edmund Kearsley (51:00):
Excellent. That’s on Saturday afternoons.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:04):
Yeah, Saturday, uh, one 30 my time. So that would be
Edmund Kearsley (51:08):
Two 30. Two 30 Melbourne time. Yeah.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:10):
Yeah. Melbourne and uh, uh, Sydney time. Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (51:17):
I can’t tell if Morgan’s camera’s frozen or he is just concentrating real hard.
Morgan Quaid (51:25):
I’m drawing the outline of a turd and I’m concentrating super, super hard. Way too hard. Oh man.
Edmund Kearsley (51:36):
It’s a good looking turd though.
Morgan Quaid (51:39):
Thanks man. <laugh>, there’s been a lot of, lot of years of research, lot
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:42):
Fire
Morgan Quaid (51:45):
<laugh>, lots of fibre. Oh man. That’s just,
Edmund Kearsley (51:51):
And chain’s getting scaly on the dragon’s neck.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (51:55):
Yeah. I’m a bit cheating here. I’m using a technique that I did for another dragon years ago. Hmm. I’m just copying myself off. That dragon was way cooler than this one. <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (52:13):
That dragon’s not in a comic book though.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:16):
Ah, this is true. It’s hidden away on my computer. I think somewhere is a hard copy of it. I don’t know. I threw a lot of things out when I went manic once.
Omni Beau (52:34):
I can’t think of what else to put in this, so I’m just gonna show you what we’ve got.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (52:39):
It goes last and then it shows off by being first <laugh>.
Omni Beau (52:43):
That’s ’cause my detail is just not a good mate. Okay. So he is cooking, um, the dragon’s, like, how did I end up here? <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (52:54):
He,
Omni Beau (52:57):
He’s thinking I believe in peace and forgiveness, but a robot’s gotta eat and
Morgan Quaid (53:02):
Nice.
Omni Beau (53:03):
And then he is got, uh, certified Isaac Asimov, uh, signature picture in the background too.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:10):
Nice
Omni Beau (53:11):
For, there you go. He’s he’s the robot guy. That’s all <laugh>. Dude,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:22):
That’s awesome.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:31):
Uh,
Omni Beau (53:33):
Oh, I know what I can add. Oh, I know what I can add
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:36):
Here.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (53:37):
Oh, what’s that button do?
Edmund Kearsley (53:39):
And Morgan, you don’t have to finish the, the panel tonight.
Morgan Quaid (53:44):
Ah, sweet, sweet. You know as well, you know, my whole idea, I’m gonna, uh, I’m gonna do it all in pink and then I’m gonna go over with black and then I’m gonna Absolutely no way am I gonna do that. I’m just gonna click a button and it’s all gonna go black and that will be <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:01):
Excellent. There’s no way.
Edmund Kearsley (54:03):
Oh yeah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:03):
That’s a good idea. The technology is your friend.
Morgan Quaid (54:06):
The two things I lack are skill and patience <laugh>. So,
Edmund Kearsley (54:12):
Okay, Dave, do d says a real Picasso though.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (54:15):
<laugh> Dave, you
Edmund Kearsley (54:20):
Bladder. So, um, for your plan of drawing it in pink and then turning it black, why didn’t you just draw it in black <laugh>?
Morgan Quaid (54:32):
Because I was, I was gonna do sketchy stuff and then, and then draw more refined stuff, but I don’t have the patience for any of that <laugh>, so, you know, um,
Edmund Kearsley (54:44):
That’s a good answer.
Morgan Quaid (54:46):
Yeah. Just didn’t, didn’t work. I mean it is, it is so quick and easy though. Let me show you folks, this is something I can actually do, um, pretty quickly. I’m just gonna do a bit of an overlay. I’m gonna copy that layer style and I’m just gonna paste it on all of these like a big fat sheet and then, but
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:06):
Yeah, they’re all layers.
Morgan Quaid (55:07):
Look at that. Yeah. Yeah. They’re all, all layers.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (55:10):
Well, I’ve got three not being used.
Edmund Kearsley (55:18):
I’ll show you, uh, thing that I was drawing today.
Omni Beau (55:27):
Wolverine’s arms are coming outta your head.
Edmund Kearsley (55:30):
Yeah, so this is, this is for my comic book, um, papa.
Morgan Quaid (55:36):
Oh, nice.
Edmund Kearsley (55:38):
So these are all the, so that’s for the middle panel.
Morgan Quaid (55:44):
Yeah. See that’s what I’ve seen you guys do. You do the sketchy stuff in a different colour.
Edmund Kearsley (55:51):
And then I’ve got the, the original under drawing at the bottom. So I do tonnes of layers.
Morgan Quaid (56:01):
That’s what I was trying to do, but I, I don’t have the patience <laugh> or the skill
Edmund Kearsley (56:13):
To eventually get to. So I’ve got the drawing layers. I’ve got the, the character and some stuff on one layer, but a second background layer and then the background layer and then a white layer underneath to cover up where it goes over
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (56:38):
Wizard tree.
Edmund Kearsley (56:41):
So when you’re drawing traditional, you um, you can’t do that stuff so you just draw it properly. But it’s a bit different in drawing digital.
Omni Beau (56:56):
No, you, you can, because like this is like my first layer and then I’ve got like the second one there
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:07):
<laugh>. Oh
Omni Beau (57:08):
See. So I can do that too.
Edmund Kearsley (57:11):
He’s got it all figured out.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:13):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (57:17):
So you got a comment from Dave Di saying, what’s that dragon been eating? Morgan
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:21):
<laugh>
Morgan Quaid (57:23):
Other dragons mostly.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:25):
Yes.
Morgan Quaid (57:26):
And um, things with fur,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:30):
<laugh>
Edmund Kearsley (57:33):
And Dave Day said, awesome Ed. So thanks Steve. Oh, look at this scissors. Get into the grey scales.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (57:48):
I’m trying to make it look more like that dragon that was drawing the other night. I have my own little technique for this. I have no idea if it’s the right thing, but it works for me so I’m gonna keep doing it. I don’t think it’s what you’re meant to do.
Edmund Kearsley (58:10):
It’s looking good.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:15):
How do you,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:25):
Where’s the eye dropper?
Edmund Kearsley (58:31):
It’s under the magic wand above your pen.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:38):
Oh. Yep, I see it now. Thanks.
Edmund Kearsley (58:43):
We got X Vicious says dragons. Eat furries. Thank God. F and eight. Furries.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (58:50):
<laugh>. Okay, now it looks more like the dragon from the other night. Cool. And someone, what does this, what’s this one do? Nope, that’s not what I thought it did.
Morgan Quaid (59:14):
Hmm. There we go. Go. Was wondering what was going on.
Edmund Kearsley (59:24):
Oh look, Morgan’s getting some details in. I get a comment from Omni Bow saying we are Legion, oh sorry, I’m replying to Legion <laugh>. I keep forgetting what you’re saying about us. So it’s about this time, uh, on the show that you guys send in. Oh yeah,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:23):
That’s great.
Edmund Kearsley (01:00:24):
What you’ve done so far. And I’ll paste the, the, uh, page together and we’ll have a look at what it’s gonna end up looking like.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:00:35):
Okay. Let’s
Morgan Quaid (01:00:36):
See. Wait,
Edmund Kearsley (01:00:38):
So if you guys, you could send them your stuff to Ciz. Um, or you could just take a picture of it if you Oh, alright. Sweet. And then send it to Ciz and then it should, should fit into the, to the panel that I’ve got here.
Morgan Quaid (01:01:06):
Oh, cool. Cool, cool, cool.
Edmund Kearsley (01:01:18):
Morgan, if you want, uh,
Morgan Quaid (01:01:22):
Cool. I’ll send it through. Now
Edmund Kearsley (01:01:23):
Can send it to, to Ciz. Dave di says, um, says, it looks like you’ve been practising . Oh,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:34):
Yep. Surveys. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (01:01:37):
<laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:41):
Um, now I gotta remember how to get this off here. Um,
Edmund Kearsley (01:01:48):
There you go. I’ll send
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:01:49):
Your guys over first and then I’ll send mine over.
Morgan Quaid (01:02:01):
Okay, there we go. There we go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:21):
Bam. Sent <laugh>. Oh, got a message. Is it all right like that? Ed from Bo?
Omni Beau (01:02:44):
I can do something different if you need.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:02:47):
No, it should be fine. Now I need to figure out to email what’s going on.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:33):
<affirmative>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:36):
Okay.
Omni Beau (01:03:37):
<laugh>. I know that feeling.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:03:42):
I know how to make websites doesn’t mean I know how to use technology. Um, I, oh great. I can’t find my pictures, but I can find other people’s <laugh>. I’ll at least send that anyway.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:32):
I,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:04:50):
This to me before, I don’t understand how iPads work. I said save and then I can’t get to the place where I saved it. Um, go back. Go back. Can I save it somewhere else?
Morgan Quaid (01:05:08):
Try the cloud sizzle. It’s, it’s all in the cloud. That’s where they keep the things in the cloud.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:15):
Have you looked in the cloud?
Morgan Quaid (01:05:17):
It’s probably in the cloud. I’d say
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:21):
That’s where I’m gonna put it. See if it lets me get it from there. Okay, try again. Did you get uh, Morgan’s? I just sent that through.
Edmund Kearsley (01:05:33):
Is that in the email?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:05:34):
Email? Yeah. Um, lemme have a look. I thought I’d figured this out before, but it’s been a prick.
Omni Beau (01:06:17):
I need some hold music.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:19):
Yes. Sorry guys. I don’t know what’s going on here. It’s like all these other pictures except the one I just drew. Limited access to your library
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:06:43):
Gmail
Omni Beau (01:06:46):
For those watching. Let’s get those comments in. Make some conversation happening here. Got a question. Ask it away. You got a comment? Ask it away. You got a qualm, ask it away. I don’t know. Wait, can you ask a qualm? I don’t know what a qualm is. I just know that it sounds like a comment or a question.
Edmund Kearsley (01:07:04):
I think a qualms like a more marsupial.
Morgan Quaid (01:07:08):
<laugh>.
Omni Beau (01:07:11):
Do you have a marsupial? Let us know. <laugh>.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:21):
Screw this.
Edmund Kearsley (01:07:22):
Get some comments in. Well, sis
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:07:25):
Figures out how the hell was using iPad.
Edmund Kearsley (01:07:28):
We got one here from Claudia. How many guitars do you have Morgan?
Morgan Quaid (01:07:34):
Ah, uh, five. Too many and not enough. Um, uh, I’m now on the one in one out rule, which means if I want a new one, I have to get rid of one. That’s the rule. So there, there’s the ones you can see there, there’s probably about 20. It’s not that many. Um, but then there’s the ones you can’t see over there. And then the keyboard and the drum kit and the other thing, I don’t even know where it is, lots of stuff, but I use, uh, two guitars 99.9% of the time and I don’t use anything else. So it’s kind of off a show now. That’s the way it
Omni Beau (01:08:12):
Goes. I’ve just, I’ve decided to get back into drums. It’s been a few years and I found a really cheap electric set the other day. Um, it was 50 bucks, man. Like I can’t believe it. The only problem is, is that it only works with headphones. And I’ve been with Claudia for four and a half years and I’ve been dying to show off my drum skills to her and now home and all she can hear is me going
Morgan Quaid (01:08:37):
Tap. Tap. Yeah, <laugh>. It’s not the same, it’s not as satisfying.
Omni Beau (01:08:42):
No, no. I would love an acoustic kit, believe me. But you know, one day soon, hopefully.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:08:49):
Yeah.
Edmund Kearsley (01:08:50):
Okay, we’ve got Steve Roberts’s got the confirmation in the qum is an uneasy feeling of doubt, worry or fear. Especially about one’s own conduct and misgiving.
Omni Beau (01:09:01):
There you go. That’s not a Marsupial. <laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (01:09:05):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:09:07):
You are probably thinking of QAs. I never got Claudia say sweet. You’re in a band or something. Assume that’s for Morgan.
Morgan Quaid (01:09:20):
Uh, no. I used to be, I used to be in a band called, uh, spatula City. We did not do well. Um, nice. They were uni band. No, no. I do, I do music for, uh, so I, I produce occasionally and do music for film and TV on the side and all that sort of stuff. And it pays so well that I, uh, don’t do it for a day job because it doesn’t pay well enough. But yeah, <laugh>. So I
Edmund Kearsley (01:09:43):
Do it
Morgan Quaid (01:09:45):
For film and TV and um, you know, occasionally I’ll produce an indie album or something like that as well when I get the That’s great. The chance. Sweet.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:09:53):
Hopefully that just sent through Ed or I send it to someone else. Or I, I don’t freaking know iPads. Stupid <laugh>. I don’t like them anymore. I don’t like them anymore. Save a folder, one place and you can’t get to that place from another software. What the fuck?
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:11):
We’re gonna have to get Alex back for you guys to fight
Morgan Quaid (01:10:16):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:19):
I did send
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:21):
Did it send it?
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:22):
Yep.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:23):
Okay, cool
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:26):
To talk amongst yourselves while I put the last panel on.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:35):
Well that was fun.
Morgan Quaid (01:10:37):
It’s, it’s,
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:38):
I’ll go back to drawing a find, trying to figure out the iPad.
Edmund Kearsley (01:10:43):
So, uh, Morgan or Bo got a shout out your channels and stuff. We’ll do this. Yeah.
Omni Beau (01:10:52):
Aussie verse. There you go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:55):
<laugh>
Morgan Quaid (01:10:56):
<laugh>. A literal shout out
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:10:58):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (01:11:00):
Um, well go to if you like awesome things and great stuff and cats and dogs and anything in between and awesome comic art and horror and that sort of stuff. Go to the Kickstarter and support Blood Smith vomiting, puppets, people. What more do you need to know? It’s a 19th century horror. It’s really cool. It’s got drawings and stuff. Sorry. It’s very hard to draw and talk at the same time. I don’t know how you guys do it <laugh>, but uh, anyway, uh, if you wanna learn how to write a novel, go to, uh, Morgan Quaid, Morgan the Quaid or something like that on YouTube. Anyway, I’ve got a channel, it’s got cool stuff, <laugh>, all sorts of stuff, and I’m done.
Edmund Kearsley (01:11:45):
Excellent.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:47):
And I’m just using comic.
Edmund Kearsley (01:11:51):
What have I done here?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:11:53):
That fancy phone.
Morgan Quaid (01:11:59):
Oh, that’s, that’s familiar. Oh, there we go. That’s that’s the, uh, yeah, that’s, that’s blood smith. I was gonna say, I know that that music from somewhere. <laugh> <laugh>. Oh man, the artwork is sick in this thing. It is so sick. I’ve
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:13):
Seen bits and pieces of it, of exploding heads and so forth and I’m like, yeah, I need this in my life.
Morgan Quaid (01:12:19):
Yeah, it’s um, really cool. It’s got all cult stuff and a bit of kullu and monsters and guns and vomiting puppets.
Edmund Kearsley (01:12:30):
<laugh>.
Morgan Quaid (01:12:31):
Wait,
Edmund Kearsley (01:12:33):
That’s this page that we made tonight. There it is. Look at
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:12:41):
That.
Edmund Kearsley (01:12:43):
Suppose.
Morgan Quaid (01:12:43):
Wait,
Edmund Kearsley (01:12:45):
Are you gonna scan yours info? Uh, am I gonna what? <laugh> I feel late. It doesn’t matter, but we’ll, um, we’ll have a bit of a closeup look. So we had the last panel, last page, the dragging coming in and then now the dragon is a bigger dragon’s lunch that there’s what’s his name? Blank down the bottom. And then the dragon leaves and he sends a little gift towards blank
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:26):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:13:28):
And then some sort of time jump. It says, I believe in peace and forgiveness. The robot’s gotta eat <laugh> with the certified as mother picture. He’s cooking his stuff. How did I end up here? Reserved for Aussie verse
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:45):
<laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:13:50):
There you go.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:13:52):
Awesome. That was a lot of fun.
Morgan Quaid (01:13:59):
That’s great. You guys killed
Edmund Kearsley (01:14:00):
It.
Morgan Quaid (01:14:03):
We may have, but hopefully you can resurrect it, you know, in the next
Edmund Kearsley (01:14:06):
Show.
Morgan Quaid (01:14:07):
It’ll be fine. And that’s the last episode of Let’s make a comic
Omni Beau (01:14:10):
Book. <laugh>.
Edmund Kearsley (01:14:16):
The Dave Dice is tonight. Shoes is the funny shoe so far.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:20):
<laugh>
Morgan Quaid (01:14:21):
Sweet Entertainment value. That’s what we are people. Woo.
Omni Beau (01:14:27):
Good feedback. Good feedback.
Morgan Quaid (01:14:29):
When, uh, you know, when all the shadings done and you know, the grey scale stuff, it’ll look amazing. It’ll just look like a completely different artist. Did it?
Omni Beau (01:14:38):
Yeah. When I get
Morgan Quaid (01:14:49):
Wink, wink.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:14:50):
No, I, I I happen to know a few artists. <laugh>,
Edmund Kearsley (01:14:55):
<laugh>.
Omni Beau (01:14:58):
No, thank you very much. Thank you very much. Sizzle. I really appreciate it. I thought you were setting me up for some kind of gag when you asked me to come on, but thankfully I really appreciate that.
Morgan Quaid (01:15:09):
It’s a great idea too. Great idea guys. Really, really cool idea.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:15:13):
Yeah. Ed, this is all Ed’s idea, so praise, praise it that way.
Morgan Quaid (01:15:19):
Praise you. Uh, ed. Yeah. Awesome idea. Awesome idea. Can’t wait to see the final thing.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:15:25):
Yeah, it’s gonna be so cool. Yeah, me too.
Edmund Kearsley (01:15:28):
A couple last comments. Uh, Kerry says, good work, lad and Goy says, oh my God, I heard you’re from the other side of the house. <laugh>. <laugh>. Uh, on that note, I think we’ll wrap it up. So thanks Ciz for being a guest instead of the man behind the curtain pressing the buttons. And Bo and Morgan, thanks for coming on and donating your time and artistic skills to the book. Uhs, what’s the next show that’s gonna be on comics?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:05):
Oh, the next show. That’s right. I was meant to have this already.
Edmund Kearsley (01:16:09):
The drink and draw tomorrow.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:10):
Someone told me there is, um, no drink and draw was last week, so it’s fortnightly now. Okay. So there is another, it’s not on until next week. Um, actually I don’t think there’s anything there is. The next show is me on Saturday drawing Wolverine. I’ve been asked to draw. Nice.
Edmund Kearsley (01:16:31):
I drew this one.
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:33):
You did a great job. Thank
Edmund Kearsley (01:16:35):
You.
Omni Beau (01:16:36):
Really?
Edmund Kearsley (01:16:37):
No, that’s a Jim Lee blanket. Uh, so we’ll sign off, um, next to Susan and Bo and Morgan and, um, I’m gonna press the outro video button. Is that it, sis?
Shane ‘Sizzle’ Syddall (01:16:58):
Yeah, like subscribe all the normal stuff. Thanks everyone.
Edmund Kearsley (01:17:01):
That’s right. Like, comment and subscribe on the videos
Omni Beau (01:17:03):
Or even the abnormal stuff.
Edmund Kearsley (01:17:06):
Yeah, check out Aussie verse and Morgan Quaids channels as well. Okay, boy
Morgan Quaid (01:17:14):
<laugh>. Bye-Bye.
